With Sprinkles, Please!

Hello, friends! It's time for another new challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog! This week we want to see you MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND! You can use stamps, ink, dies, papers, or whatever your little heart desires to create a masterpiece of your own! The Design Team is using products from the ever fabulous My Favorite Things this week! You don't have to use MFT goodies to enter, but we would LOVE to see them if you have some!

I used the SUPER cute Donut Die-Namics sprinkles die to create my background. I simply ran it through my Grand Calibur multiple times in different spots to create a fun, sprinkled-fulled background! I then used the MFT Donut and Sprinkles stamp set for the sprinkles on the little die cut donut and the sentiment. This set is TOO MUCH FUN, you guys. For reals, though.

Naturally, some googly eyes and a bow tie were necessary. Naturally.

Now it's YOUR TURN! One lucky participant will win a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store! WHAT?! Yup. You know you want it, folks. You know you do.

Simply create something fabulous (if you have some MFT, feel free to use it!), and link it up to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog so we can come check it out!

Martha Stewart. Love Her. Hate her. It's such a Struggle, really.

Okay, so I'm the first to admit that I'm simply NOT a Martha fan. (Martha, sorry if you are reading this...since I know you frequent my blog and all...since you know I exist and all...ye..ah...so anyway....) She's always annoyed the crap out of me with all of her "you MUST use the VERY BEST of everything...aka: you MUST be a multi-millionaire to craft, cook, OR decorate anything ever. Then there was the whole jail thing, which certainly didn't help any. HOWEVER, that all being said...I am unwillingly EXTREMELY attracted to her products! Seriously, folks! It sort of creeps me out. I don't like it, but what's a girl to do?

I LOVE her craft punches! They are simply awesome! I really WANT one of her screw punches, but they are ridiculously expensive, so I've never taken that plunge. I really like her labels and her stickers, and her stinking magazines, even! I now subscribe to BOTH MS Living AND Body and Soul! Yikes! What am I DOING??? At least I got those subs for free so I'm not feeding the monster or anything...which brings me to my point for today, anyway!

The Martha Stewart Encyclopedia of Crafts

Yes. It is a pretty book. No. I did not purchase the book. BUT...I did pick it up at the library last night. I picked it up, added it to my stack of books that I was getting and told my husband that I was curious since there was no way I was going to buy the book EVER.

Well, crud.

I like it.

A lot.

I haven't, obviously, done any of the projects yet, as I just picked it up last night, but I did page through it and there are LOTS that I would really love to do! Now, granted...being a Martha publication some of them require supplies that you can only get at 'specialty' stores if you happen to have an arm, a leg, and perhaps an eye to spare...or maybe your first born...you know how that goes...but there are other projects in there that are totally normal and reasonable and look REALLY STINKING CUTE! Now I want to make them.

Honestly, this book looks awesome and is so worth owning. I will try to get a project or two from it done so I can share them with you, but in the meantime, run to your library and check it out!

I also picked up a book to help me learn to knit. Now all I need is yarn. And needles. And some other stuff. LOL! OH, and I got Death Swatch by Laura Childs because I simply CAN'T wait until it comes out in paperback and I MUST read it now! I love her books!!!

So, what are your opinions on Martha? Do you love her? Hater her? Emulate her? Boycott her? I'm curious. Am I alone in my struggle?

Pure Imagination, Pure Inspiration

Tomorrow is the last day to enter the Figments Studio Journal contest! Check it out!

If you are an artist, designer, or crafter of any kind you know how wonderful that feeling is when inspiration hits you like a ton of bricks! You know...when your creative mind just takes over and goes head on into full gear. You can't think about anything else and your hands just start itching to grab some supplies and MAKE something! I love it when that happens. For me, inspiration can come from so very many places...It really is all around us! Today, I just wanted to share with you a few things that I have found inspiring lately.

This song is amazing. This is the full version so it is very long, but so worth every moment you spend absorbing it.

Pure Imagination Trance Remix - Willy Wonka - Ford Feat Jori

Magazines! They can be totally inspiring sometimes! I recently began receiving Body and Soul due to a free sub offer that I got and I have just been thrilled with the covers! They just jump with color and totally make me happy.

This song is a long time favorite and ever inspiring to me. Actually, this is my favorite song of all time.

Delta Rain - The Blessing

These amazing blogs:

Melissa Loves
Cafe Cartolina
Maya*Made
Gutter Girlz - Particularly the playlist!

THIS! Not flowers, so much, but more the weather that we are slowly, but surely seeing creeping in to take over the cold freezingness that we have been bearing for altogether too long. I love 70. I really do.

And I am pretty inspired by these at the moment, too:

I won a pair from The Bright Side Project and I wore them for the first time yesterday and they are FANTASTIC SHOES!!! They are so cute and so high and do wonderful things for my legs. They made me smile. If you haven't checked out the Bright Side Project yet, you TOTALLY should! Talk about an amazing way to find wonderful designers and get to know them, all while answering intriguing and fun questions and reading what others have to say! It's another great source of inspiration!

While those are not the only things that inspire me, that is all for now. I hope something has spurred you on to create! Now...show off what inspires you! I would love to see your posts!

Post about what inspires you and then add a link directly to that post in Mr. Linky! Let's inspire!

Aren't they just the CUTEST little brooches you ever did see? I think so, even if I do say so myself! These will be heading off to my prize winner this week, but I am SO going to make more!!! (I hope you like them, Angie! LOL!)

Here is each one on it's own:
Flower Power
DSCN2853
Cupcake Cuteness
DSCN2854
Madame Heartsalot
DSCN2852

Seriously, these are a blast to make and I am totally addicted now! SO stinking much fun!

Now, I have a genuine question for you guys and I REALLY want to know what you think, so please....all of you who lurk, follow, stalk, read, etc. please consider taking a moment to leave a comment on this post in response to the following question.

I am seriously considering beginning to do reviews on my blog. I would like to do several different types. I would like to know if a.) this is something you would be interested in reading and b.) if so, what kinds of products would you like reviewed?

I will continue, of course, to post my crafty stuff and my occasional personal posts, but I would like to add reviews to the mix. What do you think? What should I know? What do you have to say about the matter? If you don't want reviews what WOULD you like to see more of around here? I would really like to make you all happy. You know I like smiles!....and cupcakes. But since I can't send you all a cupcake, I'd like to work on the smiles.

SPILL! Thanks! I really do appreciate it!

Have a great day!!!
