A Wintry Hello with Chickaniddy Crafts

Today is my second day on the Chickaniddy Crafts blog as Guest Designer. Can I tell you how much I am LOVING this Jolly Good Collection SO MUCH! It was great for holiday cards, perfect for New Year cards, and now, I've used it for a pretty winter Hello card! And just wait... I have another great use for this collection coming later this month! Seriously...it does it all. And that, my friends, is the mark of an awesome collection, if you ask me!

Winter Hello

For this card I used three different patterned papers and cut them into strips to create a unique and pretty background. I added a small strip of washi tape and then the rest of the card was easy peasy! EASY PEASY, you guys! For reals, though.

I dusted the back of a snowflake sticker with my EK Success powder tool and used foam dots to attach it to the card. I used a mini brad from the Jolly Good collection in the center. I love the finish on these brads... not too shiny, but not dull, either. They have a great texture and the colors are gorgeous! I then grabbed a stamp from the Date Night collection to stamp the sentiment and added an enamel star to finish it off.

Be sure to head on over to the Chickaniddy Crafts Blog for TONS of inspiration, you guys! Their team is really amazing!

Have a Happy!

A Birthday Shaker

I have a quick post for you today with another fun card for the Winnie & Walter Birthday Challenges! Today I am playing along with the Shaker Card Challenge. I LOVE shakers! I wasn't going to miss this one!

Happy Birthday Shaker

I used the frame from the Picture Perfect set and then hand cut the window for my shaker. I grabbed the flowers from the The Big, The Bold, and Extras set. I cut those out and simply adhered them near the shaker, layering the 'happy' die (layered, for depth) over the entire window.

I filled the shaker with mostly flat silver sequins (LOTS of them) and added just a few colored sequins for some pop. I really like the mix a lot!

And that's all for today!

Seeing Stars

Hello, friends! I am back today with another card for the Winnie &Walter Birthday Bash Challenges. This time I was inspired by Laura's gorgeous inspiration collage!

When I saw those stars I knew INSTANTLY what tool I wanted to pull out! I recently got this cool Scotch Stars Patterned Adhesive Roller  in a box of goodies I was sent and it was just too cool, so I had to use it! The adhesive it puts down is actually in star shapes! I rolled that onto my background and then sprinkled embossing powder over it to create a cool heat embossed background.

I die cut the happy from The Big, The Bold, and the Happy Cutaways set several times and layered them for a nice thick accent over the embossed background and then stamped the words beneath it mimicking the type set in the inspiration photo. I kinda love it. After rounding the corners, I brushed a gold wink of stella just around the edges to make the panel pop just a bit.

This was a fun one for me. the inspiration photo did exactly what was intended. It inspired!

A Freestyle Thank You

Winnie & Walter is having a HUGE birthday bash with a bunch of awesome challenges! I have some cards I will be sharing this week as I play along with a few of the challenges. I am a HUGE fan of Winnie & Walter (no, I don't design for them... just absolutely love them), and I am excited to play along! You can find the full list of challenges for the birthday bash HERE.

Thanks

I created this card with Gayatri's CAS + Freestyle Collage challenge in mind. I love this style and like to play with it now and then. I used the 'Thanks' sentiment from The Big, The Bold and You set. I fussy cut it freehand to add more to the collage feel. I used papers from the Serendipity 6x6 paper pad, with which I am, naturally, in love. For reals, though. It's AWESOME!

Thanks (detail)

I added a bit of DMC silver thread with the layers of paper pieces for some texture and a bit of sparkle. If you don't have these metallic threads in your stash, I STRONGLY urge you to buy a set! Seriously... they are totally a staple in my life now. I love them. Lots. The puffy heart stickers are from a great pack I picked up at Target from K&Company. I LOVE THEM!

It's good to be back to a traditional schedule after the holidays! I am looking forward to a fun year ahead!

Have a Happy!

I'm SMITTEN!

Today is the third and final day of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps January release. Are you LOVING these new stamps and dies? I was so excited to share them with you and I am so excited that I can use them lots now that the world has seen their awesomeness! Today we have another great set with beautiful sentiments and fonts!

Head over Heels

This card is simple, I know. But it is also one of those cards that I finished and gasped just a little bit. My and The Hubbums' anniversary just so happened to be on New Year's Eve. As soon as I completed this card I knew it would be the PERFECT anniversary card for him. It's not too feminine, it says exactly the right thing, AND... it just so happens to be in our wedding colors, as well! YAY for perfect timing!

Head over Heels (detail)

I used set the stamps out on my card front and then used my stamp press to pick them up and stamp them so they would be aligned just so. I used red ink for just one word to give it pop and to emphasize that part a bit, too. This is a happy card. I kind of love it.

Be sure to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog to check out what the rest of the girls created with this amazing new set, Smitten! Also, be sure to comment over there for your chance to win this awesome set!

Have a Happy!

January - I had some fun with techniques with this one and just love how mixing and matching products worked so well. And the colors. I kind of love the colors.

February - Clean, simple, and me. And grey and mint. Forever.

March - Because foxes.

April - SO MANY STAMP sets! LOL! This was a challenge and I could NOT have been happier with how it turned out.

May - This one... I just love how the elements all came together.

June - Because puppy butts. And because friends always. At the time I didn't know that this particular card would make me teary just two months later.

July - Stacked die cuts at their best. This one was fun and turned out better than I had hoped. I always love it when that happens.

August - Mint and gold. Graphic. Chevon (NOT zigzag).

September - Ummm... because I decided to only choose ONE of my dork cards for this feature. And this one makes me smile.

October - Because I totally used paper circuitry to make it light up, that's why!
