Because: Soft Grey and Pink

Hello, friends! I have a couple of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps cards to share with you today. I was in a very clean and simple kind of mood when I created these, so I chose a color scheme that I knew would be strong enough to carry the design. A beautiful soft grey toned ink and a pretty pink embossing powder turned out to be the perfect fit!

Floral Mother's Day

For this pretty Mother's Day card (Have you made one for your Mom, yet?), I stamped the smaller flower from the Mon Ami set repeatedly to create a neat background design. I then stamped and embossed that gorgeous sentiment from Mums the Word over the background in pink so it would stand out nicely.

Pro Tip: Mums the Word is on sale through this weekend for a ridiculously low price. For reals. Ridiculous.

You're Wonderful

I created a second card using the same color scheme, only this time I used the larger flower stamp from Mon Ami as the background all by itself. I then used a tag die to pop up the area with the embossed sentiment from the all new Lovely Greetings stamp set. This set sold out when we introduced it and she quickly got more in stock, but they are flying, so be sure to grab it while you can! It is SUCH a great stamp set. This card is perfect for those other women in your life who's name might not be 'Mom', but they are still pretty important. For reals, though.

Be sure to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog for more inspiration!

Have a happy!

You Are the Best!

Yup.  YOU!  All of my readers.  You are the BEST!  And... we have a brand new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for you today! WHY?  Because we love to inspire you and to offer you a chance to win a $50 Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  Woot!

This week, our challenge is all about GIRLS!  We want to see you create a Mother's Day or Special Girl project and link it up!  Mother's Day is at the end of this month in the UK and, well, here in the US and Canada, I am quite sure Mom's wouldn't mind an extra card in the mail!  Or, perhaps you have a sister, grandmother, or close friend who could use a bit of happy!  Let's make it happen!

You are the Best

I decided to have some fun with some Simon Says Stamp exclusives for my card.  I also decided to work with florals.  And masking.  LOTS of masking.  LOL!  I used the new inks in Cotton Candy, Doll Pink, Mint, and Audrey Blue along with the super pretty Life is a Journey stamp set.  I masked the flowers as I stamped to create a fun layered look.  To stamp the border, which I actually did first, I laid down several of the flower stamps and then stamped the Cotton Candy strip.  I stamped the Doll pink strip, overlapping them, as the cotton candy was light enough to simply overstamp it.  I really like how it looks!

All participants are entered to win a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!  Just make sure your creations is NEW and you include a link back to our challenge!  The winner is chosen randomly!  YAY!

Why are you still here?  Go make a girly card for a special girl in your life, dude.  Do it.  Link it.  Make it happen.

Have a Happy!!!

Flowers, Lace, and a little Green Monster

Hello, Monday Friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day if you happen to be here in the US! We had a SUPER fun day hanging out with my parents and my sister! Mom decided she wanted North End pizza for Mother's Day, so we all met in Boston and did just that! The pizza was AMAZING, as one would expect in the North End. We then headed over to Modern Pastry, waited in the super long line and then left with some treats that were nothing less than sinfully delicious! As part of my gift to Mom, I decided it would be fun to all go to Build-a-Bear to make Wally the Green Monster stuffies (Red Sox team mascot)! It was SO.MUCH.FUN!!!!

I also made a pretty card for Mom, of course! I pulled out the beautiful May Flowers kit from Simon Says Stamp to create this card.

Happy Mother's Day

I love the softness of the taffy cardstock as the background and those GCD papers look so perfect with the Best Mom Ever stamp set! LOVE!

Happy Mother's Day (detail)

Lots of layers to add depth and dimension to this one. I love doing that! It just adds so much! And that lace is just gorgeous and makes me happy! YAY!

I hope you have a super fantabulous day!

Have a Happy!

2 Sketches. 2 Cards. 2 Moms. Lotsa Happy!

Most of you can disregard this first part, but...

Mom, if you are reading please stop here! I don't want you to see your Mother's Day card! LOL! You can read this post on Monday, don't worry! ;-)

Okay...now...for the rest of you...moving on.

I decided to use two sketches for the two Mother's Day cards that I made this year. One for my wonderful Mom and one for The Hubbums wonderful Mom!

The first sketch is Laura's Sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. I really like this sketch because it was a challenge for me. It made me go a different direction with my card and I really love the result.

Here is the sketch:

And here is the card for my Mom using the sketch:

A Mother's Love

I LOVE IT! I know...arrogant, but what can I tell you? Seriously? Isn't it awesome? No, really...I know, but I REALLY like this one! LOL! Here are some close up shots and such.

Prima on A Mother's Love

Glazed Sentiment

The supplies used:
Patterned Paper: Making Memories
Stamps: Hero Arts (bird cage) and Close To My Heart (sentiment)
Ink: Close To My Heart
Flower Accent: Prima
Glaze Pen: Sakura
Other: Ribbon and Die Cut

And here is the card that I made for The Hubbums Mom!

For this one I used the wonderful sketch from Card Positioning Systems! WAY fun blog, btw!

The Sketch:

I wanted something bright, cheery, and colorful and I think this fits the bill superbly! HA! I just said 'superbly!' That was fun! I should use that word more often. Sooo....yeah....here's the card and stuff.

Cheerful Tree Card

Okay, I'm going to say it again. LOVE IT! Really, I was kind of on a roll the day I made these suckers! I totally felt creative again and was actually REALLY happy with my work! That made me SUPERBLY PLEASED! (hee-hee - told you it was a good word!) I stamped the tree and then cut it out and popped it up with foam dots. I then used the tiny bird from the Hero Arts stamp that I used on the card above and cut that out and popped IT up from the tree! Fun stuff! The buttons just add the perfect playful touch!

Here are the closeups of this one:

Dimensional Tree Tag

Cheerful Tree Card

Supplies for this card:

Patterned Paper: Die Cuts With a View (Yes, I am anti stack, but the GREEN stack was WAY to awesome for me to not want it. At least I got it for free. I still cursed stacks as I pretty much managed to rip the whole 'deck' in half trying to get one sheet out. That's why I hate stacks. Love the paper, hate the binding.)
Tag: Emma's Paperie (I think?)
White Pen: Uniball Signo (if you don't have one stop reading blogs go to the store and buy one because you need it. That's all I'm say'n.)
Black pen: Zig Millennium by EK Success
Stamps: Pink Paislee (tree), Hero Arts (bird)
Buttons: I have no freaking clue. Sorry about that. I tried.

Soooo...what do you think? Do you love it? Because I totally do! HA! The good thing is that I know they will both appreciate them! I love it when people actually LIKE the fact that I take the time to make them a card! It makes me happy. Kinda like cupcakes only without the calories!

So, there you have it! Mother's Day Cards x 2! I hope all you Mom's out there have a fabulous Mother's Day with your families! I will be spending some time with my Mom and making fun crafts with my Kindergarten Sunday School class, so it should be a good day. I don't think the puppies bought me a Cuttlebug. Oh, well. What can I expect from kids with no thumbs? ;-)

Have an awesome weekend! See ya' on the Flip Side!
