Wrap It Up!

Hello, folks! It is TIME for a BRAND NEW CHALLENGE on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog! This week we want to see you WRAP IT UP! We want to see you use ribbon, twine, and/or string on your projects this week. The Design Team is featuring May Arts products. You don't have to use them to play along, but we'd love to see them on your projects if you have some around!

I decided to do something other than a card this week, which is pretty odd for me, but you know how it goes... sometimes you just go WILD AND CRAZY folks! Wild. And Crazy.

These wood tags, THOUGH!!! For reals. I absolutely love these things. They are from the Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers collection and you can't buy any because I want them all. Wait... not, that's not what I'm supposed to say... well... fine. I'll share, then. You can find them here. Hmph.

I colored them with a chalkboard marker, but you could also use Chalkboard Paint to create the black chalkboard surface. I then stamped and embossed them with the Winnie & Walter Happy Christmas stamp set images. This stamp set was a perfect one for these fun tags! Finally, I stapled May Arts gold string and burlap string to the back of the wood slice with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to finish off my tags. I seriously want to make lots of these. LOTS, I tell you!

Get in Shape!

Here is the good news: I am not going to make you exercise. I AM, however, going to encourage you to take part in this week's Get in Shape Challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog! We want to see you create shaped cards! It can by ANY shape other than square or rectangle. The design team is playing with Lawn Fawn products this week, making our shaped cards EXTRA adorable! YAY!

Hamster Hello by Jennifer Ingle #SimonSaysStamp #LawnFawn #JustJingle #MFTStamps #cards

I chose to use one of my MFT dies to create an easel/chalkboard shaped card. It's not a rectangle, dude. It has legs. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. For reals, though, I love this Die-Namics Blueprint shape for cards. It's just too much fun!!! I pulled out the Lawn Fawn Handsome Hamster stamps to create a fun little 'chalk' scene on my board using Simon Says Stamp white pigment ink.

Hamster Hello by Jennifer Ingle #SimonSaysStamp #LawnFawn #JustJingle #MFTStamps #cards

I layered the Lawn Fawn hello die cut over the same cut cut from white foam to give it dimension and an extra layer of white. I used the triangles from the Blueprints set to cut the banner pieces from gingham paper. Gingham CUTENESS, that is.

And now it's your turn! Create a shaped card (not square or rectangle!) and link it up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog for your chance to win a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!

Another Fabulous Year of Being Awesome

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

It's time for another fun Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! This week it is BACK TO SCHOOL time! The Design team is using My Favorite Things products this week. If you have them, we would LOVE to see you rock them, but if you don't, that's cool, you don't have to use them to participate in the challenge.

Fabulous Year of Being Awesome

I used the Blueprints 17 die for my card and all I can say about that is that I am in love with it!!! I will be honest, that was a bit of a splurge for me, but it was SO worth it! The die set included the frame, the banner pieces, and the embossed rectangle that I cut from wood. There are a bunch more dies in the set, too! Definitely one of my new favorite things in my stash! The sentiment comes from a birthday set from Altenew, but I thought it worked brilliantly for Back to School!

Now it's your turn! Create something awesome with the Back to School theme in mind and link it up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!

Don't forget to check out the Kid's Challenge, too! It is open through the month of August so there is still time!

I am also linking my card up to the Trendy Triangles Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

You're So Cool

I am playing with my August Simon Says Stamp Card kit again! It is just too cute!!! I can't even help it. For reals. This time I took out a fun popsicle stamp, and, yes, for the record, this WILL become a creamsicle soon, as well...I'm getting there. BUT, for today, I went a little chalkboard with it! I stamped and embossed him in white and then stamped with Momento Luxe Wedding Dress, slightly off the original, to provide a dusty chalk shadow. I then fussy cut him before adding googly eyes! YAY for GOOGLY eyes!!!

You're So Cool

Here's a tip for you: When fussy cutting around a shadow stamped image like this one, give yourself a bit of room around the edges. The border will not only make it easier to cut out, but it will ground the image and shadow and make them appear as one, as they should.

For the dotted border, I used the dot pattern stamp in the Ice Cream Dreams stamp set. I stamped it twice to be sure it stretched all the way across. This takes a small amount of masking and lining up, but honestly, it was easier than I thought! Easy peasy, even! YAY for easy peasy! (I may have had coffee this morning. Maybe. It might have happened. Just sayin'. For reals, though.)

You're so Cool (detail)

I used a banner die cut I already had on hand to cut the banner and then stamped the sentiment onto it before adhering with foam tape. Super funness!!!! (Yup. Funness is a word now. I used it, therefore it exists.)

I just think this is a fun card. Simple, easy to create, and TOTALLY fun! You can find all of the supplies I used for it in the links below.
