School is Cool with the Pixies!

Well, today was supposed to be The Hubbums' first day with students, but instead, it is their first snow day. HA! No...we didn't get snow in August, although, it wouldn't surprise me. Irene knocked out power all over the state and the high school in his district is still without power (as are my parents, actually), so they had to postpone the first day. They already had tomorrow off and Monday is Labor Day, so they will *hopefully* be starting school on Tuesday. Yikes! It's all a bit crazy!

BUT...the Pixie Dust Studio is BACK TO SCHOOL with this week's School is Cool Challenge! The Pixies have come up with some great inspiration for you this week! I chose to use the absolutely adorable Magnum Opus image for my fun back to school card!

Have a GREAT Year

I colored the image with Tombow markers and used a combination of Crate Paper and Cosmo Cricket patterned papers. A bit of May Arts burlap string and twill were perfect accents!

Have a Great Year (Back to School Card)

So, head on over to the Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenge blog and check it out! Make a card and link it up for a chance to win a free Pixie Dust Image!!!

Also, if you haven't checked out my fun Altered Bottle Vase tutorial over on the May Arts blog, I highly suggest that you do! Hee-hee! Here is a photo of the completed project! It takes a long time, but it turns out so cute!

Altered Bottle Vase

Happy Thursday and Happy Back to School for those who are impacted by that around this time of year!!!

Loving that card and that vase, too. My parents are also still without power - I hope that light is restored to everyone soon. Not a fun way to spend a relaxing holiday weekend. Hope yours is a good one!
