Birthday Wishes

Did you SEE the incredible inspiration photo for the Cure for the Monday Blues challenge this week? Oh, for the love of all things gold and shiny! I HAD to play along this time around. I simply HAD to do it.

And when I saw that, I also thought of the fabulous Sketch Challenge over on the Winnie & Walter Birthday Bash festivities, and well, my friends, it was just meant to be. I pulled these two bits of inspiration together to create a super fun card that I love super lots and uses a whole bunch of my favorite companies! WHAT?! Yup. Totally.

Birthday Wishes in Gold

I die cut some DCWV chalkboard cardstock (yes, they make that, yes, it's awesome, yes, you need some) using the pierced circle dies from Spellbinders which I have raved about so many times now, that I'm just assuming you own them, and then heat embossed some gorgeous Winnie & Walter stamps in GOLD! Because...gold. I stamped a simple heart with Gold Delicata ink to create that polka dot feel from the inspiration photo. LOVE!!! A bit of Bossy Joscie flair and May Arts ribbon add just the right finishing touch along with a puffy heart sticker from Pinkfresh Studio. (All supplies will be linked at the bottom of this post. That was a lot, I'm aware. HA)

Oh...and gold cardstock. I seriously love that gold cardstock. I will be honest, it wasn't the cheapest stuff in the world, but I invested in a pack and I am using every SCRAP of that stuff! For reals, though. It's gorgeous.

Here is that supply list I mentioned (Links to Simon Says Stamp are affiliate links. Your support is always appreciated.)

Cardstock: Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth White, DCWV Chalkboard Cardstock, Simon Says Stamp black
Stamps: Winnie & Walter Happy Christmas, Winnie & Walter a Tree for All Seasons, Winnie & Walter Picture Perfect
Dies: Pierced Circles by Spellbinders
Ink: VersaMark, Gold Delicata by Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko
Sticker: Up in the Clouds Collection by Pinkfresh Studio
Flair: Bossy Joscie
Ribbon: May Arts
Embossing Powder: Stampendous! Gold Detail
Tools: Grand Calibur Die Cut Machine, Milwaukee Heat Tool, Fiskars Stamp Press

Have a Happy!

SERIOUSLY, thank you.

No. Seriously. For reals, though. I sort of kind of lots of LOVE this Seriously die from Lil' Inker Designs. LOVE. Seriously, though. AND, I also happen to love this wicked fun Beadwork stamp set from Altenew, sooo... I decided to play with them together! YAY! I am playing along with the Cynthia Rowley Runway Inspired Challenge, inspired by this fabulous photograph.

I particularly loved the linear feel of this inspiration photo along with the gold. Because, gold. I wanted to emphasize both of these pieces in my design, so I pulled out my Tsukineko Delicata ink and went to town with the Beadwork stamp set!

I love how this stamp set allows you to create your own pattern. I created a pattern that fit nicely on the white panel (Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth White) and then trimmed a thin strip of black cardstock to enhance that linear feel. I stamped the 'thank you' portion of the sentiment with Tsukineko VersaFine in Onyx Black. I love the detail you get with sentiments stamped in VersaFine! I then added the die cut 'Seriously' and popped the panel up with foam tape.

Seriously Thank You (detail)

I am also linking this up to the CAS challenge over at Virginia's View Challenge! Have an awesome day, my friends!

Emboss it. Emboss it Real Good.

Yeah... that title.  Not so sure it works.  Whatevs.  I'm going with it.  SO...here's the deal.  Crafter's Companion is releasing some BRAND NEW embossing folders today and they are AMAZING!!!!  Seriously, you guys.  These are GORGEOUS!

I used the super pretty Spring Morning folder on my card for today.  I simple embossed white Crafter's Companion cardstock (my personal fave) with the folder then added a bit of gold ink to the raised portions.  It's shimmery and happy!  YAY!

Just Because

The sentiment is from the Souffle's Sentiments set.  Trust me.  You will be seeing more from that adorableness soon!  SO CUTE!

Just Because (detail)

Head on over to Crafter's Companion to check out the other new goodies along with the big BIRTHDAY SALE they have going on!!!  Yup.  Discounts, people.  Discounts.  AND...there are also a couple of great giveaways going on (as in... full set of Spectrum Noir markers kind of great) over on the Facebook page, so check that out, too!

Watercolor Blocks

I am super excited to share today's card!  I pulled out some watercolor crayons to try something a little different and I LOVE how it turned out!  This week, the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge is COLOR BLOCKS!  I used a stencil to watercolor my blocks of color for the background of my card.  LOVE IT!

Hello My Friend

I used a watercolor panel and then secured my stencil over it before coloring each spot with the water color crayons.  I then used a waterbrush to create the watercolor look.  I SO love it!  For the sentiment, I die cut the bubble tag die and stamped part of the sentiment, I then die cut the happy die in several colors and glued the layers together to give it a nice girth.  I really love this technique!

Hello My Friend (detail)

Be sure to head on over to CAS-ual Fridays to check out the amazing inspiration and to link up your own awesome CAS card showcasing color blocks!  I can't WAIT to see what you've made!  You can find the products I used on my card (or similar) in the links below.

A Very CAS-ual Curtain Call

We have a bit of an EXTRA fun challenge for you over at CAS-ual Fridays this week!  We are joining up with the folks over at the CURTAIN CALL challenge!  You make one card and get to link up to BOTH!  Whoa!  Seriously, though, dudes, it's pretty fabulous.

You can see the inspiration photo above.  CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is sponsoring, so I decided to pull out one of the BRAND NEW sets that we just released this week for my card!  I used the Wallflower set to create my own pretty shiny Christmas tree!  YAY!

Peach on Earth

The colors in the photo were a bit tricky for me, so I decided to give those a try along with the tree theme for my take on the photo.  I like challenging myself and I really love how this turned out.  I never would have thought to pull out those ink colors together and they really work!  YAY!

Peace on Earth (detail)

Ummm... I heart Wink of Stella.  Yup.  Totally used it to add glitter to the tree.  Totally LOVING IT!!!!  Sparkle!

So... head on over to CAS-ual Fridays to check out the inspiration there AND head on over to Curtain Call and check out the inspiration THERE, too ... THEN  make something AWESOME and link it up, chica!

A Bit of Golden Sunshine

Hello, friends! I have a super fun card for you today using an absolutely AWESOME metallic ink! IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Delicata™ Pigment Ink is an exquisite gold ink that doesn't tarnish or lose it's luster after stamping. Gold. Real, live, shiny, happy gold. LOVE IT! I combined it with the IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink in Pearlescent Orange for a simple, but super shiny card! Here's how I did it!

Supplies:
(See links to all below post)
IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Delicata™ Pigment Ink - Gold
IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Brilliance™ Pigment Ink - Pearlescent Orange
IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink - Tuxedo Black
Avery Elle Bright Days
Crafter's Companion White cardstock
scissors
Foam Dots

Step 1

Create a card base with white cardstock (I use Crafter's Companion white...it's my favorite!). Mount the sunburst stamp on a block or stamp press.

Step 2

Ink the stamp with the Gold Delicata ink and press onto card base. LOOK at how SHINY it is!!!! LOVE THAT!

Step 3

Stamp the small circle in Pearlescent Orange Brilliance ink on a scrap of white cardstock and cut out. Adhere the circle to the center of the sunburst with a foam dot.

Step 4

Stamp the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Momento ink below the sunburst.

You Brighten My Day!

I hope you give Delicata a try! It's SO FUN!!!!

Have a Happy!
