Let's begin with the fun little card I created for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger this week. Can I even TELL you how much I love this trigger?! If I have time, you may see another card based on this photo because, quite frankly, it's fabulous.
*sigh* Sweet, happy, Neapolitan goodness. *love!*
I reached into my scrap bin for some strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate papers to create this card, so it's a mish-mash of manufacturers and I can't tell you ENOUGH how much I love how well they work together. For reals.
The strawberry layer is Cosmo Cricket cuteness, the vanilla layer is classic Basic Grey, and the chocolate layer is scrumptious Studio Calico. I stamped the toy car from 100 Proof Press in Sorbet ink (CTMH) on the vanilla layer and then added some yummy May Arts crinkle ribbon for a bit of texture.
AND...I also wanted to share this necklace I created with you! Now, understand, I'm not usually a jewelry making kind of girl. I don't even have a lot of the basic supplies you need (like crimp beads and jump rings, and, well, you know...the basics of jewelry making and such), however, every once in awhile I get a bug and I just have to jump in! I created this one for the May Arts Beach Theme challenge. Since I became a Ribbonista, I'm no longer eligible for the prize, but I still get to show you the necklace in all it's collage pendant glory!
I collaged many types of May Arts ribbon in small bits to create this piece. The glass bottle is filled with sand and then covered with liquid glass to create a water-like look. I intentionally added bubbles to enhance the effect. (P.S. Yes, that did take three weeks to dry. For reals. A FULL three weeks. No joke. Thanks for asking. Just say'n.)
I rolled a small piece of vintage paper and tied it with ribbon and tucked that in along with a Tim Holtz safety pin. I just love the texture and beach feel of this piece! It takes me straight to my favorite beach! Oh...and yes, the sand in the bottle is ACTUAL beach sand from Wells Beach, ME. I would use no other. Just say'n.
Have a super duper Happy Thursday! I'm so happy you are here!
