My Door is Always Open

Cold as ICE!  Yup.  It's pretty much THAT throughout most of the United States at the moment, so, this challenge seems to be quite apropo.  We have ICE inspiration for you today!  Laura created this fabulous mood board to get us started on the ICE challenge theme.  The Design Team is playing with Glitter Ritz and Tim Holtz Distress Glitter products this week!  Woot!

I recently got a few new sets from Paper Smooches and I have been DYING to try them, so, seeing as the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge is Anything Goes this week, I decided to combine that with our Simon Says Challenge for my fun shaker card!

My Door is Always Open

For this one I used both kraft and white woodgrain cardstock from Simon Says Stamp.  I truly love that stuff!  I created a shadow box with glittery edges to add that icy, snowy feel.  The house, from Bitty Bungalows, is nesteled into the snow and I just love that!  I really wanted a chimney on my house for my little scene, but I loved this particular house and door (so I could leave it open to go with the sentiment, of course) so I simply borrowed a chimney from one of the other stamps in the set with a bit of masking!  I love it!

For the shaker element, I added a flurry of sequins to create a gently, sparkly snow inside the box.  I wish I had taken a photo from the other angle so you could see the door propped open better, but it is.  I promise. HA!

Be sure to head on over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the team has created and to link up YOUR NEW Ice inspired creation!

One lucky participant will win a $50 Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  Woot!  Woot!  What are YOU going to create?!

Sands of Time

First of all... ummm... best name of a stamp set ever.  I don't know why I love it so much, but it totally sounds like daytime television (which I never really watched other than game shows on sick days, but still).   Can't you just hear the intro....

....and now... Through the Sands of Time......   yadda yadda yadda.....  *insert cheasy music here*.

LOVE.  IT.

BUT...there is NOTHING cheasy about this awesome stamp set!  And I think you will agree!

Forever and Ever

Michele over at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps is pretty much a genius.  Do you see what she did there?  Turned the sand into a heart shape as it is falling through the hourglass?  Do ya see it, folks?!  'Cause, DUDES, that's just fantastic.  For reals!

Sands of Time

Happy Monday, folks! I am quite happy to be getting back to routine, I must say! I hope your 2014 is off to a fabulous start! Today I am excited to share a new die company you may or may not yet be familiar with! I have a fun project here on my blog, one on their blog, and a giveaway, too! Woot! Woot!!!!

Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Sizzix, Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by U.K. designer Stephanie Weightman.

Ornamental Love

I created this fun, sparkly Valentine using the Ornaments and Tags #2 die set. I LOVE these dies! They cut really beautifully and the design is just gorgeous! I know ornaments are more traditionally used for Christmas, but I thought it worked so well with these fun Love stamps from Simon Says for a Valentine card. Of course, the glitter paper is pretty much fabulous, too. Just puttin' that out there.  That gorgeous white string is from May Arts and I love it with all of my heart.

In a Word

This week we are examining the coming year over at CAS-ual Fridays.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for this one.  I had contemplated comitting to a word this year, but hadn't settled on one.  As I was attempting to clean up the post Nov/Dec disaster that was my studio, I came across this flair button on my desk.  There it was.  My inspiration!  The Hubbums' and I have been discussing some things lately and our 'narrative' has come up in the conversation several times.  It is interesting what you can and cannot picture yourself doing based on your narrative.  So, what makes that possible?  Well, changing your narrative!  So this year, I am going to focus on my STORY!  Well, okay, OUR Story, but you know what I mean!  *wink*

My Story

I used some fun new Studio Calico papers, the inspiring Bossy Joscie flair, of course, and the Big Thanks stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays to pull this one together.  I had to add some sparkle because, well, quite frankly, if it's MY story it will most CERTAINLY have sparkle!

My Story (detail)

So...have you considered a word yet?  Well, come on over and join in the In a Word challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays!

CHEERS!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Welcome to 2014!  It's gonna be AWESOME!  Over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge we are celebrating ALL things NEW!  I, of course, had to use this chance to create something fun for the New Year, so I created a bottle tag and a coordinating card for this week!  The design team members have pulled out some fun goodies from My Favorite Things to show off this week, too!  I used the awesome Concentric Circles stencil for my card and tag!  I also pulled in some awesome stamps and dies from Avery Elle!

New Year's Card and Bottle Tag

I love this fun Cheers Die Set and Cheers Stamp set from Avery Elle!  I used silver and gold inks and sponged them on using the stencil and then stamped a bit, too!  I created my own enamel dots to add to the card!  SO FUN!

Celebrate Wine Tag

One lucky participant in this week's challenge will, of course, win a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  Woot!  Woot!

So what NEW inspired creation are YOU going to link up this week?  I can't WAIT to see it!  Just make sure your project is newly created and that you link back to the challenge!

Have a Happy!!!
