Because Beaches Make Me Happy

I am an East Coast girl. We live in a coastal town and let me tell you what the benefit of that is. The benefit of that, my friends, is that a nice walk on the beach or the simple happy making scent of ocean waters is never more than a few minutes away. And that, my dear friends, is what keeps me sane. Happy. Sane. I don't know... maybe both of those things. When I saw this amazing layered stamp set called Sea and Sky from Simon Says Stamp I was pretty sure it was designed for me. Or at the very least for the people like me. You see, my dear friends...it is FREAKING AWESOME!

So, I stamped the sky portion with cloudy sky ink because, well, I mean, it is a cloudy sky, so that just sort of made sense. I like to be practical sometimes. Sometimes. I stamped the water with a nice dark navy and then colored that with Spectrum Noir colored pencils. The sand is stamped with Stampin' Up Sahara Sand ink. Because it is sand. Again, with the practical. Who knows...maybe it will become a habit.

Finally, I added a whole bunch of sparkle with a Spectrum Noir clear glitter brush. You GUYS! If you don't have these get some. They add a TON of sparkle and shimmer. It's not subtle. I like my sparkle to...well, you know....SPARKLE!

I finished this card with a simply cut CZ Designs Wish I Could Hug You die cut sentiment because it was basically the perfect fit. I mean... the beach is like a hug. It makes you feel calm and cozy and happy. YAY beach!

CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and Imagine Crafts Blog Hop!

Hello, all! Today the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps design team and the Imagine Crafts design team are coming together for a super fun blog hop with LOTS of inspiration for you! I pulled together some fabulous stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and some of my favorite inks from Imagine Crafts to create this fun card! I stamped the Tin Roof background diagonally on the corners of my panel with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with Copics. I then stamped the sentiment from the MWAH! stamp set with Cardinal VersaColor pigment ink and clear embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Because I was able to stamp the sentiment in a bold color and emboss it for extra dimension, I was able to stamp it over the pattern without it getting lost.

I Can't WAIT!

This week for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge we are getting KRAFTY! Yes, that's right, we want to see you use KRAFT in your projects in some way. The Design Team is using Hero Arts goodies generously provided by Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp. If you have Hero Arts in your stash, we'd LOVE to see you rock their products, but if not, that's totally cool, it isn't required to play along.



I used this adorable Lil' Hoot Set from Hero Arts along with a new background stamp coming out soon! Eeek! Love sneak peeks! I embossed my background using both gold and white powders to create a unique pattern and colored that pair of cuties with Spectrum Noir pens. A couple of googly eyes were a perfect finish!

BEAR HUGS!

Yup.  All caps was TOTALLY necessary there.  For reals.  After all, what is a BEAR HUG, if it isn't HUGE?!!!!!  Right?  Right.  K.  That was a pretty fabulous way to start the day.  Just sayin'.

It's time for an ANYTHING GOES challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog!  Woot!  Woot!  I know those are ALWAYS your favorites!  This week the Design Team is using products from Authentique and/or Bottle Cap Inc.!  Fun stuff! I decided to use the Authentique Fresh 6x6 papers for my card.  I LOVE this collection!  Absolutely gorgeous beachy, summery, nautical-ish goodness.  Yup.  Totally just wrote that sentence.  HA!


Oh, and did I mention that I mixed that awesome paper with a big strong dose of ADORABLE?!!!!  For reals.  I love this stamp set.  LOVE IT!  It's the Circle Friends set from Simon Says Stamp and it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine just because it is SO. FREAKIN'. ADORBS.  For reals.  Not just a little bit adorbs.  Lotsa adorbs.  I mean, for reals... it even makes me use words like ADORBS for goodness sake!

I used IMAGINE CRAFTS®/of Tsukineko®  Momento Markers in various colors.  I love these markers for stamping!  They are seriously the BEST stamping markers I've ever used.  LOVE!
