Deck the Halls With Inky Paws Blog Hop!

Welcome to the BLOG HOP! It has been so amazing to be a part of this wonderful Deck the Halls with Inky Paws celebration! I have loved Newton's Nook from the very beginning and I truly think I always will! Today I have two cards to share with you showcasing some amazing holiday products from Newton's Nook!

I created this slimline card using the Christmas Tree Line Stencil. I used a couple of different greens to stencil the tree and then used warm brown tone for the tree trunks. A bit of yellow for the stars tops off every other tree!

To add a bit of decor to the tree, I stenciled with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed using colorful embossing powders.

Finally, a strip of glitter paper and a simple stamped sentiment strip complete the card.

But, that's not all, folks! I have a second card to share with you today using one of my all time favorites, the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set

To create this design I stamped and embossed the snowflakes on a white panel and then used blending brushes to create the blue background. I used a few water drops to add an even snowier look and then spritzed the entire panel with shimmer spray to make it SPARKLE!

So much shimmer! Love that! The sentiment is an amazing die that comes in the Main Street Christmas die set. There are actually THREE great word dies in that set along with the coordinating dies for the Main Street Christmas stamp set. It's amazing. I think I said that already. But it is. For reals.

Not only is there a TON of inspiration, but we also have an amazing sale to share with you AND a chance to win a Gift Certificate!

Falalalala

So, this stencil thing is pretty real. And pretty awesome. This entire image was colored using, you guessed it... STENCILS and INK! I know, right? I used the Under the Christmas tree stamps, dies, and stencils from Pinkfresh Studio to create the image and then simply stamped and embossed the sentiment on a strip of cardstock to finish the look.

These layering stencils are seriously just amazing. I had so much fun creating this tree! I used a bit of gold ink to add some shine and sparkle to the decorations, too!

If you haven't jumped onto the current stencil trend, I highly recommend giving it a shot! It is so easy to do and the results can be absolutely amazing!

Heads up: The links in this post are affiliate links. It doesn't cost you anything extra, but if you choose to purchase from that link, I do get a share of the sale.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Just a Touch of Sparkle

I pulled out an older Altenew stamp set for this one. When I saw older....I mean like.... from their first year. LOL! But... you GUYS! It's the Boston skyline and I rarely get that in a stamp or anything else, so this ha always been one of my favorites. I used some color blocking based on a Jennifer McGuire technique video for the design and I really like how it came out.

I stamped an embossed the image in white and then used blending brushes to apply the ink, masking off a strip for the sentiment. I pulled the sentiment from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage stamp set, as I have always loved Christmas time in the city and it just suited this card so well.

And then, what did I pull out? None other than good old fashioned Stickles! I added just a touch of sparkle to the card to finish it off. It sparkles. It makes me happy. The end.

I hope you have a super terrific day!

Season of Wonder

So, I made this card and then I was so excited about it I just had to post it before the stack that I have waiting to be posted. It happens, what can I tell ya?

Here's the thing...since I took a super long break from crafting, a few trends have emerged on the technique side and I am trying to learn some new things and do different stuff. Stencils are EVERYWHERE now. Like... they are huge. And hot foiling seems to be pretty big, too. Sooooo...I decided to pull out some of my new Pinkfresh Studio goodies and practice a bit of both of those things!

I used the absolutely gorgeous Wintry Forest stencil set with some distress inks to create this scene. Now, folks, understand that I often struggle with color choices. I am not super great at brining a bunch of colors together, but I was SO HAPPY with this color combination. Seriously. I love it so much. It makes me happy. For the final stencil, I used VersaMark ink and then heat embossed the snow onto the branches to complete the look.

The sentiment is hot foiled using the Thrill of Hope hot foil plate set along with the coordinating dies. I cut the sentiment several times and stacked them to give it depth.

No joke. This is one of those cards that I just kept looking at and thinking... whoa! I made that! LOL! Don't you love it when that happens? Drop a link to a project you are particularly proud of in the comments and I'll come check it out!

Have a great day!

We Need a Little Christmas, Right this Very Minute

We need a little Christmas NOW!

Okay, so I know some of you would prefer to wait a bit, and that's cool, but I had to start on Christmas cards, at least.

Also, now that song is in your head and that's fun, sooo......

I did lots of things on this card. I don't often do lots of things, but for this one, I did lots of things. I started by stamping and embossing this wicked cool Simon Says Stamp Star to Star background in gold. I kind of love it. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Peace Hope Love Stencil and did some blending with Hero Arts bubblegum ink. That gorgeous medallion is die cut twice, once in black for the 'underneath' part (that's the technical term, naturally), and once from gold cardstock. A bit of foam tape raises the gold over the black.
Finally, the sentiment is an older Simon Says Stamp Joyeux Noel die cut from a nice bright pink cardstock.

I love that this card mixes fun stuff from several collections. I always appreciate when I can use supplies I've had around for awhile along with some of the newer stuff to create new looks.

And thus, we begin with the holiday cards of 2021. Yes, my friends, it has begun. Don't worry too much, though...I will have some others mixed in there, too. I promise.

Have a wonderful day!

I'm Only Jingling Half Way

If you are on Facebook at all, I'm sure you've seen this popular holiday meme circulating it's way around the interwebs.

Well, as I'm sure you can tell, I particularly love this one. *wink* *wink* When I saw these super adorable Holiday Grumplings stamps from Taylored Expressions, I simply HAD to have them. And this, naturally, was the first card I created with this set. And I love it. Lots. And lots. And a little bit of lots.

I'm only Jingling Half Way

Ummm... and lots. I colored that little critter with Spectrum Noir markers and added a strip of Pinkfresh Studio patterned paper along the edge for some color. A small bit of gold tape made for a perfect accent banner at the top of the card. I didn't want to do too much because... you know... only jingling HALF WAY.

Jingling Half Way (detail)

I got to play a little this weekend. Lots of time in the studio and I loved it! Since I started my new job I've had less time to create, which is okay, but I do love being able to dive in and just have some fun!

Peace and Happiness

I mentioned how much I LOVE the new Create Joy release from Simon Says Stamp, right? Well, I am mentioning it again. Because, you guys... FOR REALS, I love it. And this wreath die. I love this wreath die LOTS! I pulled out some glitter papers to create a super fun and super sparkly design! Because: GLITTER!

Peace and Happiness by Jennifer Ingle #JustJingle #SimonSaysStamp #Cards #Christmas

I die cut the wreath four times, once in each of the colors, and then reassembled the pieces to create my sparkly finished wreath. I then heat embossed the sentiment on vellum so that the wreath could shine through while still standing out enough to be seen.

Peace and Happiness by Jennifer Ingle #JustJingle #SimonSaysStamp #Cards #Christmas

I used the Ring Wreath die and the absolutely AMAZING So Very Merry Stamp set. I seriously love this sentiment set! They are gorgeous and some can be easily used outside of holiday stamping, as well! LOVE versatility.

Let's Celebrate!

So, I love this sketch from the current Retro Sketches Challenge. But I sorta reversed it. Because that's what I do. This is why I can't use sketches. I have an inability to follow them. HA! BUT...I have been dying to play with this awesome new Glass Effects Die from Spellbinders®! Seriously, you guys. I really love this die! I combined it with the gorgeous Snowflake Bliss Die Set for my graphic Christmas card.

Let's Celebrate

I used some pretty flocked papers as the background to add both warmth and texture. The gold adds a festive shimmer while keeping the entire design classic in nature. I kind of love how this one came together. These dies, you guys!!!! For REALS! I seriously love them. Amazeballs, I tell ya! Amaze.balls.

Let's Celebrate (detail)

You GUYS! These colors, and that soft, flocked texture just make me happy. It's like a hug. A hug on a card. *sigh* So, that's my card for today! I hope it feels like a hug to you, too. A shiny happy hug. Well, now that just sounds kind of weird, but whatevs. K. Moving on....

Warm Wishes from Adorable Snowmen

It's not really all that cold around here yet. Mornings have generally been in the 50's...sometimes just under, and the days are still in the 60's, sometimes over! BUT, this snowman was too cute to wait for frigid temps! I just love him!

Warm Wishes

Oh, for the LOVE of all things adorable! I used the Avery Elle Be Jolly stamp set along with the coordinating Avery Elle die to create my own tag! I just added a hole to the hat and pulled some shiny May Arts string through it for a super cute look! The patterned paper is from the Avery Elle The Everyday Collection 6x6 paper pad, with which I am currently having a very hot love affair. For reals, though. It's steamy.

Warm Wishes (detail)

The snowy hill is Crafter's Companion Shimmering Cardstock (GO! GET SOME! NOWISH!) in pearl. It is SOOO pretty in real life! I cut the hill using the Avery Elle Custom Panels die set. This is SUCH a useful set of dies. I can't say that enough! The image and the banner are colored with Spectrum Noir pens. I wanted my banner to be a perfect match, so I just colored white cardstock to get the right look! Love that! I used my blender pen to remove color from the scarf to create the polka dots. I REALLY love polka dots!

I was inspired to create this card by the Avery Elle TAGS challenge! So fun!

Also... before you go, I do have a question...I have been torn on my photos as of late. Do you guys prefer the straight on, no props photos or these slightly angled with minimal props shots like the one above? I just can't decide which I like better! I'd love to know your thoughts and which you are more likely to PIN! :) Thanks for your thoughts! You guys super rock!

Have a Happy!

Wishing You Eight Happy Nights

The Holidays are officially upon us and up first this year is Hanukkah!  (Yes, for reals... it starts the night before Thanksgiving this year.)  SOooo... if you are Jewish or if you have Jewish friends and you want to give them their holiday cards in a timely fashion, it's time, dude.  It's time.

DSCN2933

I created this fun (and super easy to mail) Hanukkah card using some FABULOUS stamps from CAS-ual Fridays stamps!  It's up on their blog today, too, actually!  YAY!!!!  I stamped the background repeatedly to cover the entire panel in a light ink and then overstamped with dark blue ink to achieve the layering without additional bulk.  To add just a bit of pizzaz I heat embossed Stars of David over each candle in silver.  I kinda love that.  Just sayin'.

Eight Happy Nights (detail)

I really kind of love this card.  It's simple, but super pretty and it just makes me smile!  I like to smile.  It feels better than that other stuff.. you know... like scowling and such.  Just sayin'.

I hope you have a fantabulous day with an extra ray of sunshine today!

Have a Happy!
