How Would YOU Have Felt?

You guys. Seriously. The puns. I can't even help it. I just can't. even. HELP IT. So.... as you may have surmised by my ridiculous blog title, this week the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge is all about FELT! Yup! We want to see how YOU feel..wait.. nope. It doesn't work when you go and change tenses, now, does it? HA! Well, we want to see how you FELT on your projects! Incorporate felt in some way and make it AWESOME! You GUYS!!! Stuffed carrots!!!! I had way more fun with this card, than, perhaps, one should. But, YOU GUYS! STUFFED CARROTS! I used the adorable Mini Plush Carrot Dies from Simon Says Stamp along with the gorgeous wool felt from Simon. A bit of quick stitching and some plastic Target bags for stuffing (yup... I like to recycle... lol!), and just like magic, I have adorable carrots. I dry embossed the background for some texture and interest. The sentiment is pulled from the Lawn Fawn Rooting For You stamp set. I love these stamps!



I added the faces with a pen. Yup. That easy peasy! YAY!

Inspired by Adam Lippes Fall 2015

YOU GUYS! I made a card for a challenge. I haven't wanted and/nor had time to do a card for a challenge in a long time. It feels good. I like it better when I feel like me. Anyway, I checked out a few challenges last night as I was about to create and decided on this great inspiration from the Runway Inspired Challenge blog, always one of my favorites!

There were a couple of things in the photo that really caught my eye. First, her belt. Yup. She is wearing a belt. It is the same fabric as the dress, only SHINY! I like shiny. That is likely why it caught my eye. Second, I loved the smooth, seamless white behind her. It really allows her dress to pop! (Dude, I totally just typed poop instead of pop. I caught it, but it was TOO funny to not mention it. For reals, though. HA! I'm five.)



Since I was sort of stuck on the belt, I designed my card based on that. I created a 'belt' on my card! I simply trimmed some black cardstock and then stamped the rose from Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold, and The Extras with Versamark. I heat embossed some in pink and some in white (I did that in two steps so I wouldn't contaminate the colors), and then adhered it to my white background with foam tape. The sentiment comes from both the same stamp set and Winnie &Walter's The Big, The Bold, and You set and is stamped in black VersaFine ink for a nice, crisp finish.



I mounted the panel on a black card base for a nice finish. I have to say, this is why I love Runway Inspired challenges. For some reason the collections chosen REALLY inspire me and I always love the results when I play along!

Oh, My Stars!

Why, yes, I do happen to absolutely ADORE this sentiment. For reals, though. I do. Like... lots.



It is my turn to be up over on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today and I created this super fun card because, well, gold, white, and stars. Seriously. What more do you need in life? Yes, that's what I thought.

Gold.

White.

Stars.



I die cut the large star using the Star Fri-die and then stamped and embossed the pattern onto it using three stamps. Ummm... love. For reals, though. The star stamps and the sentiment are from the Twinkle set. Which you need. Nowish.

All the Best with Lil' Inker Designs

Lil' inker Designs recently sent me some fabulous goodies to share with you! I absolutely LOVE these gorgeous flowers from the Sketched Floral stamp set. The coordinating dies make it super easy to create fantastic designs with them, too! I combined them with a bold color scheme and the wonderfully useful On the Diagonal die for this card.



I created the background by stamping the flower numerous times in black ink. I began in the middle and worked my way out from there. I love how it turned out! So bold! The stitching on the On the Diagonal die allows it to stand out and carry the die cut purple flower really well! I love that!



Be sure to check out the Lil'inker Designs blog for lots of inspiration using their adorable stamps and dies! I have to admit, I love that they are a Massachusetts based company! We don't get many craft companies based around here, so that makes me smile!

Because They Don't All Work

Okay, so, here's the deal. I love this card. I seriously do. BUT, it is not what I set out for it to be. You see, I attempted to use a super fun technique that Jennifer McGuire taught in the Online Card Classes Clean and Simple 4 class, however, that technique refused to work for me. I plan to try it again, but I was bound and determined to finish this card, so I did, nonetheless. I did incorporate a lot of inking on this one to create my own colored backgrounds, and I sort of love it.



First of all, HOW CUTE IS SHE?! Seriously. I am in love with this adorable Shooting Star stamp set from Mama Elephant! It makes me smile! YAY! I stamped her first, and then colored with Spectrum Noir pens. I then stamped her on some Post-it tape and masked  her off to do the inking. I used Simon Says Stamp inks on Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth cardstock. I LOVE how the inking blended so beautifully and that this is essentially all one layer!



I attempted to use VersaMark over the inked background to have the ink create a cool shadow look for the stars. That's the part that didn't work. BUT, I decided to simply stamp and heat emboss the stars with white powder and I think it looks awesome, so I am happy with it. YAY!

Up and Away!

So, if you happened to see my big news yesterday, that is pretty exciting,  huh?  Yup. Totes.  I'm so wicked excited!  However, I have to admit, the card I'm sharing with you today was probably my absolute favorite of all those I sent in.  It took a bit of time, but it turned out even better than the picture I had in my head and I just LOVE it when that happens!

Squeeee!!!!  Isn't it fun?  I lightly sketched the balloon and then I used a total of seven different stamp sets to bring it all together.  I stamped the tiny pieces randomly until I was happy with the fill.  This was SO much fun to do!  I loved every minute of it!

I have included the supplies in the inlinkz below if you are curious.  Seriously, though, I love this card.  I love that I made it.  I love that I even tried it because this is not something I would normally consider to be a task I could accomplish successfully.  AND... the best part... this card was totally inspired by toothpaste.  For reals.  Well, not the paste, itself, but rather the tube/box it comes in.  AND...as it so happens, when you apologize to the lady who is trying to actually buy toothpaste at Target while you are busy taking pictures, she says you are fine and totes acts like it is COMPLETELY normal to be taking random pictures of toothpaste.   Lady at Target, I commend you - we are obviously of like mind.  Because it obviously IS totally normal.  Just sayin'.
