How About a Little Bit of Ink?

It is Wednesday and that means it is time for a new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!  This week, the design team is using some super fun goodies from Tim Holtz/Ranger!  As for the challenge, well, it's ANYTHING GOES time!  Make something fabulous over the holiday weekend and link it up!

Vintage Santa Christmas

I challenged myself to go a bit outside of my usual box for this one.  Since we were encouraged to use Tim Holtz products, I checked out my stash and pulled out a GORGEOUS stamp I've had around for a bit and then decided that inking was simply in order.  I mean, who can be inspired by Tim Holtz and NOT lay on the ink?!  LOL!  I 'colored' my image with distress inks!  SO FUN!  Of course, his beard is shimmering with Wink of Stella clear because I pretty much am having an affair with that thing.  Just sayin'.  I accented his hat with a bit of enamel accents, too!  SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Merry Christmas Santa

I also added some of that fabulous film strip ribbon from Tim Holtz.  I LOVE that stuff!  I don't use it often, but it is just SO much fun!!!  Plus... it totally comes in an little adorable tin and I love that.  Good stuff, folks.  Good stuff, I tell ya!  You can find links to ALL of the super fun goodies I used on this card below.

And, as per usual, the absolutely fabulously generous Heidi is offering one lucky participant (chosen at random) a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  Happy Happy to YOU!!!!!

Have A Happy!!!

Beautiful Hymns

Good Morning! Today is my first post as a guest designing with the amazing The Craft's Meow Design Team and we are introducing to a gorgeous new stamp set called Beautiful Hymns!

I LOVE old hymns! They just have so much more to them, if you ask me. And they remind me of when I was little and some very special people in my life from that time. I had to go with a vintage style card for this one...it just suited the stamps for me. The bit of May Arts lace was perfect, too!

Strength for Today

Okay...lift your chin up. I KNOW! I used floral paper! That pretty much NEVER happens! HA! But, alas, I love it! It was just a great fit for this beautiful song lyric! I also love the wood always from Simon Says Stamp that goes beautifully with the stamped lyric below!

Bright Hope for Today (detail)

You will NOT want to miss what the design team has created with this gorgeous set! Head on over to The Craft's Meow blog to check them out AND to comment to win this beautiful stamp set! Your comment must be in by 9pm PST TODAY, but the good news is... they are giving away a set EACH DAY with the release, so stop by tomorrow to see the next one and for another chance to win over on The Craft's Meow Blog! It's Pizza Time!

***This is my second post of the day! Be sure to check out my fun Milk & Cookies card below!***

I have to be honest. I think it's a little bit hilarious that a company CALLED Gourmet Rubber Stamps has come out with this adorable Pizza set...I mean, it's a gourmet pizza stamp set for goodness sake! HAHAHA! For reals. I find it QUITE amusing. Just sayin'. But, for reals, though. That's funny stuff, there folks.

ANYway....it's called Spice Up Your Day, which, is also pretty much just awesome. AND....it's totally got me going shabby vintage and all that. Like WHOAH! (Joey Lawrence, anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?) K. So that's probably enough 80's references for a card that has precisely NOTHING to do with the 80's. I mean, seriously...at this rate this post is bound to end with a certain Simple Minds song blaring! HA!

Pizza Party

I used several fun stamps for my pizza party invite! I used the Wood Fired Pizza stamp, the Rustic Pizza stamp, the Pizza Party sentiment, and the so pretty Basil stamp. Did you know that Gourmet Rubber Stamps sells many of the stamps from the kits as singles? Yup! Totally. You can find all of the singles here! (And no...I don't mean the hot sexy singles...we are talking stamps here people. STAMPS! Just sayin'.)

Pizza Party (detail)

I added some vintage buttons and May Arts goodness to finish off the vintage look. It's fun playing with ink and my distress tools now and then! YAY!

So...that's all for today... but do me a favour, huh? Don't you...

...forget about me.

HAHAHAHA!!! You HAD to know that was coming. You had to. For reals, you guys. It was pretty wicked obvious. Just say'n.

Thyme, Oregano, rosemary, Bay Leaf, Basil

Yup. I know. Not my usual style. BUT...this set just SCREAMED vintage to me, so I had to go shabby! Don't worry...I'll have some CAS cards using this fun set for you later in the month, but I just couldn't resist breaking my norm. Sometimes it's just gotta be done! Just say'n.

Thyme, Rosemary, Basil

Supplies: Stamps are all from the Spice Up Your Day set from Gourmet Rubber Stamps, Patterned Paper: Basic Grey, Ink: Momento, Tsukineko & Distress Inks by Ranger, Ribbon: Martha Stewart Crafts, Suede Leaves & Burlap String: May Arts, Cardboard Heart: Jillibean Soup, Pearls: Queen and Company, Buttons: Vintage, Cream Cardstock: Stampin' Up!

Thousand Words Thursday - Tell me the story....

Cheaper Than Therapy

Once again, here we are on Thousand Words Thursday.
If you have visited my blog on Thousand Words Thursday before, you know the drill! If not, here's the deal. I truly believe that photos can speak. I believe that they can inspire. I believe that they tell a story. Some with a few words, some with a thousand words, some as thick as novels. As adults, we don't exercise our creative thinking abilities as often as we should, so, on Thursdays, I like to carry us all to a place that gets those fingers just itching to write a story. That brings us to Thousand Words Thursday.

I encourage you to embrace it! Write something! Anything! Let the photo carry you away!
I DARE YOU!

For More Thousand Words Thursday posts check out Cheaper Than Therapy!
Also check out these great Vintage Thingies Thursday posts at Colorado Lady!

The photos I share are all mine. Please don't steal them. That would make me cry. And pretty mad, too, actually.
