Skipping Stones Design - A Thank You {Giveaway}

***This is my second post of the day! Be sure to check out my sneak peek below!***

Today, many of us who have been involved with Skipping Stones Design over the past few years as designers, sketch artists, and friends are showing off some cards using our favorite sets as a simple Thank You to Heather for all she has done.  Skipping Stones is taking a hiatus from releasing new sets, but many favorites will remain available in the store, so don't fret too much!  Heather has been designing GORGEOUS stamps and we love those SO much, but even more than that, we love Heather!  She is a friend and she is fabulous!  Heather, thank you for all you have done with SSD!  You rock!  Skipping Stones was one of my first Design Teams - you made me believe that I could do this!  And for that, I will be forever grateful!  Thank you!

Life

I love the gorgeous Breathtaking Butterflies set. And this sentiment certainly seemed apropos for the occasion.

Life (detail)

So, with that, I say thank you, Heather. You rock! Just sayin'.

Oh...and the amazing Katie is also offering THREE stamp sets to some lucky hoppers! The sets are Heartsong, Grapeful, and Sassy Snow. The cut off for comments will be Sunday, February 3 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Winners will be randomly selected from the designer’s blogs and will be announced on Monday, February 4 on the Skipping Stones blog. Please make sure that your contact information (email address) is connected to you blog profile or leave it in the comments section so I have a way to get a hold of you if you are one of the lucky winners. I have also heard there may also be another set for grabs on a designer’s blog.

AND... I happen to have an extra set at home, as well, so one person who leaves a comment here on my blog will win Cheers!

For the rest of the hop (this is the FINAL STOP!) Check out the links below!

Celebrate the Season in Silver and Gold

Silver and gold can be such pretty colors to play with when creating holiday cards!  When I saw this Shimmer and Shine Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World, I really wanted to play with these gorgeous colors!

I am playing along with Skipping Stones Design for the next couple of months. If you haven't heard the news, SSD is no longer doing challenges and will be stepping back for a bit. The store will be open, but many sets will not be re-stocked (the most popular ones will be) so now is the time to jump in for those if you want them!!! I used the beautiful Damask Darling set and the Christmas song set for this card.

Celebrate the Season

I stamped them both with Versamark ink and then heat embossed them in silver and gold powders from Stampendous! I LOVE this beautiful silver and gold look on the kraft background!

Well, that amazing flair came from the amazing Bossy Joscie shop! AND...I have some GREAT NEWS! Joscie is giving a $15 Gift Code to one lucky Just Jingle Reader! Check out some of the amazing flair she has in her shop!

I may or may not be slightly biased toward that first set I posted. Not sure why. Just sayin'. HAHAHA! And this isn't all, by ANY MEANS! She has SO MANY amazing styles to choose from and she is constantly adding fun new designs to the mix, too! It's FABULOUS!!!  I am more than just a little addicted.  Just sayin'.

Here is a card I created using the special Chrispea flair, made in memory of our friend, Chris Hertel whom we lost to breast cancer a little over a year ago. With each purchase of these special "Chris peas" Joscie is making a donation to support breast cancer victims!

Hope Happens

AND...not only does it help people out, but it is super adorable, to boot! Chris would have been TOTALLY on board with that one! YAY! (For those who don't know, Chris was also the amazing artist who created the elements in my blog banner and blog button. She and her husband are responsible for that gnome cuteness up there!)

Live the Life of Your Dreams

You know what. While not every part of my life is what I would call dream-worthy, I can say that I am very fortunate and blessed to be able to do something that I truly love. I work on a lot of design teams and, for the last six months, I've had the honor of Coordinating the Skipping Stones Design DT. I am a seriously lucky girl. This is the stuff dreams are made of! But, today, I close the door on one of those dreams to pursue others. Today is my final post as a Skipping Stones Design DT member and as the SSD Design Team Coordinator, as well. I am sad. BUT...this was my decision and I do feel it is the right one at this time. I LOVE Skipping Stones and I certainly won't be a stranger! Heather does amazing work and I wouldn't miss it for the world! So...that being said, I decided to go a bit sappy for this post, so please forgive me, as you may be drenched in it by the end of it all! HA!

See, here's the thing...many many moons ago sometime back in 2010, I was asked to be a guest designer for SSD. I had known Heather from back when we both lived in Colorado (funny...neither of us do now! LOL!) and I was already in love with her super fun stamps! When asked which stamps I wanted to use, I instantly fell in love with her quirky bra sets and, of course, Healing Wings. I say "of, course" because if you've followed my SSD posts you know that Healing Wings is my absolute FAVORITE SSD set of all time! I just love it! I loved it then and I love it now! Here is the first card I created for SSD using, of course, Healing Wings!

Live the Life of Your Dreams

Yup. That's an old one! LOL! I've evolved in style a great deal since I made this card. So, I decided it would only be right to pull out that very same favorite stamp set and apply it to the sketch challenge for this week. I used the exact same stamps - but this one is a little more the Jingle you know and love now! LOL!

Live the Life of Your Dreams

Yup. Same stamps. Same designer. A long couple of years in between the two! LOL! I love this card!!!!

Live the Life of Your Dreams (detail)

So there you have it. My first SSD card as a designer, and my last. I do hope you will play along with the sketch challenge this week! I'm also entering this card into the Movement Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I just love how the eye can easily move from left to right by starting with the grey ribbon tab on the left (May Arts, of course!), to the central focal point image, to the grey ribbon tab on the bottom right. Nice and easy flow!

I hope you have a super fabulous Tuesday and I hope this post wasn't too sappy for you. I just felt the need to share my feelings a bit. *sigh* Now...what great adventure might be coming next, do you think???? *insert HUGE grin here!***

8.21.2012

Because it's awesome to make people smile. That's all.

Someone made me smile yesterday. Someone made me smile HUGE, actually! Yup! Yesterday after work, I turned the key on our new little mailbox and pulled out the contents. Now, understand, there are OFTEN small packages and even big ones in my mail due to all the design work I do, but that all comes with strings and I pretty much always know it's coming. It's exciting, but not quite like the package that arrived yesterday. Nope. This one was different. I didn't win it. I didn't earn it. I didn't expect it. Actually...I had NO CLUE it was coming my way! It was a complete SURPRISE! Those are the BEST kind of packages EVER!!!

Awesome happy mail from Angi!!!!

The amazingly sweet Angi over at Cokie Pop Paper sent me these super fun goodies!!! She just sent them to be nice! To welcome me to my new studio with some fun new stuff to play with! I was SO surprised and SO SMILING!!! Just made my day. It's fun to make people smile. Just say'n. Come to think of it...I don't even know how she had the address! LOL! Thank you, Angi! You truly surprised me and made my day!

AND..on that note, when was the last time you sent a card 'just because?' I have one of those very cards to share with you today, actually!

Just a Note

We have a brand new sketch challenge over at Skipping Stones Design! I created this pretty Just A Note card using Heartsong 2. I love how pretty this set is! Just a bit of die cutting and some simple paper layering paired with a fabulous ribbon from May Arts.

I hope you have a fabulous day! Find a way to make someone smile today!

A Proper Push-Up in Pink!

***I have THREE new posts today! Whew! It's a busy one! Please click on my banner to reach the main blog page so you can see all three! YAY!***

Well, they say push-ups keep you in shape...I wouldn't know. HAHAHA!!! (Actually, that's not true...I can do push-ups and I've even been known to do them on purpose...just say'n.) BUT...why are we talking about push-ups on this fine Friday morning? Oh, yes...because it's my turn for Feature Friday over at Skipping Stones Design!

Push-Ups Keep You In Shape

Yup. That sentiment is TOTALLY in the new Bras Volume 3 stamp set. Just say'n. As are several other AWESOME freaking sentiments. They are hilarious!!!!

Pus-Ups Keep you in Shape (detail)

The paper is Pebbles, Inc. and the ribbon is May Arts fabulousness! I stamped the bra several times using a mask as I went to create the pattern. SO FUN!

Don't forget to check out my other posts for today! It's a busy one! :)

To The World's Greatest Hooker...

Now THAT, my friends, is what we call a 'hook' of a title! Yup! It's gonna reel folks right on in. Because, as you know, everyone is out their looking for the right fish in the sea! Oh, all right, already, I'll quit with the fishing puns and get to it. HA!

To the World's Greatest "Hooker"

Yes...I was referring to fishing. Not to, well, hooking. Is that even the right word for that? I don't even know. But, alas, back to the fishing. I am featuring the fabulously fun Holy Carp set from Skipping Stones Design today! This is seriously a really fun stamp set and it is GREAT for Father's Day, birthdays, and more!

I colored the image with markers, cut it out, and mounted it on the stamped waves with foam tape. Those AMAZING buoy brads are from the Eyelet Outlet, as are the flying mallards overhead! FUN!

World's Greatest Hooker (detail)

I told The Hubbums I was going to send this card to his mom since she loves to fish. HAHAHA! He said I should. Somehow I feel as though that wouldn't end well for me. Just say'n.

So...head on over to Skipping Stones Design and check out Holy Carp! It's pretty darned fun, if I do say so. And I do. 'Cause I just did. K. Thanks. Bye now.

Skipping Stones Design Feature Friday!!!!

Yes, it's my turn for Feature Friday and I'm featuring the Grunge set! If you came over from the Skipping Stones blog then you saw this little peek:

FF Detail shot

*sigh* I love playing with texture sometimes! And here is the card in all it's shining glory!

Happy Holidays

I also pulled out Sentiment Frames for my sentiment on this one. AND...some fabulous paper from Canvas Corp! The ribbon is May Arts and the twine is Stamp'n Up! Honestly, you guys... this was SUCH A fun card to make! I love the different textures in it and it makes me happy! YAY!!!!

You wanna know what else makes me happy? Fridays. Fridays make me REALLY happy. Although, I really wanted a white hot chocolate from Dunks and apparently they replaced that (without my permission, mind you) with the mint one and that's just gross!!!! Grrrrrr!!!! But, alas, 'tis still Friday, so I choose to be happy anyway. My Yogi tea will get me through! HA! Have a happy day!!!!

Oh...and don't forget to check out my other post for today...I made a Kokeshi Christmas card that is just cuteness!!!!
