You're the Best!

When I saw this playful image over on Moxie Fab World Just Blocky Challenge, I just loved the bright color tones and the classic wood blocks. Such a simple toy, but still such a fun one! That inspired me to create a clean and simple design inspired by both the color in the photo and the material represented.



I pulled out some fun Mama Elephant stamps and some new markers I recently received recently. They are Sakura Koi watercolor markers and I absolutely LOVE how vibrant they are! I used the awesome pierced circle dies from Spellbinders® to die cut the window on the card and add some detail around it. LOVE that! I brought in the wood with three simple, unfinished wood stars from Studio Calico.



So... I may or may not have whipped this card together this morning before work and photographed it while the matte medium was still wet, so, yes, you can see it in that shot. Don't worry...it' dries clear and matte. LOL!

Summer Is Baseball

I love baseball. I really do. It's just a great game and it SCREAMS summer time! Combine baseball with the adorableness that is the House Mouse line from Stampendous, and, my dear friends, the fabulousness simply cannot be contained. I assure you of this, folks. I assure you.



Ummm... I love him. Lots. I stamped the image in a light color on watercolor paper and then watercolored for a no-line look. The stamp didn't have that 'B' on the hat, but it's okay, I fixed it! *wink* *wink* I added a super cute Simple Stories sticker with foam tape as the sentiment. This card came together fairly quickly, and super cute!



I am also linking this up to the House Mouse Relax and Enjoy Life Challenge (HMFMC175) because summertime baseball is one of my FAVORITE ways to relax and enjoy life! As a matter of fact...I am working on buying tickets to a game soon! GO RED SOX!

Hello, Beautiful... stamps. Beautiful stamps!

I recently purchased this absolutely GORGEOUS Summer Garden stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It is a collaboration set between Simon and Mama Elephant, so that alone pretty much guaranteed greatness! I am not usually much of a floral person, but they have been growing on me lately, and this one was just TOO good to pass up. I pulled it out to play this week and I am IN LOVE! This is one of my favorite cards ever! I just really love it. I hope you do, too. HA!



I stamped the flowers in VersaFine ink on watercolor paper. I like the way that pigment inks stamp on watercolor, so I'm finding myself using those more when I know I'll be painting a bit. I painted the flowers, but the leaves, I chose to stamp in colored ink. To create the scatters, I pulled out the amazing new Custom Panels die set from Avery Elle. I die cut the hexagons from watercolor paper, painted them, added some shimmer with my Wink of Stella clear brush, and then coated them with Glossy Accents to create my own embellishments that matched my stamping perfectly! I LOVE THEM!!! I also used one of the dies to create the curve at the bottom of the card.

Animal Antics Coming Your Way!

Yup! It's time for a brand new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and this week we are having some fun with Animal Antics! We want to see you using critters of all types in your projects this week! The design team is using some fabulous goodies from Stampendous! Stampendous! offers a LOT of adorable critter stamps, along with beautiful florals, gorgeous vintage, and even fun steampunk designs!



For my card I combined this adorable House Mouse Gifts to Tie stamp with a great sentiment from My Favorite Things' Birthday Greetings set. I watercolored the image and then added a big 'ole splotch of watercolor before stamping the sentiment. SO fun! Some quick work with my Wink of Stella brush adds just a touch of sparkle!
