Yup. That's the title of this page. "I."

Why? Because it is all about who I was yesterday. I would say right now, but let's be honest...these things can change with a drop of a hat! So, I created this layout with inspiration from a couple of challenges. Stacey over at AMR asked us to create a page that was all about who we are. A page that someone could look at and feel like they know you from it. That is what this page is. I do feel that I may need to start making a page of this kind at least once or twice a year, though. Things just change so much sometimes!

When considering this project, I wanted to include journaling, but I'm not the long, mushy story kind of girl, so I had to find a method that was, well, ME! Guess what I stumbled upon over at The Story Matters? The perfect poem to use for my journaling. I simply scattered the poem all over the page to represent the way I usually think. All over the place.

Now, here is the thing. I'm not sure if this layout is truly finished or not. I love the stamping...each image says something about who I am right now and I love that. I love the journaling and I love the photo mat. I guess I'm just really wondering if it needs more. What do you think? Honestly...I'm not looking for "Oh...it looks great just the way it is!" (Unless that is truly the ONLY thing you can think to say! LOL!) I really want to know what you think on this one. Many of you know me fairly well even though we've never actually met, so you have an idea of who I am. Does it need more? Does it not? What do you think?

Now...onto another really cool thing I stumbled upon yesterday....Donna Downey posted this over on her blog and I found it to be dead on! She talked about truly believing in your creative potential. Understanding and embracing your own individual inspiration! You are an artist! Live it!

"believe in your creative potential,
enjoy the creative process,
try something new,
explore new possibilities,
but most of all believe."

You will see that I have added the badge to my blog, as I intend to embrace this with all of my creative being! I would love to see others join in! If you would like the badge created by Donna on your blog cut and paste the code that she has on her blog. And thanks for joining me on this journey to discover and embrace my creative potential!

  1. I think you did the layout very well. I think you captured yourself and showed us who you are and what you are about very well. It's really cute. I do not think it needs anymore. I think you got it just right.

  2. I really love this page. Honestly, I feel like I do get a good picture of you from really looking at it. The colors you chose are unexpected and AWESOME. You definitely have the Rule of 3's down in that aspect. The only teeny, tiny suggestion I have it to consider making the photo sepia. With that bright frame, I think it would be incredible.

  3. Cute layout Jennifer! I love all the writing. I sure do miss being over at AMR, but gotta take a break for a while.

  4. Great LO, Jennifer. I think it really says this page is about you. Love that you added the poem to your LO like that. Too cute!

  5. I like the stamping on this too...but I know what you mean about not being sure if it is complete. I would not add anything else to it because I think the reason that it doesn't feel complete is because there is so much to look at. The only thing that I would suggest is repeating your stamping on another sheet of cardstock and overlap the current image with the new image and pop dots. Choose a neutral, I'm thinking white, and leave enough of a border around the new stamp that your eye gets a teeny place to rest.

However, leaving the LO as is speaks to how you currently are feeling right now and maybe it doesn't feel finished because it's missing another piece of you on that LO?

    Deep, huh? :-)

    Good Luck and nice job!

  6. I LOVE it! I especially like all of the stamped images and handwritten doodling. It is like wherever you look there is something new to discover and read!Don't change a thing!

  7. Just an FYI: I absolutely loved this page when I saw it at AMR. That monkey is adorable and I loved loved your doodling!

  8. Hi! I'm new to your blog - found you through Melody's sofa. Congrats on the big win! I love your layout and think it is a fabulous idea to do one like that. I may just steal it! :) I love the idea of adding more dimension by popping some of your tamped images off the page. I think this is going to be one of those layouts that everyone who knows you will cherish in the future - whether you think it is "finished" or not! Awesome job! :

Thank you for visiting! I love to hear your thoughts!
