Fun in the Rain with Chickaniddy Crafts

Today is my final post as Guest Designer on the Chickaniddy Crafts blog. I have absolutely LOVED working with Chickaniddy! Their collections are just so much fun! I have used the super fabulous Jolly Good collection, once again, showcasing the incredible versatility of this line. I love it. For reals, though.

Hello Friend

I pulled out not only the papers, but stickers and die cuts for this super fun rainy day hello card. I used simple techniques to add both color and dimension and you can read about those on the Chickaniddy blog! I just love how all of the elements come together so well!

This Spellbinders® sentiment die was the perfect fit for this fun, rainy day hello! I sort of love it.

A Wintry Hello with Chickaniddy Crafts

Today is my second day on the Chickaniddy Crafts blog as Guest Designer. Can I tell you how much I am LOVING this Jolly Good Collection SO MUCH! It was great for holiday cards, perfect for New Year cards, and now, I've used it for a pretty winter Hello card! And just wait... I have another great use for this collection coming later this month! Seriously...it does it all. And that, my friends, is the mark of an awesome collection, if you ask me!

Winter Hello

For this card I used three different patterned papers and cut them into strips to create a unique and pretty background. I added a small strip of washi tape and then the rest of the card was easy peasy! EASY PEASY, you guys! For reals, though.

I dusted the back of a snowflake sticker with my EK Success powder tool and used foam dots to attach it to the card. I used a mini brad from the Jolly Good collection in the center. I love the finish on these brads... not too shiny, but not dull, either. They have a great texture and the colors are gorgeous! I then grabbed a stamp from the Date Night collection to stamp the sentiment and added an enamel star to finish it off.

Be sure to head on over to the Chickaniddy Crafts Blog for TONS of inspiration, you guys! Their team is really amazing!

A Very Chickaniddy New Year!

I am very excited to be guest designing over at Chickaniddy Crafts for the month of January! I love Chickaniddy products and I am so excited to share some fun projects with you over the course of the month! Today is my first post over on the Chickaniddy blog! I created a super fun New Year's card with a vellum pocket shaker feature! SO FUN!

New Year with Style

I filled the vellum pocket with die cut pieces from the Jolly Good Die cuts collection. They are numbered and absolutely PERFECT for New Year's! I stitched the pocket shut for a fun accent!

Some Birthday Wishes

Things you need in your life: Twix Iced Coffee. Sugar with extra milk. If you happen to be local, Heavenly Donuts makes an awesome one.

You're welcome.

K. As I sip my coffee, I also want to share that I have not one, folks, but TWO, that's right, TWO fabulous cards up over on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today! Okay, well, you can decide if they are fabulous or not, but that particular sentence needed an exaggerative adjective. (No, exaggerative isn't a word. Or, at least it wasn't. Until ten seconds ago. When I used it for the first time, thereby inventing it. For reals, though.)

Best Wishes on Your Birthday

I created this one using the Mum's the Word stamp set. It may look like  Mother's Day set at first, but seriously, you guys, it is just an awesome set for lots of card types! I layered papers from Chickaniddy designs and found a couple of ink colors in my stash that I feel worked SO well with these papers! It's a happy card.

BUT! I told you I had not one, folks, no, not just one card on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog, but TWO! Yes, that's right, TWO fabulous cards! (Insert The Count laugh here.) Yes. I do. I'm not showing you the other one here, so you are just going to have to mosey on over there to see it! HA!

Okay, fine, I'll be nice and give you a sneak...

Sneak of Two Hearts Card

Look. There's sparkle. You know you don't want to miss sparkle, so just head on over there and check it out! Don't forget to leave some love!

Have a Happy, folks!

Sometimes You Just Need to Play!

And that, my friends, is how this card came to be. I recently bought this fabulous Surf's Up! Stamp set by Avery Elle. It was totally an impulse purchase. I didn't know why I needed it, but I NEEDED it. I know you've been there. You GET me.

BUT...that being the case, I realized that it was a little bit outside my usual style and kind of tricky for me. HOWEVER, I was not going to let that stop me, nosiree! So, I took it out, along with the Avery Elle Gift Tags stamp set and the coordinating tag dies and went to town! Or to the beach. (he-he... see what I did there?) Yeah, k... so moving on....

Mahalo

This was so much fun to create!!! I used a few different fun techniques. Firstly, I used a lighter color on the tag frames and then rolled the stamp edges in some darker ink to get a neat, beachy feel on those. The part I am most excited about is the wood grain on the van. I did that with several Spectrum Noir pens and I just love how it turned out! Even the sentiment found itself in technique-land, as I stamped it in a light blue color, wasn't thrilled with how it coordinated, so I went in with the Spectrum Noir pens and added some shading and blending to create a unique look. I kind of love it.

I am still new at this coloring thing, but I am really enjoying learning new techniques and trying out new things! This was definitely a fun one! Don't forget to PLAY sometimes. It's fun. I promise. (And I totes wouldn't lie about something like that, dude. This is serious stuff. For reals.)

I am entering this card in the Avery Elle AEI♥U Challenge: One Word.

You can find the complete list of the supplies I used in the links below.

Have a Happy!!!
