Art Board

No, I'm not putting together a group of people to do whatever it is that 'boards' do in relation to art.  Nope.  That's not it at all!  Instead, I actually decided to display my own art in my studio in a new way!  I added a few pieces that have been given to me by others, too!  This board has been on my wall for years serving various purposes, but it has been pretty much blank for a long time, as I had planned on painting it a new color.  Well, as you know, sometimes plans just don't ever turn into actual happenings so I decided it was time to admit it wasn't going to happen and go ahead and put some stuff up there to display.  I love it!  It makes me happy!



I have red and teal paint I could use for the board and I may paint it in the future (like when we move, maybe?).  What do you think?  Do you think I should keep the grey or consider the red (my favorite color) or the teal (another fave, but also just bright and cheery).  I have always stuck to neutrals in my studio for fear of the color distracting my art.  I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Fabric, Clay, Pasta Sauce, and Carborator Nuts

What?  You don't think those things go together?  HA!  Shows what you know!  Or not... 'cause they don't really, other than the simple fact that they are all things I plan to talk about today.  You've been warned.  BUT, it's not just because I'm random like that (even though I am), it's 'cause they are all things that are prominent in my life at the moment.

Let's begin elsewhere, thought, shall we?


My relationship with these two is suffering severely.  You see, I just haven't been spending ANY time with them and they are not pleased with that.  Nor am I.  The whole thing is quite disastrous, so I think we need to have a  nice fancy schmancy date this weekend.  I don't know if I will hang out with both of them or just one of them, but we all need some quality time together SOON! 

THIS is ....
....out of focus.  But that's what happens when you take photos just at dawn in a somewhat hidden spot.  HOWEVER, other than the out of focus part, it is also calling my name.  Actually, that combined with a rusty spring I found just may be forming an amazing idea in my mind at the moment.  Good things shall come.  Good things, my friends.  Now, where did I put all that time I had lying around....??????


THESE are a sad sad story!  Only ONE of them has even seen ink!  And I am totally and completely in LOVE with them, so they need more action and they need it QUICK!  They are the most recent Skipping Stones Design release.  You need them.  Just say'n.


THIS is making me incredibly HAPPY, incredibly INSPIRED, and incredibly ANTSY to get moving on some amazing projects!!!  I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY love this publication!  And after the frantic multi-store hop trying to get the new issue the other day The Hubbums *might* have said the word subscribe, so that may be coming SOON!!!!  YAY ME!!!!!!!  Now, how do I get them to publish more issues a year????


HERE you see an idea brewing.  It is really busting out and trying to turn into a completed project, but you know that time that I mentioned losing earlier?  Yeah, I still haven't found it.  Just say'n.  I don't think I'm loving that red fiber, so that will probably go and don't mind the body of the butterfly, as that is so toast - those are TOTALLY fairy wings, NOT butterfly wings and so I'm working with them....we shall see.  We shall, indeed, see.


Ummmm....GOODNESS!!!!  My scavenging has been QUITE successful lately and I can't wait to incorporate these treasures into fabulous art!  That spring sparked an idea pretty quickly, so I'm looking forward to that project!  Just need to pull out my old bottle of walnut ink crystals.  FUN STUFF!  I haven't used those in a long time!


AND...I simply HAD to show you these two GIGANDO bottles of pasta sauce!  The Hubbums went to BJ's to go grocery shopping (yup...that's what it is really called for those of you who don't have one in your area...and yup.....men everywhere still giggle EVERY time they talk about the place....just say'n.) and he called me to clarify which Laughing Cow cheese I wanted because he is awesome like that and likes me to be happy (and skinny HA!) and he happened to mention that he was pretty sure we had pasta at home still and I happened to mention that I was pretty sure we did but I thought we were out of sauces, so he decided to pick up some sauce while he was there.  Mind you, there are TWO of us.  Two.  Just Two.  Those are HUGE jars of sauce!  LOL!  I hope those containers are resealable!  HA!

It's a HAPPY DAY!!!! I'm TWO!

On 8 August 2008 a bubbly, slightly over-energetic girl sat down and started a blog.  She called that blog Just Jingle.  And....

....wait for it.....

....PEOPLE READ IT!  Yes, folks, that was the most amazing thing of all!  People decided to read this little blog that Jingle sat down to write.  And now, two years later, LOTS of AWESOME people read it and make Jingle happy every SINGLE day!  And THAT, my friends, is what today is TRULY about!

It is a Happy Day, indeed!  I made you this card!  And, I made a little video, but it was kinda boring, so I decided not to use it.  Just say'n.

It's another fabulous WOYWW (What's On Your Workspace Wednesday) and today I don't have any fun half finished projects, I don't have a fabulous completed masterpiece....nope.  I've got none of that.

I'll be honest, it was my goal to actually show you a nice CLEAN, CLEAR workspace today.  I REALLY wanted to.  But, alas, time did not allow, thus, my desk is still a disaster and I haven't had time to really create anything, either, which is starting to make me really sad.  The only good thing is that I've been making time to workout, so at least I don't feel fat AND uncreative.

Just say'n.

BUT, that does not mean that my workspace is empty.  Nope.  You know I always have SOMETHING going on, so, here ya go!




Yup.  A STACK O' Books!  These suckers desperately need to find a place listed on EBAY, as I plan to sell them, but I've been so busy that I keep missing the optimal posting times and then it gets put off again.  *sigh*  Well, I will get them up eventually, I guess.  In the meantime, if you are interested in any of them, let me know!

There are Acts of God...There are Acts of Nature...and then There are...

....Acts of Glue Dots.

No. For REALS, you guys! This card is an Act of Glue Dots! HA! While ribbon will naturally fall in a quite lovely form, it rarely remains that way. However, I REALLY wanted it to remain that way, so with a little help from my friends (...p.s. that's where the Glue Dots come in...Just say'n. In case you hadn't got there yet...), the ribbon stayed EXACTLY where I wanted it! In all it's draping, slightly ruffled, goodness!

Yay!

Here is the sketch that we started with this week for SSD #36 (AKA: Skipping Stones Design Goodness #36...join in over at the Skipping Stones blog!!! It's fun!!!! AND...you can win stuff!)

Right.

But...I am not going to lie to you...it was one SERIOUSLY tricky sketch for me! I sort of went my own way with it, but my design is certainly inspired by the sketch and I'm sure you will see that!



Seeeeeee!!!!! I totally wasn't kidding about that whole ribbon thing, huh?! Yup! I tell it like it is, here, folks! HA! So, yes, there may be a *few* Glue Dots involved in keeping that there, but it looks SOOOOO cute that way! Fun stuff!

Anyway, I used the BRAND NEW Timeless Textures background stamps set for this. Seriously. I am so in freaking love with these background stamps! I am totally going to be using them a lot, so I hope you like them!!!! HA!



The key is a fun old one that I had in my stash. LOVE!!!

No...really...take a moment to breath that goodness in. My own PERSONALLY created patterned paper with fabulous music notes on it due to the awesomeness of the stamp PLUS amazing old key goodness. Oh...and lace and velvet ric rac happies, too.

*sigh*

I'll give you a moment. You know, to savor and such.

I'm just say'n.

'Cause, folks, it just doesn't get any better than that! These are the things that bring happiness and joy to my life.

Laffy Taffy ROCKS!

No, really it does. For reals. It's become my most recent candy problem. You see, normally I cycle through my usual gummy bears, spice drops, jelly beans, and Swedish fish with the occasional seasonal gummy in there here and there (I LOVE those horrible gummy hearts around Valentine's DAY!!!!! But, alas, I digress...). However, due to some $1 off when you buy 2 coupons I may have purchased a few bars of Laffy Taffy as of late.
