Make for the Border!

Hello, folks! Happy Wednesday! We have a super fun new challenge this week! We are Running for the Border on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog this week! That's right, we want to see you use border stamps, border dies, create a border.... however you interpret the challenge, as long as it is AWESOME, of course! The Design Team is featuring Memory Box products this week. I pulled out this SUPER cute bow and string border die to create my card. I kind of love it. Kind of lots, actually.

I don't normally do horizontal cards, so that was an extra bit of challenge for me, but I love how this turned out. I used Lawn Fawn plaid paper to create the look of a wrapped gift and then stamped the border strip with HB2U using Lawn Fawn Milo's ABC's

Now it's YOUR turn! Create something fabulous based on the Make for the Border theme and link it up over on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for your chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate to the Simon Says Stamp store! YES!!!! You totes wanna win that, yo. For reals.

Have a Happy!

These are Some Awesome Fish

No, seriously, you guys! These FISH! I love them! But I didn't make them. Nope. They are handmade paper fish that were created by a wonderful young lady who is preparing to begin third grade. She is a smart girl with a heart of gold. She is a thinker and a creator. She helps others and she gives entirely of her own accord. I'm telling you, this kid is AMAZING. And her Mom is pretty amazing, too. Kathy (her Mom) runs a blog called Bliss Habits. It is WELL worth your time. As a matter of fact, it is a gift each day. A moment just for you. I highly recommend it. You can also find her on her Bliss Habits Facebook page.

This young lady created these fish and is considering starting a small online business selling them to crafters and card makers like you and me! She sent me a few, absolutely free, to try out and show off!

Thank You So Much by Jennifer Ingle #JustJingle #BlissHabits #ThankYou #Cards

Yes. Those fish. She made them. By hand. And she sent me several in a variety of sizes including a tiny one that I absolutely LOVE!!!! For REALS, you guys! They are so well made, too! I was actually really super impressed by the craftsmanship. I couldn't have done it better myself and I work with paper a LOT, folks.

Thank You So Much by Jennifer Ingle #JustJingle #BlissHabits #ThankYou #Cards

I added the fish to a cute background paper and then stamped a simple thank you sentiment on a white panel across the card. A few enamel dots were the perfect accent along with these super cute fish!

Keep an eye on the Bliss Habits Facebook page, as I'm sure if these go up for sale it will be mentioned there! If not, I promise it WILL be mentioned HERE on my blog! Because I love them. And I will be first in line to buy some!

Have a Happy!

Warning: Christmas Card Overload is On The Way

It's true. You will be seeing a LOT of Christmas cards around here this month. The simple fact is, I need to make them FOR people and I need blog content and I have limited time to play, therefore, you get to see ALL OF THE CHRISTMAS CARDS! You are cool with that, right? Right. Good. 'Cause it's TOTALLY happening.

Happy Holidays

I've had this Simple Stories DIY Christmas paper pad hanging about for a bit now and I hadn't cracked it open yet, so I decided I needed to fix that problem! I pulled out some fun dies and these fun holly shaped Doodlebug Sprinkles to create this layered bit of insanity. HA! It's no really insane...it just has a lot of layers and actually required me to think about the final design before adhering stuff and, well, quite frankly, that's not something I often do. I just start tossing bits and bobs together until a finished card appears. HA! No, for reals, though.... that is basically my process, so pre-planning....that's kind of HUGE for me.

Happy Holidays

So, let's chat about these dies for a minute. I used three different dies and layered them to get this cool looking ornament. I started with a basic circle die in white. I then stuck the enamel shapes down and layered the Holly Wreath over the circle. The white on white adds dimension and texture without making it too busy. Finally, I cut the Happy Holidays from black cardstock and layered it over the wreath. I love how the colors on this card worked out. They just make me happy. And there is just SO much dimension!!! LOVE it! I cut the silver ornament topper from DCWV glitter paper and then added a bit of May Arts silver string to finish it off. This card actually came together very quickly and it so doesn't look that way! It was really a fun one to create!

That, my friends, is what I have for you today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Have a Happy!

Patterned Paper, Project Life, and A Golden Hello

I made another card for the Photo Pocket Scrapbooking Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. I couldn't help it. It had to happen. HA!

You see, earlier this week I cleaned things up in my studio a bit. I also did some organizing and such, but, until last night, I didn't have a chance to actually do some CREATING! I hit a few assignments, but then I ended up doing a couple of 'just for fun' cards because, well, IT'S FUN! Silly, Rabbit! Anyway, I recently purchased this My Mind's Eye Market Street paper pad and was having a hard time with the colors, but I decided to give it a shot and I LOVE how this card turned out!

Hello

I keep one of those cute little ceramic egg cartons from Anthropologie on my desk filled with sequins and one pretty little wood mounted stamp from Bossy Joscie because I love it too much to actually put it away somewhere. I pulled that stamping goodness out for this card, too! YAY!

Golden Hello (detail)

I stamped the sentiment on a journaling card from the Becky Higgins Midnight Project Life collection and added a few gold enamel dots because I like them. Lots. No, but for reals, you guys. I love those things.

You can find my complete supply list below.

Have a Happy!

Imagine the Possibilities

When these butterfly stamps from Crafter's Companion came out I KNEW I just had to have them!  I'm a sucker for a good butterfly stamp, in general, but these are HUGE and I totally love that! So, that being said, you may be seeing a few butterflies on my blog for a bit because I'm in love. In. Love, people. For reals.

Imagine the Possibilities

For this card I chose a simple black and white for the butterfly, itself. As soon as I bought these stamps I wanted to do something in black and white with them. They have so many wonderful details! I chose the butterfly from the 'The Butterfly Effect' set and the sentiment came from the 'True Colors' set. I stamped the sentiment with three different colors of distress inks to add both color and movement to the design.

Imagine the Possibilities (detail)

I added a few My Mind's Eye enamel dots and then a strip of Smash Tape along the bottom. And that's that!
I hope you have a truly delightful Friday, folks!

Have a Happy!

I pulled out some of the new dies from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps along with a pretty sentiment from Paper Smooches and a fun stencil to bring together my long card.  I colored the triangles with colored pencils to create my own background and I really like the way that turned out!

Love Ya (detail)

Faithful Friends

If you have a dog, it is likely you are aware of how much they add to your life.  They are part of the family.  Creating a card like this one is usually too hard for me when it  is actually needed, so I made this one so I could have one on hand if and when I do need to send this particular sentiment out to a friend.  I used the super wonderful Paws for a Cause stamp set from Paper Smooches (a portion of the proceeds are donated to A Home For Good Dog Rescue) and the Teresa Collins You Are My Happy 6x6 papers that I love so much!

So Sorry

I kept my design fairly simple, but sweet.  I stamped and fussy cut the puppy and popped him up with some thinner foam circles for just a bit of dimension.  The enamel hearts are from Lily Bee Design.  They matched the papers so perfectly!!!  I love it when that happens!

I am linking this one up to the Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes Challenge this week.  I like this one.  It's like a hug in card form.  *grin*

Have a Happy!!!
