Happy Thanksgiving!

We are Giving THANKS with the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Team this week! That's right, the brand new challenge is to create a Thank you or a Thanksgiving themed project. The design team is using Simon Says Stamp exclusives this week. You don't have to use them to enter, but we would LOVE to see how you rock them if you've got them!



I have been absolutely LOVING these gorgeous new dies from Spellbinders and thought these tassels would be a fun thing to play with for a Thanksgiving card. I decided to cut several of them and turn them into a sort of floral medallion thingy. I kind of love that floral medallion thingy. For reals, though. It's kinda sorta awesome. I stamped the sentiment using the Simon Says Stamp Essential Greetings set, overlapping the words to create a unique look. This is super easy to do and offers a fun new way to play with your sentiment stamps.

Awesome New Embossing Folders from Sheena Douglas

Today I have a gorgeous card to share with you and it is all due to one of the amazing new embossing folders designed by Sheena Douglas for Crafter's Companion.  I LOVE this folder!  It is so detailed and so pretty!  I decided to use it as the primary focal point for my card.



Isn't that just awesome?  I love it.  The folder just stands alone so beautifully!  AND... what you can't see in this photo is that I sprayed the entire card before adding the simple sentiment from the Memories are Made Sentimentals set with iridescent glitter spray!  So pretty!  Just a bit of shimmer and sparkle!  I do so love shimmer and sparkle!

Simon Says: WHITE OUT!

First of all, I want to thank you all so much for the amazing birthday wishes! You guys rock! Thank you so much! It was a great day with lots of smiles!

Now...let's dive into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog Challenge! We have an inspiration photo for you today! I had to laugh, as I created this card over the weekend, and, you may or may not have heard, but Massachusetts got a *little* bit of snow over the weekend. By a little bit I mean we got over two feet with insane drifting and the entire state came to a hault for two days. Just a little. HA! SO...this week's challenge was a rather humorous inspiration, as it looked a LOT like what I was seeing outside!


Ummm... yup. A WHOLE lot o' white! LOL! And I love it! And...miracle of all miracles, I did not use a SINGLE stamp on this card! CRAZINESS!!!! I KNOW!!!! Actually, the whole team is showing off fun Cuttlebug products this week and I DID use one of those! Love that dotted embossing folder! Woot! Woot!


*sigh* I am SO loving the white on white. It makes me happy! I die cut a couple of clouds and added them with foam tape and then added the Studio Calico wood veneer heart along with the die cut 'you' for the sentiment. This is probably my favorite Valentine's Day card of this season. I just love it. Soft, simple, and happy. YAY! (I {heart} happy. Just sayin'.)

The Contenders Blog Hop - You Amaze Me!

What is a Contenders Blog Hop, you ask? Well, you see, there is a large group of people who regularly (or not regularly... LOL!) submit work to Paper Crafts Magazine. They, obviously, can only accept so many submissions, but that doesn't mean that the others aren't fabulous! SO.... we are hopping today with the cards that didn't make the cut for the magazine, but we still kinda love. Just sayin'.


I submitted this card for one of the two sketch calls for the most recent issue, although, obviously I had sunshine on my brain from another category, as well! LOL! To create the base, I first scored the four quadrants and then scored the lines in each quadrant going in opposing directions. I love the texture and interest it adds, while remaining nice and white! I punched a circle and cut it half for the sun and added a few strands of twine for the sunrays.


I used the "you" die from Simon Says Stamp along with the coordinating stamp set for the sentiment. I just love the happy white, the bright yellow, and the strong contrast of the black! It makes me happy.

Sooo... there you have it! This one didn't make it into the magazine, but I'm so happy I got to share it with all of you today! If you submitted, you should totally join the hop!
