Because: Gnomes

I tried, you guys, I really did. I tried desperately to NOT purchase this absolutely adorable gnome stamp set by MFT. I failed. Miserably. Honestly, it didn't even take that long. But, you GUYS, it's GNOMES!!!! Obviously I needed it. For reals, though.

Hello Gnome by Jennifer Ingle #gnomes #mftstamps #spellbinders #cardmaking #Diy #spectrumnoir

Seriously. How cute is HE?! Super cute. That's how cute, my friends, super.wicked.cute. I colored him with my Spectrum Noir pens and, obviously, did the same with the tiny snail. I fussy cut them (dies are available, but I'm cheap and already own scissors). I can't even. I just love him.

Hello Gnome by Jennifer Ingle #gnomes #mftstamps #spellbinders #cardmaking #Diy #spectrumnoir

To created the shaker, I used some great label dies (Labels Thirty Five) to create an embossed window and then used the same label to cut the background from chalkboard paper. I stamped and embossed the sentiment so it would sit inside the shaker box and then added some fun sequins.

This card, though, you guys... SO much fun to put together. I love these stamps. I'm officially glad I caved. HA!

Have a Happy!

P.S. I am linking this one up to the Virginia's View Layers and Dimension challenge

It's Your Time to Shine!

We have another awesome new stamp and die set from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to release today! Do you guys love stars as much as I do? 'Cause, for reals, I REALLY love stars. Lots. That being the case, I REALLY love these stamps and dies! Lots.

Your Time To Shine

I die cut two of the stars, overlapping them, to create the shaker window. I then added my acetate and popped up a star frame over the smaller star to highlight it a bit. I traced around them with a grey pen for some added definition.

Shine (detail)

I heat embossed the sentiment on patterned paper for a quick and easy finish. This is just a shiny, bright, & happy card. I love it.

The Ink Squad has done some SERIOUSLY amazing things with this set! You really have GOT to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check them out!

AND...there is no waiting! These Twinkle stamps and Star Fri-dies are available for purchase in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps store right now! WOOT! WOOT!

Because it's a Kite. And a Shaker. It's a SHAKER Kite!

Yup. It's a shaker kite. And that, my friends, is reason enough. For reals, though, I totally am loving this new die set from Simon Says Stamp's Hop To It release!

Hello Kite

I pulled out the fun foam for this one. I find that for shaped shakers it is really easier to use a couple of layers of fun foam than trying to do tape all the way around the image. AND...the dies cut through the foam like buttah! Easy peasy, my friends!

Hello Kite (detail)

I filled this one with seed beads and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for a little bit of a different look. I kind of love the mix. And now I need more seed beads. Obviously.

If you haven't tried the fun shaker dies from Simon Says Stamp yet,you really must check them out! I think you will love them!

Have a Happy!!!

Hello, Beautiful!

Yup. You! Hi! Today I have a super fun card that I created using some goodies from the BRAND NEW This is the Life release from Simon Says Stamp! If you haven't checked it out yet, be sure to head over! This is one AMAZING release!

When I saw this Adult Beverages stamp set and the coordinating dies to go with it, I was instantly IN LOVE! There is also a SUPER cute sentiment set that goes with them and that is on it's way to me, however, I went with a a pretty one from the Summer Garden set for my card today.

Hello, Beautiful

I used the martini glass die to create a shaker martini! Read that carefully, a shaker. martini. Not a martini shaker. That's a different thing altogether. Although, the man in the suit does prefer shaken, not stirred. (Actually, he prefers the Vesper, which, by the way, is remarkably difficult to find on a menu and even harder to find a bar tender who knows how to make it right, but if you do, they are DELICIOUS! For reals. Good stuff.) Anyway... I filled my shaker with glitter and sequins. Those two things seem to compliment martinis well. HA! I used the straw die to create a shelf from wood grain cardstock and then I colored the cardstock with a black Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer and sparkle! YAY! Love that!

Hello, Beautiful (detail)

I used clear foam tape to adhere the shelf, as the narrow nature of it made white foam visible, so this is more subtle. For the olive, I stamped and die cut the olive and the toothpick and then slit the olive to slide the pick through it for 'proper' presentation. I mean, why do things the easy way? HA!

Seriously, though, this is an AWESOME release! You really should check it out! Also, if you order through my links you will be helping me out, too! YAY! You can find links to all of the products I used in my card below! Happy shopping!

Shake it! Shake it, like a Polaroid Picture

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

It's time to DANCE! Shake it! Shake it like a polaroid picture! OH, wait.... maybe that's not what they meant. Oh, well. I'm going to continue on with my personal dance party nonetheless. (Clap your hands if you feel like happiness is the truth!.....) There, now you have some music in your head to dance to, so you can join me. HA! BUT, this is not all for naught. (HA! I love using not and naught in the same sentence. *sigh* Words make me happy. K. Moving on.) The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week is a SHAKER challenge! That's right, we want you to SHAKE IT! The Design Team is using Simon Says Stamp exclusives. You don't have to use them to participate, but if you have them we would love to see you rock them!

You Are My Sunshine Shaker

Soooo.... it may or may  not have been my idea to do shaker boxes for a challenge and it may or may not have caused someone in our group to groan loudly. Which was much more amusing BEFORE I had my complete and utter shaker disaster. HAHAHA! For reals, though, they take a little thought, but they are SO much fun! You can do a shaker box or a confetti pocket! Anything that shakes. Make it happen, folks!

I also grabbed a page from the amazing Laura Bassen's book and added a bit of tissue paper and string beneath my shaker. I think she was the first person I saw doing the whole tissue paper thing and I am pretty sure that's brilliant. For reals, though.

Sunshine Shaker (detail)

AND...one lucky participant in this week's challenge will win a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store! WHAT?! Woot! Woot!

You can find the supplies I used for my card in the links below.

Have a Happy!
