It's DIEcember Time!

Yup! It's that time of year, again! It's DieCember time at Simon Says Stamp! That means an entire release of awesome new dies! WOOT! Heidi was kind enough to send me the new Stitched Dress Up Tags to play with for the release! Ummm.... I absolutely LOVE THEM! These are officially new staples in my die stash. They are fantastic!

Tag Trio

I created three tags using the new dies, bringing in the So Very Merry stamp set to use with them. I cut the tag toppers with glitter paper to add some sparkle to the design! I colored the images, minimally, with Spectrum Noir markers for a bit of color.

With All My Love

You know when you get a new product in the mail and all of the sudden have ALL KINDS of fun ideas on how to use it? Well, that is just exactly how I felt when the Tic Tac Toe Fri-Die from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps arrived in my happy little studio! Today is my day over on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog and I created this fun card to share with you!

With All My Love

Instead of using the die as an actual tic tac toe board, I decided to use the grid to cut quilt squares from some gorgeous patterned papers from Crate Paper. I die cut several different patterns and then used one of the grids as the guide for adhering the squares. The gold glitter heart is die cut using one of the 'pieces' dies in the set. LOVE IT!

With All My Love (detail)

I stamped the 'With All My Love' with Pale Tomato ink from Hero Arts and then overstamped the 'love' with Smokey Grey VersaFine. These colors worked SO well with these patterned papers! I love it when that happens!

Be sure to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check out the inspiration you will find there. There girls knock my socks off! Well, not literally. That would be weird. But they are really good at what they do. For reals.

Noel and a GIVEAWAY!

Well, the Christmas season is definitely in full swing. I know this because I am drinking eggnog flavored coffee as I type. Yup. Eggnog iced coffee. It's kind of fabulous. For reals, though. BUT, Christmas is a time for giving, sooooo.... I have a GIVEAWAY! Yes, my friends, I am giving away two gorgeous Spellbinders® die sets today! But first, a card...

DSCN6202

I created this fun window card using the absolutely GORGEOUS Heirloom Reflections Die set. This set has four BEAUTIFUL ornaments (two dies each) in it and I just love them! They are so pretty! I combined them with some DCWV Glitzy papers and the and the BoBunny Candy Cane Lane paper pad for a simple, but very stand-out card! I love how this turned out! The ornament is hung in the die cut circle so it sort of spins in the window. So fun!

What's that? You really love those dies and you want them? OKAY! I can help you with that! I have both the Heirloom Reflections set AND the Holiday Greetings die to give away to ONE lucky winner! It's my Christmas present to YOU, my readers!

Spellbinders® Winter Sneak Peek and GIVEAWAY! - Day 2

It is SNEAK PEEK time over at Spellbinders® and we are EXCITED! We have some AMAZING new releases coming out at CHA and I am excited to give you a quick peek at two of those great die sets today! The Around The World set and the International Luggage dies are SO MUCH FUN, you guys! For reals! I love these dies! They are great for CAS designs, Shabby Chic designs, vintage, layering...you name it! Seriously... they are super fabulous. For. Reals.

First, I am going to show you how I created this super fun card!

Spellbinders® Supplies:
Cross Promotional Partner Supplies:
Other Supplies:
  • Ink: Blue Denim
  • Chipboard
Instructions:

1. To create the cloud background on this card, I used dies to create an embossing plate. This is a super easy technique, that makes your dies even MORE versatile! LOVE THAT! To create the plate, cut a cardstock panel and then die cut the clouds repeatedly from chipboard (I used old product packaging for mine.) and adhere them to the cardstock panel.

Step 1

2. Create a sandwich in your die cut machine as you normally would for an embossing plate to emboss.

Step 2

3. Die cut the suitcase, airplane, and passport. ink the passport and insert into suitcase 'pocket', adding adhesive where needed.

4. Die cut circle, using both the cut die and the piercing die, from the textured paper and adhere to embossed background.

Step 5

5. Brush powder or cornstarch to the back of sentiment sticker. Using foam tape, adhere string to sentiment and to airplane die cut. Adhere to card with the foam tape.

6. Adhere suitcase with passport to the panel using both a tape runner and foam tape as needed. Adhere panel to card base with foam tape.

I love how cute this card turned out and I can use my custom embossing plate again and again! It is always awesome to get the MOST out of supplies! LOVE IT!

AND... to show you another direction you can go using these same die sets, I created this fun shabby chic luggage tag! LOTS of layers on this one! I used some basic tags along with leather and fabric pieces from the A Gilded Life line. If you haven't checked those out yet...dude... DO IT!

Let's Celebrate!

So, I love this sketch from the current Retro Sketches Challenge. But I sorta reversed it. Because that's what I do. This is why I can't use sketches. I have an inability to follow them. HA! BUT...I have been dying to play with this awesome new Glass Effects Die from Spellbinders®! Seriously, you guys. I really love this die! I combined it with the gorgeous Snowflake Bliss Die Set for my graphic Christmas card.

Let's Celebrate

I used some pretty flocked papers as the background to add both warmth and texture. The gold adds a festive shimmer while keeping the entire design classic in nature. I kind of love how this one came together. These dies, you guys!!!! For REALS! I seriously love them. Amazeballs, I tell ya! Amaze.balls.

Let's Celebrate (detail)

You GUYS! These colors, and that soft, flocked texture just make me happy. It's like a hug. A hug on a card. *sigh* So, that's my card for today! I hope it feels like a hug to you, too. A shiny happy hug. Well, now that just sounds kind of weird, but whatevs. K. Moving on....

I am also linking this up to the ShowCASe your style challenge!

Cheers,Sunshine!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Today we have a brand new Simon Says Stamp Challenge for you over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog! The challenge this week is SUMMER! We want to see your summer time creations. The design team is using Simon Says Stamp exclusives this week! You don't have to use them to join in, but we would love to see them if you have them!

Cheers, Sunshine!

For my summer time card I used the Adult Beverages stamp set, die set, and accompanying sentiments. I love this fun bunch of goodies! I stamped and embossed the drink glass on vellum and then used distress markers to color it and blend to create a yummy looking drink! The other pieces were stamped on white cardstock and colored with markers. I slit the glass so the straw could go through and slit the cherry to allow for the toothpick to go through that. Lots of fun stuff!

Cheers Sunshine (detail)

Now it's your turn! Create something with the summer theme and link it up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!

Also, don't forget about the kids challenge currently running, too! Your kiddos can create a something fabulous and link it up for a chance at 3 prizes!
