Life is a Beautiful Ride!

Hello, friends! If you are reading this on the day it went up, well, you are reading as the entire contents of our home is being moved from one apartment to the other! Fun times! And a great reminder that life truly is a beautiful ride that brings us all kinds of new and interesting experiences! Our Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week is a Color Inspiration challenge! Check out this beautiful inspiration board!

I am a water girl. I absolutely LOVE the ocean. And summer. And the beach. I so love it all! This inspiration board made me so happy! And I had a blast coming up with a card inspired by it! I used the Beautiful Ride stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, as it seemed a PERFECT fit for this photo!

I did a lot of masking to create the background with Distress inks and then stamped the bike over it using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink. I used a black pen to fill in parts of the bike to keep it simple and give it a sketchy look. I then stamped and colored the puppy and used a bit more masking to add the flowers to the paper sack. I fussy cut these pieces and added them to the bike baskets. I LOVE how cute this turned out and the warm happy colors inspired by the inspiration photo make me happy!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and Imagine Crafts Blog Hop!

Hello, all! Today the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps design team and the Imagine Crafts design team are coming together for a super fun blog hop with LOTS of inspiration for you! If you came from Monica Edwards' blog, you are already on the right track! If not, you may want to hope on back to the Imagine Crafts blog to start from the top of the list!



I pulled together some fabulous stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and some of my favorite inks from Imagine Crafts to create this fun card! I stamped the Tin Roof background diagonally on the corners of my panel with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copics. I then stamped the sentiment from the MWAH! stamp set with Cardinal VersaColor pigment ink and clear embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Because I was able to stamp the sentiment in a bold color and emboss it for extra dimension, I was able to stamp it over the pattern without it getting lost.

How Would YOU Have Felt?

You guys. Seriously. The puns. I can't even help it. I just can't. even. HELP IT. So.... as you may have surmised by my ridiculous blog title, this week the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is all about FELT! Yup! We want to see how YOU feel..wait.. nope. It doesn't work when you go and change tenses, now, does it? HA! Well, we want to see how you FELT on your projects! Incorporate felt in some way and make it AWESOME! The Design Team is featuring the Simon Says Stamp Spring Plush collection today! If you have anything from this awesome collection, this is a great excuse to pull it out! If not, that's okay! Use whatever you have on hand to play along!



You GUYS!!! Stuffed carrots!!!! I had way more fun with this card, than, perhaps, one should. But, YOU GUYS! STUFFED CARROTS! I used the adorable Mini Plush Carrot Dies from Simon Says Stamp along with the gorgeous wool felt from Simon. A bit of quick stitching and some plastic Target bags for stuffing (yup... I like to recycle... lol!), and just like magic, I have adorable carrots. I dry embossed the background for some texture and interest. The sentiment is pulled from the Lawn Fawn Rooting For You stamp set. I love these stamps!



I added the faces with a pen. Yup. That easy peasy! YAY!

I Can't be Beet!

Heh. Heh. See what I did there? Well, officially, I'm asking that before you've seen my card, but, I bet you scrolled to the pictures first so.... see what I did there????? HAHAHA! Ah, man, I crack myself up. It's sad, really. Or not. However, all this to say that we do, indeed, have a brand new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for you! We are doing the POLKA! Ummm, YES!!!! I love this stamp set SO MUCH! It is way too much fun. For reals. I used a combination of Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp inks to create the layered stamping design. A bit of Lawn Fawn paper brings in the polka dots for a perfect frame around the beets. SO FUN!

Happy Wednesday, folks! Thank you all SO much for participating in our hop last week! Today is also the LAST DAY to enter my Firmoo Glasses giveaway, so be sure to check that out! A Real Splash!

Simon Says Stamp has added a new company to their shelves and I think you are going to LOVE these stamps! Pink & Main offers a seriously fun variety including graphic patterns, cute stuff, and basically just FUN stamps!



I used the absolutely adorable Mermaids stamp set to create this fun little card. I couldn't help making the fish yellow and blue. I just. couldn't. help. it.



I masked the fish and then did a simple line mask to do ink blending to create the water and the sand. I used a variety of distress inks to get that look. I then used pigment inks to stamp the coral and the plants. I love how pigment inks sit on top of dye inks so you can create layered scenes like this! I then used Copics to color the fish.

Thanks to Simon Says Stamp for sending these super cute stamps my way to try out! I love them! You will be seeing more from them around here! I promise!

Sunshine is My Favorite Accessory

The Simon Says Stamp Splash of Color release is now LIVE! YAY!!!! SO many fabulous new goodies in this release! I am particularly excited about the new ink colors! It really is a fantastic collection of inks. And yes, I am an ink whore. Of this I am aware, but for reals, you guys... Simon inks are definitely some of my most used inks. They are fantastic!

Heidi and her crew kindly sent me some new stamps, dies, and an ink pad to play with and I am loving them!



I combined the new Happy Block Greetings stamp set and the brand new Scallop Stitches Dies along with another stamp set from the Color of Fun release to create this summer time inspired card! I love this sentiment! Isn't THAT the truth, though? For reals.

That gorgeous teal/aqua-whatever-you-want-to-call-it ink color is called Lake Shores and it really is a fantastic tone. I love it! I combined it with the Simon Says Stamp Duckling and Slate. I really do love great ink. I just can't even help it.

Furry Friends!

You GUYS!!!!! This week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge couldn't be more perfect! It's a FURRY FRIENDS challenge! If you saw my post yesterday, you know that I have a brand new furry friend in my house. And because of that sweet little girl, I don't think my Butter Pecan Ice Cream flavored Coffee is going to be enough this morning, BUT, that's okay. Because she is great. And learning. And I love her to pieces. We are featuring Newton's Nook Design Stamps today. If you like animals, Newton's Nook is a GREAT company to check out! They have non-animal stamps, too, but LOTS of cute animals! I love them!

I used the super fun Beach Party stamp set for my card along with the Simon Says Stamp You Are Pawsome stamp set. The grass is actually the waves stamp from the beach set! I just colored it green and added visual texture to make it look like grass instead of water. I colored the images with Spectrum Noir pens. The clouds are cut with the Memory Box Puffy Cloud dies and accented just slightly with a grey Copic marker before adding with foam tape.

I used the brand new One With Nature stamp set. P.S. I am head over heels in love with this set. When I first saw it, I knew the images were just so perfectly 'me', but then, after moving past the distraction of AMAZEBALLS images, I saw the typewrite font and just about fell over with joy. In. Love. I tell you. For reals, though. I also used the new Wisteria ink pad. I'm not a big purples person, so my stash was missing them. I decided to purchase this one and man do I love it! I just may need more purples in my life.
