A Bit of Gold and Shimmer

This gold trend? I love it. I really and truly do. And I'm not even sorry.

Mr. & Mrs. by Jennifer Ingle #simonsaysstamp @simonsaysck #cardkit #diy #wedding #gold

I created this card entirely from the Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit, therefore, it came together SUPER DUPER fast because all of the 'stuff' was coordinated for me and all I had to do was design something pretty. Well, THAT is easy enough! Particularly with these awesome papers and stickers and stamps! WHAT?! Yup. For reals, you guys.

The only things I pulled from my studio were the VersaMark and the gold embossing powder and the tiny heart sequin. Because tiny gold heart sequin. LOVE THAT!

I am linking this one up to the Virginia's View Challenge because... layers and dimension, baby!

I am super tired because I got up at 4:50 this morning to go to my Butts&Guts class. I do this every Thursday. I was silly enough to think I would get  used to it. That's not happening. But at least my thighs are beginning to show some sense of shape, so, I guess it's worth it. I have to admit, though... My Zumba and Rythm & Motion classes are much more fun. And don't involve crunches.

For reals, though.

Anyway, that being said, that's a wrap for today.

Have a Happy! (I'm going to have a COFFEE!)

True. Story.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Hello, friends! It's Wednesday and that means that we have a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for you! This week is ANYTHING GOES week! Yup. Because we love you like that. The Design Team is using Memory Box products this week (which are AWESOME), so if you have some, show them off! You don't have to use them to enter, though. I pulled out my September card kit along with this super cute Memory Box desk lamp die for my card this week!

You're Fantastic. True Story.

Yes, this did take a bit of time due to the endless, errr...I mean, super fun fussy cutting. Yes, it was worth it. I just want to pull up a cozy chair beneath this shelf and read a good book!!! YAY! I love how the October Afternoon Public Library patterned paper made such a fabulous wallpaper look! LOVE IT! I also super love the little clock from the To Thine Own Self stamp set in September kit! Just. Love.

You're So Cool

I am playing with my August Simon Says Stamp Card kit again! It is just too cute!!! I can't even help it. For reals. This time I took out a fun popsicle stamp, and, yes, for the record, this WILL become a creamsicle soon, as well...I'm getting there. BUT, for today, I went a little chalkboard with it! I stamped and embossed him in white and then stamped with Momento Luxe Wedding Dress, slightly off the original, to provide a dusty chalk shadow. I then fussy cut him before adding googly eyes! YAY for GOOGLY eyes!!!

You're So Cool

Here's a tip for you: When fussy cutting around a shadow stamped image like this one, give yourself a bit of room around the edges. The border will not only make it easier to cut out, but it will ground the image and shadow and make them appear as one, as they should.

For the dotted border, I used the dot pattern stamp in the Ice Cream Dreams stamp set. I stamped it twice to be sure it stretched all the way across. This takes a small amount of masking and lining up, but honestly, it was easier than I thought! Easy peasy, even! YAY for easy peasy! (I may have had coffee this morning. Maybe. It might have happened. Just sayin'. For reals, though.)

I used a banner die cut I already had on hand to cut the banner and then stamped the sentiment onto it before adhering with foam tape. Super funness!!!! (Yup. Funness is a word now. I used it, therefore it exists.)

I just think this is a fun card. Simple, easy to create, and TOTALLY fun! You can find all of the supplies I used for it in the links below.

Have a Happy!

I Love You More Than Ice Cream. That's a Lot.

This may be the best sentiment of all time. It certainly is the most well suited sentiment for ME, that's for sure! For Reals, you guys. I would eat ice cream for every meal if I didn't feel like that might not be so good for me. It's my favorite thing in the world. I can pass on cheesecake, chocolate, etc.... but when ice cream is involved, well.... GIMME!

HA!

SO.... that being said, when my Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit arrived I nearly FLIPPED! I am SO in love with this kit! The stamps are BRILLIANT! The papers are super fun and, I confess, these are the very first distress markers to ever grace my studio and I am officially in LOVE with them!!!

More than Ice Cream

The kit also came with a sheet of Tim Holtz watercolor paper. I usually use Strathmore, so I enjoyed trying this paper out. It has a smooth side that offers a different look from a traditional, textured watercolor piece. I stamped my ice cream cone, masking and restamping to create the STACK o' ice cream and then added a bit of color with the distress markers. I then used a waterbrush to move the color and create a watercolor look. I LOVE it! The tab and heart are die cuts that came in the kit. Each kit comes with different ones, so yours will be a surprise!

For the cherry, I added a touch of Wink of Stella for a bit of shimmer and then coated it with Glossy Accents. Cherries simply MUST be shiny. I'm quite sure of it.

You can purchase the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit individually OR you can subscribe to have it arrive monthly. It's super flexible and I absolutely LOVE my kits! And the price can't be beat! Be sure to check them out!

You can find links to all of the products I used below.

Have a Happy!
