A Birthday Banner Full of CUTENESS!!!! (If I do say so, myself. Just say'n.)

No, for reals, though. It's pretty darned adorable! Seriously, folks. You know I wouldn't lie to you on a Monday morning. That's just wrong. So, here it is...




Heeeeee!!!!!! And it has pink ribbon to hang from. Seriously. Isn't it SOOO cute!!!! I think it is. It was just too much fun to create! TOO MUCH FUN! I am so going to have to make more of these, but they do take some time, so maybe not right away! I have dolls to create, after all!



Sally the Cricut got put into HIGH gear for this one, kids! HI GEAR! The pennants are actually cut from the Calligraphy cartridge, the alphabet is from A Child's Year, and the ladybugs are from Paisley! For reals. I told you she put a lot of work into this one! HA! And she didn't even FLINCH when I told her to cut 39 of both the pink AND the green ladybug layers! And that, my friends, is why I love Sally the Cricut!



I created the crepe paper medallions by folding strips into a circle. I love doing that. It makes me happy. Well, the results do, anyway! HA! Oh, and of course I had to add some sparkle, so the spots on the ladybugs are fabulous glitter spots! Thank you, Martha Stewart. Just say'n.

This banner was created to go with those little cupcake toppers that I posted last week. I think it is going to be one SERIOUSLY adorable little party!!!

Well, I have an early morning date with a bag of Swedish Fish, so I'm off...

....and just because I haven't done this in like forever and then some....

Fabulous Friday - LINK PARTY!!!!

Well, folks, here we are! It's Friday! I have had a super busy week, yet again, but I can say that I have seen a few fabulous projects out there in blogland this week! BUT, I also know that there are more that I don't even know about!!! So, here it is! Your chance to show off what you created this week! Did you bake something amazing? Make a wearable masterpiece? Here is my project!

I started with an inexpensive wood framed mirror from IKEA! I {heart} IKEA!!!



I layered Maya Road Chipboard Houses over the wood mirror frame and glued them down with Tombow Mono Adhesive. I then painted over those with a light colored paint. I coated it with a layer of crackle medium and then, once dry, painted the brown over that. Then I watched the magic happen! I {heart} crackle medium! It's just wicked crazy cool!!! Just say'n.



I finished it off by adding a really pretty organza ribbon with some super fabulous Prima flowers! I actually glued them in place (Tombow Mono) as the simple foam adhesive they came with wasn't quite strong enough for this type of project.

Little Ladybug Cupcake Toppers!

Wanna see some SUPER cute Cupcake Toppers? So tell me, if you were turning 1 would these make you happy? Heck, I think they would make me happy and I'm THIRTY ONE! HA!



I created the pleated disc with my new Martha Stewart Score Board. Seriously, you guys. This thing is like GOLD! (And a 50% off coupon certainly doesn't hurt! Just say'n.) I accordian folded strips of patterned paper and adhered them into the disc shape. I love them! The Ladybugs are punched circles (one is cut in half, obviously) and then I embellished them with those adorable wire antlers and some fabulous lime green bling! LOVE!



CUTENESS!!!! I hope you like them, because I am totally in love with the darned things! HA!

What's on YOUR Workspace Wednesday 14 July 2010

It's time for an exciting edition of what's on your workspace Wednesday!!!! Well, there is actually quite a lot on my workspace. Way too much, actually. The thing is an absolute DISASTER! HA!

Here is the productive part:



I am currently working on some cupcake toppers and a Happy Birthday banner for a sweet little girl's first birthday party!!! This is a fun project! Her mom got her the CUTEST little pink and green lady bug onesie with a pink and green tutu!!! SO CUTE!!!! I am using the pink and green ladybug theme in the pieces. LOVING IT!!!! And I thought it was super sweet that her mom asked me to make them!!!

You can also see over on the side, there, some fun new stuff I acquired this week. I simply HAD to order the Paisley Cricut Cartridge because, well, it had a couple of cute ladybugs on it and I HAD to use them for this project! LOL! (They will be added to the banner.) You can also see a few treasures that I found outside on the ground when I went for a walk during my break yesterday. Yes, I do randomly pick up rusty old washers, bolts, and random cool looking tags when I see them. I'm a mixed media artist, for goodnesums sake! Of COURSE I pick them up! The Hubbums will even pick stuff up now and then for me now because he knows I love treasures!!! Anyway, I figure I'm accomplishing two things - cleaning up small bits of the planet because some not very nice person obviously littered these pieces AND acquiring free supplies for my art! Happiness all around! And that little cylinder box arrived in the mail yesterday with some Crystal Light samples in it. I think I was WAY more excited about the box than I was about the samples! HA!

And then there is the other side of my desk:



Yup. That's the disaster part. The sad thing is, I sorta cleaned up to make room to work on that stuff you saw above! YIKES! Well, at least you know I use my stuff. I'd hate to have it all nicely put away because I was never using it! LOL! Yup. That's my story and I'm stick'n to it! Just say'n.

This card started with this amazingly fantastic sketch by the ROCK STAR, Kim Kesti!

The stamp is from the Skipping Stones Design set called Tropical Birthday.  It's SUPER STINKING ADORABLE!  Just say'n.  I colored the image using Tombow markers.  I really love their blender pen!  It does happy things!!!  The papers and flowers are all Sassafrass!  And, of course, the ink is Close To My Heart.









Okay, so I'm adding more to this post because it's bugging me that I didn't talk enough! HA! I don't know what to talk about, though, so I don't know why I thought I should talk. You know...sometimes maybe I actually DO just like to hear the sound of my own ... uhh... fingers typing! HA! WOW! I'm random. Well, I suppose random is better than boring. Most CERTAINLY better than boring. I'm sure of it. I mean, Willy Wonka is TOTALLY random and HE certainly isn't boring! Right? Right. Just say'n. Okay. That's enough of that insanity for now. TaTa for now, my dear friends!

A View From the Window - A Skipping Stones Design Card

HIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!

There, it's Monday. I thought I should wake you up. Seeing as I'm half asleep, I figured others probably are, too. Just say'n.

This weekend was not too bad...you know, no trips to the hospital or ANYTHING! HA! I'm trying to think of something amusing about it to share, but really, unless a trip trip to BJ's for groceries is funny....yeah, I got nothin'.

There was the part where The Hubbums and I were discussing the fact that nobody every ACTUALLY perceives reality. That's a fun one. You see, human eyes only see reflections of light bouncing off of matter and such. Theoretically, we could each be perceiving these things entirely differently from one another, but due to the fact that we have defined things using language, we have a universal means by which to interact with our surroundings even if we are perceiving things differently. Also, this means that nobody ACTUALLY sees reality, only reflections, perceptions, of sorts. Sorta makes ya wonder, huh?

That leads me to the card that I created using some of my super cute Skipping Stones Design stamps and some good old fashioned vellum!



The images are actually stamped on the back of the vellum and then I swiped some white paint gently behind them to give the illusion of an outdoor scene, perhaps in early evening as the sky begins to turn to night.



I coated the outside of the vellum windows with a Liquid Glass glaze to give them the glass-like look. The entire window frame is raised to give the card dimension and also, to allow light to seep in behind the windows. I was half tempted to build a light into the card! HA! (I did that on a layout once, actually. Just say'n.)



The simplicity of the string tied around the bottom of the window allows the view to be the focal point of the card. It's sort of peaceful. At least I think so.

Also, an another entirely different note: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMY!!!!!!!! (Yup, it's my Mom's birthday and she usually reads my blog, so hopefully she will see this! YAY!!!)
