This new Tin Roof (RUSTED!) (p.s. No, the rusted part isn't part of the name of the set, but ... every.single.time. #thatisall) background was just begging me to do some ink blending! I love how the ink allows the details of the embossed background to really stand out! I layered the smile die several times to create a dimensional sentiment. I then went over it with a Spectrum Noir glitter brush pen for some added shimmer. Because: Glitter.

SMILE! It's time for the Pinkfresh June Blog Hop!

Hello, and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio June Embellishment Kit Release blog hop. You should be arriving to my blog from Christin's blog. If you are just finding the hop here on my blog and want to see some inspiration from my the entire design team, please start at the Pinkfresh Studio blog! I think you will enjoy this hop! This is a great kit and the team has done some really fun things with it!

I absolutely love these acetate pocket scrapbooking cards. And no, I don't really scrapbook, but they work SO well on cards! I created this card sort of like a shaker with not shakey bits. This allows the clear acetate card to have some space between it and the background, leaving room for light to get in there and just plain ol' make it look cool.

CHECK OUT that awesome wood veneer?! Seriously. I am in love with it. And that washi tape has already become a go-to for me. It's fabulous! And lined. Yes, it is on a paper liner so the gold doesn't transfer to the back of the tape beneath it which is awesome. Basically, this kit rocks. For reals, though.

Thank you so much for hopping with us today, be sure to Like Pinkfresh Studio on Facebook and Instagram, and comment on the Pinkfresh blog {the june kit release post} for a chance to win the June kit! The winner will be announced 22 June 2015.

What's that? You want to actually SEE the whole kit? Oh, okay, well, here then. Why didn't you just say so?! *winnk* *wink*

Ummm... yup. It's AWESOME. For reals. Like, tons. That die? Yes, it cuts out all of those letters in that alphabet stamp. And makes a cool tool to, oh, I don't know, create the perfect sized window for the card above! Yup. I totally used it for that.

Your next stop on the hop is Jessy's blog

Head on over to the Pinkfresh Studio blog for the full hop list.

Have a Happy, folks!

Smile!

I have another card for you today using the Simon Says Stamp June Card Kit. I told you I love this kit, right? 'Cause, you guys...I love this kit. For reals.

Is this card flawless? Nope. Is that okay? Yup. PLUS...the techniques I used actually worked, so I had to share it! HAD TO, my friends.

I used the awesome Smile circle die in the June Card Kit with the super fun striped patterned paper. LOVE the bright colors on this so much! I allowed it to cut through the edges and reassembled the pieces on my card front. I wanted the sentiment on that same strip, but due to the busy background, I felt a bit limited. That's when I had a brilliant idea!

I stamped one of the solid banners from the stamp set in the kit with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. This gave me a solid, neutral surface, without adding any layers or bulk to my card. I then stamped the sentiment over that, again with VersaMark, and heat embossed it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. The sentiment melted into the original powder, creating an awesome sentiment banner! I was so excited to try this technique that I forgot to treat my surface first, hence the imperfection. But you know what? I love it, nonetheless. Plus, that was my last strip of that paper, so it is what it is. Just keepin' it real here, folks!

Seriously, though... two things I'd like you to take away from this card today. 1. Try new things! You never know...they just may actually WORK! 2. Imperfection is totally okay. For reals. They are handmade cards. And it's just paper and glue. Don't stress.

Have a Happy!

It's DAY TWO! (Giveaway!)

Yes, that's right, today is DAY TWO of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps release! And we have THREE, yup, count 'em, THREE more new products to show off today! Holy lotsa new fabulous goodies, Batman!!! No turkey string today, but I'm hoping you'll stick around, anyway. (If currently confused, you may want to check out yesterdays post. For reals, though.)

You're Screwed

Gold and pastels, anyone? So, when CAS-ual Fridays Stamps comes out with these amazing bold sentiment stamps I just get a little super excited. I love them. I really and truly do. I loved this one so much I insisted on stamping it and embossing in GOLD three times. Because one just wasn't going to cut it, my friends. That, and seriously... wasn't that paper just BEGGING for this design? Totally, folks. Totally.

Whatever makes your guts grin

And now for a lesson  in white on white with a dash of color. You GUYS! These new Fun-fetti dies? Yeah, for REALS, they are super totally amazingly fantastic and I love them with all of my heart. No. Seriously, though.
