I decided to have a little fun with this one. I created my own turkey using the leaves from the Simon Says Stamp One With Nature Set and then added a fun sentiment from the Thanksgiving Table set. I used all Simon inks for this one, too. I absolutely LOVE my Simon inks! For reals.

Paper Piecing Really is Fun

I have a secret. I really love fussy cutting. No... for reals, though. I mean, I am ALL about the dies. (Go ahead...take a moment to turn 'All About the Bass' into All About the Dies in your head...I'll grant you that moment....   Done? K. Good. Fussy cutting....), but sometimes it is just plain FUN to do some good old fashioned machine-free fussy cutting. And that, my friends, is what I had in mind when I created this card.

Hello Neighbor

I used the amazing sThis Awesome House stamp set from Winnie and Walter along with a bunch of different Crate Paper papers to bring this all together. I love how the patterns all come together and create this adorable little house! I also made sure to keep the colors neutral so this card could easily be used for anyone!

Hello Neighbor (detail)

I placed bits of vellum behind each of the window panes to give them a more glass like look and to prevent the house pattern from showing through. I also used a gold Wink of Stella to add some gold in some areas and Copics to add the grey toned stones. The background was created by first layering the patterned papers and then cutting them with the Spellbinders Pierced Rectangle dies to get that great pierced and embossed border. I love how that finishes it off so fabulously and gives definition to the patterned paper edges.

And that's all for today, folks!

Have a Happy!

Ducks are Adorable

At least THIS duck is. He is from the Storybook stamp set from Avery Elle, and seriously, you guys. Adorbs. Super. Duper. Adorbs. For reals, though. I love this stamp set. I combined it with some soft colors for this sweet little birthday card that I created for the AEI♥U Challenge!

DSCN5308

I love the soft green with the soft, but still bold red on this. It makes me happy. I also super love the white enamel dots. They are subtle, due to the white on the card, but still add just that little extra bit of happy. The pierced circle? THAT, my friends is quickly becoming one of my absolute favorite die sets! It's from the new Spellbinders Celebra'tions collection and I LOVE IT!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I also still have a few more de-stash mystery boxes ready to ship. They are Medium Flat Rate USPS Priority boxes that I can ship to US addresses only. I am asking $45 SHIPPED for these boxes. (That is around $30 for the product! WHAT?!) They are SUPER stuffed and include both new and gently used stamp sets (over ten in each box), patterned paper, embellishments, ribbon/twine, some even include dies, inks, and more! Please email me if you are interested in purchasing one of these boxes!

Because Iron Man

Seriously. I'm not even sure what more to say on this one. Because - Iron Man.

We're Connected Iron Man Card

I used a photo to create a pattern. Obviously, I had to rework things to make it 2 dimensional for a card, and then I paper pieced the Iron Man mask using gold, black, and deep red cardstocks. The eyes are cut from white and then highlighted with marker to create a sort of glowing look. Yes. I love this card. I believe that goes without saying. But I said it anyway. Just in case. For reals, though.

We're Connected

I didn't want to go with just any old sentiment on this card, so, naturally, I pulled a quote directly from the Iron Man movies to use as a sentiment. It's pretty much perfect. I used some cute tiny alphabet stamps from Stampendous to stamp it in gold Delicata ink from Tsukineko so that it is incorporated into the design well.

Seriously, though... I'm not sure I could have had more fun with a card. I love Marvel movies, as some of you know all too well, and I SUPER love Iron Man and Avengers movies, so this one, well, this one is just about awesome. For reals. SO MUCH FUN to make!

Have a Happy!

Because Unikitty

Have you seen The Lego Movie? Yes? Awesome. No? Go. Do it. Now. Like, for reals, dude. It's Awesome. Actually, everything is awesome. (*insert cheesy grin here*)

To say I fell in love with the characters in this movie is an understatement. They are all AWESOME. For reals. Wicked awesome. So... being a fan of paper piecing, I figured I should create some of them in paper form. Thus, the Unikitty wall hanging.

Yup. This totally happened.

Uni-Kitty Wall Hanging

It's not a card. It could be, but I wanted to make her bigger. And awesome. The background paper is from the Echo Park Ombre 12x12 Collection Kit. I love these papers because they are just awesome basics. I used a variety of cardstocks for the paper piecing and then stamped the sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps RAD stamp set (which is awesome). It is all done by hand. No machines involved. A few enamel dots and a frame finished it off! Creating the pattern was honestly the hardest part, and, due to the straight lines (thanks, Lego!), that was actually fairly simple!

Unikitty (detail)

I did use a grey Copic to outline the pieces to give them a bit of a foundation, as well. Seriously, though, you guys. This was a super fun project. She was a BLAST to create!

Have an AWESOME!

You Brighten My Day!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Happy Wednesday, friends! This week is everyone's favorite over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog! It's ANYTHING GOES week!!! YAY!!! Let your creative wings take flight and create anything you'd like! The design team is using American Crafts products this week and we are LOVING THEM! Seriously, we won't even discuss how long it took for me to decide between Polka Dot Party and Plus One. I realized I used one last week, so ended up going with the other for this week. HA! If you have some American Crafts goodies on hand, we would LOVE to see you rock them, but they aren't required for the challenge!

You Brighten My Day

I also pulled out a bit of Paper Smooches cuteness for this one! The stamps just seemed to go so well with these papers and I just HAD to make it happen! I mixed and matched a bit for a unique design. I think it turned out pretty adorable, if I do say so myself! LOL! Oh. And Glitter. Because, well, glitter.

Now it's YOUR turn! You can link up to FIVE projects to the challenge. They need to be new, but other than that, ANYTHING GOES! Have fun with it! Play with your STUFF! One lucky participant will win a $50 Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store! Woot! Woot!!!

Also, if you LOVE Simon and LOVE these challenges, there is an opportunity for YOU to be on the Design Team! You can check out the Design Team call HERE!!! Good luck!

Flip Floppin' Goodness!

Did you guys SEE the awesome new flipflops2stamp release from The Stamps of Life? I am in LOVE with this set, you guys! For reals! Totes. AND..... now there is a fabulous companion set available called patterns4sandals AND coordinating dies, too. Yup. It's pretty darned fabulous. (If you are a Die Hard club member, you already have the dies! If not, they will be available soon! YAY!)

P.S. I may or may not have had a large Twix flavored coffee ordered light & sweet this morning. If I did, indeed, have that, I probably shouldn't be held responsible for anything that comes out of my fingertips. It's basically a cup of caffeine and sugar. Just puttin' that out there. I like to keep it real around here folks!

BUT... you should trust me on these stamps and dies being nothing less that AWESOMESAUCE!!! I am sharing two cards I created with them today!

One Step At a Time

For my first card, I went for a softer look. I created a simple heart using the flip flop stamps and a bit of masking and then watercolored over them. I added some paint splatter to bring in a touch of color and used some Lawn Fawn papers to add to the feel of the card. I super love the sentiments on this one!

One Step At A Time (detail)

I really like this color combination, too. It is soft and pretty, but still bold enough to carry it's own. I like it.

I'm Flippin' Out!

This one is a bit more on the fun side. I used a marker to add dots to create visual texture akin to sand around the flip flops. AND....this is my favorite part..I adhered the toe portion directly to the card and then added foam tape to the heel portion, so they look like they are ACTUALLY FLIPPING!!!!  I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!! (Okay...maybe that's too much, but whatevs, I'm going with it.)

Flippin' Out (detail)

I also used more Lawn Fawn papers and sequins on this one! The colors and simple patterns are so perfect for these cards! LOVE them!

Also, I wanted to give you guys a heads up... Simon Says Stamp is having a fabulous sale! Use the code HEARTU for 20% off storewide!!!  You can use my affiliate links (here and in my sidebar) if you would like!

And, with that, my friends, I wish you the happiest of Fridays!

Have a Happy!

I'm ALL Ears!

I recently bought a bunch of Mama Elephant stamps because I love them tons and tons and simply didn't have enough of them, SOOO...I treated myself.  YAY! Once they arrived I just wanted to stamp that cuteness over and over again!  I decided to play along with the Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge!

I'm All Ears

I combined the super cute Honey Bunny set with some adorable papers from Chickaniddy Crafts.  I love how well these worked together!  I added a bit of a free hand watercolor background behind the bunny and used my heat gun to dry it so I could push the pigments around a little.  I love doing that!  I heat embossed the sentiment using my brand new EK Success Powder Tool to prep the surface.  I am LOVING THAT THING!  So awesome for embossing!

I'm All Ears (detail)

I was super inspired by the colors, but also by the natural feel of the things in the photo.  I tried to incorporate those elements into my design.  A touch of natural burlap string from May Arts was the perfect finishing touch!

You can check out the supplies I used in the links below!  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a Happy!!!
