Because PUPPY BUTTS!

Or rain, if you happen to be here, but you won't see ME complaining! HA! The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week, however, is LET IT SNOW! We want to see your snowy creations this week! The Design Team is featuring Art Impressions products today. Art Impressions makes some seriously adorable rubber stamps! They have SUCH fun designs! You don't have to use them to play along, but if you have them on hand, we'd love to see what you do with them!

Puppy Butt Christmas

I used the super cute cat and dog mini set for my card. Because PUPPY BUTTS!!!! I created a snowy shaker card using a pretty Pinkfresh Studio Christmas Wishes patterned paper to create a scene out the little window. The puppies are colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

I filled the shaker with Tim Holtz Distress Glitter and some sequins.

Because: Gnomes

I tried, you guys, I really did. I tried desperately to NOT purchase this absolutely adorable gnome stamp set by MFT. I failed. Miserably. Honestly, it didn't even take that long. But, you GUYS, it's GNOMES!!!! Obviously I needed it. For reals, though.

Hello Gnome by Jennifer Ingle #gnomes #mftstamps #spellbinders #cardmaking #Diy #spectrumnoir

Seriously. How cute is HE?! Super cute. That's how cute, my friends, super.wicked.cute. I colored him with my Spectrum Noir pens and, obviously, did the same with the tiny snail. I fussy cut them (dies are available, but I'm cheap and already own scissors). I can't even. I just love him.

Hello Gnome by Jennifer Ingle #gnomes #mftstamps #spellbinders #cardmaking #Diy #spectrumnoir

To created the shaker, I used some great label dies (Labels Thirty Five) to create an embossed window and then used the same label to cut the background from chalkboard paper. I stamped and embossed the sentiment so it would sit inside the shaker box and then added some fun sequins.

This card, though, you guys... SO much fun to put together. I love these stamps. I'm officially glad I caved. HA!

Have a Happy!

P.S. I am linking this one up to the Virginia's View Layers and Dimension challenge

Happily Ever After (detail)

I made the shaker double width (two layers of foam tape) to be sure the beads could move around freely, but I also put LOTS of beads in there. It's a happy shaker!

It's Your Time to Shine!

We have another awesome new stamp and die set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to release today! Do you guys love stars as much as I do? 'Cause, for reals, I REALLY love stars. Lots. That being the case, I REALLY love these stamps and dies! Lots.

Your Time To Shine

I die cut two of the stars, overlapping them, to create the shaker window. I then added my acetate and popped up a star frame over the smaller star to highlight it a bit. I traced around them with a grey pen for some added definition.

Shine (detail)

I heat embossed the sentiment on patterned paper for a quick and easy finish. This is just a shiny, bright, & happy card. I love it.

Because Sometimes You Want Clear Shaker Sides

So. Here's the thing. I had a vision. I made a sketch. It was going to be GREAT! It all started with this photo, but there was a problem.

This is the current inspiration photo from the Runway Inspired Challenge. As soon as I saw it, an idea popped into my head, so I grabbed my trusty Post-It notes and sketched out a card. I love the sketch and finally go to turn that vision into a reality last night. Only one problem. My vision had a shaker going across the front of the card. See those floral panels on her jacket? For some reason they screamed WINDOW to me, so my mind went to a shaker card. BUT...the design I had sketched sort of neglected to remember the fact that sequins will fall out if shakers don't have sides. My shaker didn't have sides.

Sydney Shaker

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

Yes, my friends, despite having not thought through the engineering quite as thoroughly as I perhaps should have in the sketching stage, I managed to maintain my original design idea and still have my shaker card. WHAT?! Yup. For reals, you guys. How did I complete these feat of awesomeness, you ask? Kool Tac Clear Foam Tape, my friends. To. The. Rescue. Yup. The sides are sealed with clear foam tape. Under the acetate. And you can barely see it. And I love that. And this card, you guys... THIS CARD!

Sydney Shaker (detail)

I heat embossed the bottom panel with Wide stripes for a subtle bit of texture. The red stripe was inspired by the belt buckle in the photo, along with the stripes found throughout. I just really love how this all came together. It's one of my favorites, for sure! You can find my complete supply list below. A Birthday Shaker

I have a quick post for you today with another fun card for the Winnie & Walter Birthday Challenges! Today I am playing along with the Shaker Card Challenge. I LOVE shakers! I wasn't going to miss this one!

Happy Birthday Shaker

I used the frame from the Picture Perfect set and then hand cut the window for my shaker. I grabbed the flowers from the The Big, The Bold, and Extras set. I cut those out and simply adhered them near the shaker, layering the 'happy' die (layered, for depth) over the entire window.

DSCN6670

I filled the shaker with mostly flat silver sequins (LOTS of them) and added just a few colored sequins for some pop. I really like the mix a lot!

And that's all for today!

Have a Happy!

Ring-A-Ling Hear Them Ring

I am up over on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today with this fun holiday shaker card! I LOVE how adorable this bell looks as a shaker! LOVE IT, I tell you! Love. For reals, though.

Silver Bells

I filled it with silver glass glitter and silver sequins to keep a LOT of sparkle in there! I topped it off with some adorable holly stickers and kept the card simple. This one is super fun and I may or may not have randomly shaken it several times since I made it last week. Maybe. Just puttin' that out there.

Head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog for more inspiration! There is LOTS to be had, folks. I promise.

Have a Happy!

Amazing in Gold and White with Pastels

Taheerah posted this awesome photo as the inspiration for the Cure For the Monday Blues Challenge and I instantly fell in love with it. Because she kindly extended the deadline, I managed to squeeze a card in for it today! I loved the whites and golds that are dominant in the photo, but the bits of black and pastel colors, like the wall in the background also inspired me. The computer screen made me think to pull out this awesome Newton's Nook Frame stamp and emboss it in gold. The text on the screen led me to search for a mixed font sentiment from WPlus9 and the acrylic chair just SCREAMED shaker to me. So... this is what came from all of that thinking...

DSCN5438

I filled my shaker with some white and tiny clear sequins. I kind of love it. Like, lots. For reals, though. And those Little B flower dies.... LOVE! I added those, as I felt it needed just a *touch* of pink and the floral paper decor in the photo inspired that a bit, as well.

DSCN5439

So, there you have it!

Have a Happy!
