We are celebrating (inter)National Scrapbook Day and we are doing it in STYLE here on Just Jingle! Lots of inspiration, lots of prizes, and LOTS of fun!

Bazzill Basics Paper (inter)National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop Event #bazzillbasics #NSD
Happy National Scrapbook Weekend! The Bazzill Basics Design team is excited to celebrate with you! Today we want to share some inspiration to help kick off your weekend creativity!

Now, let me remind you, I am a card maker. Yes, it is true, I began this journey as a scrapbooker, but the simple truth is, I was WAY better at card making and they sort of took over my life. But, JUST for you guys, I decided to create an actual scrapbook layout since, well, it is National Scrapbook Day. For reals, I totally did it. (This is a rare sighting folks, I assure you! You may want to take out your cameras, however, do so slowly and quietly as to not frighten the card maker.)

Pictures of You by Jennifer Ingle @Bazzillbasics @Jennifer Ingle #bazzillbasics #scrapbooking

I was inspired by my amazingly talented friend Beck Beattie to give a watercolor background a shot and then layer stuff over it. I am a clean and simple girl to the core, so I kept it fairly simple, but I absolutely LOVE this photo and I actually am thrilled with how this layout highlights it. It tells the story. My story. Our story. And that, my friends, is what scrapbooking is all about, isn't it? For reals, though. I do have some hidden journaling on the pull out tag behind the photo, but I wanted to keep the page within the space I had intended and kind of like that the journaling is just my own, tucked away in there.

I Believe I Can Fly

Yes, we are flying high with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week! The theme is Things That Fly and the design team is featuring American Crafts products this week. You don't have to use them to play along, but we would love to see what you do with them if you have some on hand!

I pulled out the Shimelle 6x6 paper pad along with the new Tim Holtz birds, with which I may or may not be slightly obsessed, to create a fun encouragement card for today!

Hang In There

I used the Simon Says Stamp curved die to die cut my paper to create a 'wire' of sorts for my bird to stand on. I then pulled the sentiment from the Mama Elephant Up and Away stamp set. I colored the bird using various greens and yellows from Spectrum Noir. I just love how he turned out! I did add a touch of an icy blue to his eyes, as well.

I added a few little Simon Exclusive heart sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for a bit of shine.

Because They Brought Us Together

I am sure many of you have heard the news that Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine will no longer be publishing after February of 2015. This magazine has been such a huge part of so many lives, including my own. The editors have worked hard to not only create an amazing publication, but to bring together a community of crafters. I have met some of my closest friends through my connections due to Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking and they have helped me in many other ways, as well, including making me feel confident in my work. Today we have this amazing blog hop to bid the magazine farewell and to congratulate the editors for a job well done.

High Five!

I couldn't bring myself to create a goodbye or even a thank you card because those felt too 'finished'. Instead, I created this HIGH FIVE! card. You deserve it, folks! A high five to you for all you have done and a high five to you for all you WILL do. Jennifer, Stacy, Susan, Kerri, Holly, Matt, and Melinda - Thank you. You guys are amazing. High Five!

You may have come from the Operation Write Home blog, if not, you may wish to head back to Jennifer McGuire's blog for the start of the hop. Next on the list is A Creative Journey! Happy Hopping!

Have a Happy.

Patterned Paper: Shimelle Collection

Another Fabulous Year of Being AWESOME!

Just a reminder... I need your votes for the Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking World Card Making Day Contest Honorable Mention! My card is the floral birthday card! Thank you so much to those who have already voted! You guys ROCK!!!

Today I am sharing a simple, but totally fun card. Date stamps. Somehow I feel like many of us end up with them somehow and then we tend to forget to use them. Or not have any clue HOW to effectively use them. I was definitely in this group, anyway. I received this super cute date stamp from the Shimelle Collection. It's adorable. Seriously. BUT, seeing as I don't scrapbook very often, AND, even when I did, I generally didn't use date stamps, I wasn't sure what to do with it. So, naturally, I took it out of the package and stared at it. Because that always works. HA!

Awesome dates

And then I remembered THIS awesome sentiment from Altenew. Yup. Combined with my date stamp, we had LIFT OFF! I changed the dates, including the year, on the date stamp with each use to get all kinds of dates on my card. They go backwards, they go forwards, they basically go all over the place! And that works SO AWESOMELY WELL with the sentiment and I LOVE that. (And yes, awesomely is a word... spell check told me so. No...for reals, though..I was kind of surprised by that, so I thought I should share. Awesomely. It's a word.)

So, in conclusion...

  • Date stamps are actually kind of awesome.
  • Awesomely is totally a word.
  • You actually CAN, awesomely, get ideas by staring at supplies you have no clue how to use.
Don't forget to vote. Awesomely. For reals, though.

The end.

Have a Happy!

Coffee Time!

It's time for a brand new challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog! (I really need to find a new opening line for these Wednesday posts... hmmm... anyway...moving on...) This week we are creating Thinking of You themed cards. The design team is using Prima products for this challenge. You don't have to use them, but if you have some, we'd love to see how you work them into your projects!

Coffee Time

I love these adorable wood shapes from the Prima Coffee Break Collection! They are so much fun! I combined them with this SUPER CUTE coffee cup die set from My Favorite Things. I love it. Lots. Like, super duper lots. For reals, though. That is an awesome die set.

Shanghai Day and Night

I may or may not have fallen instantly in love with the inspiration photo for the Cure for the Monday Blues Challenge this week.

Seriously, though, you guys!!! Isn't that just a happy place? Clean, beautiful whites, shiny things, and food! What more could you possible need? HA! I was very much drawn to the white on white with just a touch of gold and pale pinks, so, despite knowing the difficulty of photographing white on white cards.... I did it. What can I say? Life is all about the challenges, right? Right. K. Good. Now... my card...

Day and Night

I did mention the difficulty of photographing white on white, right? I promise it is gorgeous in real life. LOL! I stamped the Shanghai skyline from Altenew's Sketchy Cities Abroad stamp set and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I really love the detail in this image! I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in gold and then added a strip of pale pink paper from the Shimelle Collection and a small bit of gold washi tape from Little B Designs.

Day and Night (detail)

Before you go, just a reminder that tomorrow will be my TAKE THREE post for my Winnie & Walter Leading Lady position this month! Be sure to stop by because there is some VERY cool stuff coming around here!
