Two Cards for the Price of One!

Well, 'price' probably isn't the right word, but basically, I started out creating one card and ended up with two very different designs from the work I put into it. I kind of love them and how very different they turned out even though they use the very same basic supplies all around.

Here are the supplies I used:

Simon Says Stamp Leafy Leaves Background Stamp

CZ Designs Chunky Thankful Die

Prima Watercolors, Decadent Pies

And a Neat and Tangled Maple Leaf stamp that is no longer available, but you can find a similar one in this Simon Says Stamp set

Oh... and some cardstock, bristol, and May Arts twine

Fir this one, I stamped the background on bristol and watercolored it to create a nice fall background look. I then die cut the sentiment, saving the middle pieces, adhered the painted panel to a card base and then adhered the sentiment pieces back into the 'Thankful' to make a cool outline look. This let the background be the star of the show for this card.  A simple wrap and bow with twine finished it off nicely.

Now, as you know, I don't normally just jump into a supply list. BUT... for this one, I had to because... CHECK IT OUT! After making this card, I realized I had the perfect makings for a beautiful clean and simple design with the leftovers!

There is a slight chance I like this one even better. Even though the painting took a bit of time and effort and you can't really tell that as much here, BUT, alas...I still LOVE the way that die cut sentiment looks cut from the stamped and watercolored background. It's like.... perfect. So, I used the outline that was left over on a simple white panel and then just stamped a few maple leaves to finish it off in a nice deep red tone.

Two cards from one set of work! LOVE IT! And I hope you do, too. Never forget to check out what your 'scraps' are giving you! You may just find some treasures in there!

Calling All Sistahs!

It's time to CHECK YO SELF, ladies! That's right, it's time for the Calling All Sistahs blog hop!

This is a blog hop that not only provides you with logs of inspiration, but also a reminder to be sure to check your boobies! We do this blog hop on the 17th of each month because that is the day that Michele, the owner and designer of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, discovered that she had breast cancer. She caught it early and jumped on her treatment. She is now CANCER FREE! Because that can happen. And it DOES happen. And it is wonderful!

This very idea inspired this card. NEVER. GIVE. UP. For reals. I love this awesome Dream then Do stamp set and even though it isn't officially a part of the Calling All Sistahs collection, I think it is a perfect fit for this message, don't you?

AND.... if you would like to pick up some awesome CAS-ual Fridays Stamps remember that you can save 15% off your order by using the code JINGLE2016!

Your next stop on the blog hop is Joanna Harty! Be sure to head on over there! And if you just stumbled upon the blog hop, head back to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to start from the top! Comment on EACH blog for your chance to win one of THREE awesome prizes!!!

Girl in Denim

HI!!! I am pretty excited to share my project for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge today! Our challenge this week is FLOWERS! We want you to incorporate flowers into your project in some awesome way! The Design Team is showcasing Prima Flowers product this week. In choosing my product, I noticed that they have paper clay available. Well.... I haven't made an art doll in AGES, and this was the perfect excuse to give one a try again!

Untitled

I used some old jeans for the fabric. Aside from that, and the plastic Target bags that I used to stuff her, you can find all of the supplies to create this fun little project at Simon Says Stamp. The paper clay was used to create the limbs and the head. I then stitched the torso from a pair of old jeans and painted it with a heavy body acrylic paint. The face is done with a simple Copic multiliner pen and her blush is also Copic marker. I had SO much fun creating her!

I used some May Arts gold string for both her awesome belt and her necklace. A tiny Doodlebug flower accents her necklace and brings in the flower theme with a pop of color! LOVE IT!

Now it's YOUR turn! Create something fabulous using FLOWERS as your inspiration and link it up over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog for your chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to the Simon Says Stamp Store! WOOT! WOOT!

Don't worry, you don't have to make a doll. You can make a card. Or whatever it is you make. Just MAKE!

Have a Happy!

Made With Love

Happy Wednesday!  Hey!  Guess what?  It's NOT snowing!!!  It's a MIRACLE!  LOL!  I am excited to share a card with you for our Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!  The challenge is to create cards with a Wedding or Anniversary theme.  This week the Design Team is using some Prima goodies!  They have such a wide range of pretty things!  I wanted to find something a bit different that not everyone might think of when they think Prima, so I went with this great pocket pad!  I also pulled out some of the Lizzie Anne Designs stamps and dies that are exclusive to Simon Says Stamp for my card!

The Best Things

If a marriage isn't made with love, well, than I would say there isn't much hope.  My sentiment isn't necessarily the first one considers when creating a wedding or anniversary card, but I think it works so beautifully!  And...if you look closely, you will see that the gift card tucked into the pocket is for Michael's!  I know if MY husband gave me this anniversary card I'd be a pretty happy girl!  :)  For reals, though.

Made With Love (detail)

I used some fun stuff on this card!  Dies, wood veneer, AWESOME papers, and, like I said, some super cute stamps and dies!  You can find them all in the inlinkz at the bottom of this post!

And now it's YOUR turn!  Create a NEW Wedding or Anniversary themed card and link it up over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  DUDE!  If you need help spending that, just give me a heads up.  *wink*  *wink*

Have a Happy, folks!  I certainly plan to do so!

Simon Says: Flower Power!

Hello, folks! Happy Wednesday! It is time for a new Simon Says Stamp Challenge! Woot! Woot!

This week we are pulling out the FLOWER POWER! No... not the Mario and Luigi kind. Well, I suppose you could do that kind, I mean, it is a challenge and you CAN interpret it however you wish! Dang! Now I wish I had done that kind! HA! Well, anyway.... the design team is actually using Prima and CAS-ual Fridays goodies this week, so I went with a super simple design using both of those wonderful brands!

Thinking About You

I used one of Prima's gorgeous stitched flower embellishments for this one. You guys, seriously...those things totally feel like cheating! LOL! They are SO pretty and SO easy to just add to a card! The sentiment is from the CAS-ual Fridays STOP stamp set. LOVE!
