SMILE! It's time for the Pinkfresh June Blog Hop!

Hello, and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio June Embellishment Kit Release blog hop. You should be arriving to my blog from Christin's blog. If you are just finding the hop here on my blog and want to see some inspiration from my the entire design team, please start at the Pinkfresh Studio blog! I think you will enjoy this hop! This is a great kit and the team has done some really fun things with it!

Look Back and Smile by Jennifer Ingle #justjingle #pinkfreshstudio #cards #diy #quotes

I absolutely love these acetate pocket scrapbooking cards. And no, I don't really scrapbook, but they work SO well on cards! I created this card sort of like a shaker with not shakey bits. This allows the clear acetate card to have some space between it and the background, leaving room for light to get in there and just plain ol' make it look cool.

CHECK OUT that awesome wood veneer?! Seriously. I am in love with it. And that washi tape has already become a go-to for me. It's fabulous! And lined. Yes, it is on a paper liner so the gold doesn't transfer to the back of the tape beneath it which is awesome. Basically, this kit rocks. For reals, though.

Thank you so much for hopping with us today, be sure to Like Pinkfresh Studio on Facebook and Instagram, and comment on the Pinkfresh blog {the june kit release post} for a chance to win the June kit! The winner will be announced 22 June 2015.

What's that? You want to actually SEE the whole kit? Oh, okay, well, here then. Why didn't you just say so?! *winnk* *wink*

Ummm... yup. It's AWESOME. For reals. Like, tons. That die? Yes, it cuts out all of those letters in that alphabet stamp. And makes a cool tool to, oh, I don't know, create the perfect sized window for the card above! Yup. I totally used it for that.

Your next stop on the hop is Jessy's blog

Head on over to the Pinkfresh Studio blog for the full hop list.

Have a Happy, folks!

Well, That Stinks!

I am a dog person. If you have been around for more than ten minutes, you likely know this, already. I am not a cat person. I mean, I don't have anything AGAINST, them, per se, but they pretty much try to kill me every time I am in their presence. The don't do it on purpose. It's just that I am one of those people to whom animals are naturally attracted. This includes both cats and dogs. The thing is, I am VERY allergic to cats. Not a little bit allergic. LOTS of allergic. And they insist on touching me. And I love animals, so I have a very hard time turning down a cute and fluffy furball. Alas, this, is why I am not a cat person. They try to kill me.

BUT...I can still STAMP them! Because I am NOT allergic to ink and paper. WHOA, that would SUCK! It's a good thing I'm not allergic to ink and paper. For reals, though.

CUTENESS! I love the Newton's Nook cats! They are just adorable and so much fun to color, too! I colored this little furball with Spectrum Noir pens and then fussy cut the patterned paper below him to be the 'floor'in order to limit the layers on the card. The little bunting thingy (yup, technical term) is also cut from patterned paper.

OH! Also, many of you have asked where I get my delicious coffee flavors. The answer is not likely going to make you happy unless you live on the North Shore in the greater Boston area. LOL! They come from a place called Heavenly Donuts. There are a few in the area, but only some are actually good because they have different owners. MINE, however, is amazeballs. They have the BEST customer service ever AND they have so many amazing coffee flavors (both iced and hot) that it blows your mind. For reals, though.

Have a Happy!

Supplies:
Stamps: Newton's Nook Naughty Newton clear stamp set
Patterned Paper: Project Life Southern Weddings 6x6 Paper Pad (P.S. This paper pad is absolutely GORGEOUS and not overly wedding-ish, so it is super versatile and you need it. For reals, though.)
Markers: Spectrum Noir

Patterned Paper, Project Life, and A Golden Hello

I made another card for the Photo Pocket Scrapbooking Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. I couldn't help it. It had to happen. HA!

You see, earlier this week I cleaned things up in my studio a bit. I also did some organizing and such, but, until last night, I didn't have a chance to actually do some CREATING! I hit a few assignments, but then I ended up doing a couple of 'just for fun' cards because, well, IT'S FUN! Silly, Rabbit! Anyway, I recently purchased this My Mind's Eye Market Street paper pad and was having a hard time with the colors, but I decided to give it a shot and I LOVE how this card turned out!

Hello

I keep one of those cute little ceramic egg cartons from Anthropologie on my desk filled with sequins and one pretty little wood mounted stamp from Bossy Joscie because I love it too much to actually put it away somewhere. I pulled that stamping goodness out for this card, too! YAY!

Golden Hello (detail)

I stamped the sentiment on a journaling card from the Becky Higgins Midnight Project Life collection and added a few gold enamel dots because I like them. Lots. No, but for reals, you guys. I love those things.

You can find my complete supply list below.

Because Wood Journaling Cards Exist

And that, my dear friends, makes me interminably pleased! I do so love them. I mean, think about it. They are journaling cards. And they are wood. And they are journaling cards.

FABULOUS!!!!

For reals, though. And the best part is that they can be so easily be used for both cards and scrapbooking! YAY!

Teri, over at Moxie Fab World, has put forth a challenge to create a paper crafted project using a journaling card! This challenge is inspired by the fabulous Photo Pocket Scrapbooking issue from Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine, in which I have two projects. One is a card (that totally uses a calender journaling card, dude!), and the other a tag that I kind of love with all of my heart. So, I wanted to create another card, but one that is totally different from the one I have in the magazine. That's when I reached for the wood! LOVE!

Bowtiful Hello

Actually, this card uses three journaling cards. And you can't even tell! WHAT? Yup. Totes, dude. I used one large 4x6 card from the My Mind's Eye Just Splendid journaling card kit for the background paper! LOVE IT! I then backed the wood card (also from the kit) with a small card with the same pattern. I stamped directly on the wood using pigment inks and then stamped and trimmed the bow to add it inside the heart. This was SUCH a fun card to create!

Hello Bow (detail)

And there you have my fun little card! I am linking up all of the supplies I used below, so be sure to check them out! This one uses a couple of fun stamp sets. Also... my tip for the day... ALWAYS use pigment ink when stamping on wood. It keeps it from bleeding out into the wood. WHY, you ask? Well, dye ink is formulated to seep into a porous surface such as cardstock. This gives you an awesome, even stamped image when working on cardstock. However, when you have a wider grain porous surface, such as wood or fabric, the dye ink will feather out and won't look crisp. Pigment ink, however, is formulated to sit on top of the porous surface. It needs a bit of tooth to dry properly, hence the porous surface, rather than a slick one, however, it doesn't imbed itself into the fibers as much and thusly, does not feather out or bleed.

Welcome to the science behind crafts with Jingle. HA! That's all for today, folks! On the 'morrow!

Have a Happy!
