Simon Says Stamp Challenge - We are GIFTED!

It's an Anything Goes week over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog this week! The design team has had a lot of fun creating gifts for EACH OTHER! That's right! We created fun gifts for one another and sent them on their merry way! Here is the bracelet I created for Miss Dawny!

I used some fabulous Aged Rose ebmossing enamel from Stampendous! to cover my bracelet and then added a bit of stamped tissue to the flat surfaces to add the images.

Stampendous! and DIY Bangles Blog Hop!

It's time for the Stampendous! and DIY Bangles Blog Hop!!! I have created a fun Santa pendant to share with you today using one of the simple tube beads from DIY Bangles. I used several layers of Snow and Ruby embossing powder on the bead, overheating just a bit to achieve a vintage look. I then used Scor-Tape to adhere flock and glitter to create a Santa look on my bead! A bit of May Arts twine finishes off the pendant, making it a fun holiday necklace!

Jingle Out!

A Pretty Bracelet, handmade? Sure! I can do that!

This week Stampendous! is teaming up with DIY Bangles to show off some totally awesome projects! These are PERFECT if you like to make handmade gifts for your loved ones!

I got to play with the large Pentagon bangle for this one. It began as simply a plain, wood bracelet, but with a bit of Stampendous! magic... well....


I began by covering the entire thing with Aged Rose Embossing Enamel. I covered both the outside and the inside of the bangle. To do this, apply VersaMark in sections, sprinkle on the enamel, heat, and repeat until you have gone all the way around the outside. After completing the outside, do the same on the inside - you will need a VersaMarker or a small VersaMark ink pad to easily ink the inside of the bracelet.


The next step for this piece was to stamp the butterflies and flourish from the Charm Collection Perfectly Clear Stamp Set on white tissue with StazOn ink. I carefully trimmed these pieces and then affixed them to the bangle using Beacon Fast Finish.


Finally, I glued gems around the bracelet using Beacon Fabritac. (This stuff is pretty strong, so it was a good choice for this project.) I love how it turned out! AND...I know exactly to whom I'm giving this fun bracelet!

It's EARTH DAY! Make an Upcycled Coke Can Bracelet!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Earth Day!!!

I apologize for not posting yesterday...I was not feeling well, as that Spring that I was wanting so badly has begun to arrive and now it is attacking in the form of insane allergies! LOL! It figures, huh? Nothing like noticing the new picture of a Puffer Fish in your house and then realizing that you are actually looking at a mirror and that Puffer Fish is your face! But, I'm doing better and happily medicated now, so hoping for a good day!

Today is Earth Day and that is just a great and wonderful thing! To celebrate, I am posting a quick tutorial on making an upcycled Coke can bracelet! I would really love to see your Earth Day posts today, too! So please tell me about them so I can check them out!

Supplies:

One soda can.
A pair of good scissors. (I used EK Success Titanium CutterBees)
Maybe a set of jewlry plyers to help with the folds.

1. Cut off the top and bottom of a soda can. You want to stay fairly close to the ends, as you will be folding the sides in and for a cuff bracelet you want it nice and wide.



2. Fold in the sides twice so that all sharp edges are folded in. Do this carefully as the cut aluminum is very sharp!





3. I wanted curved ends, so I cut a curve on each end before folding down those edges. This makes the folding rather challenging, but gives a nice finished look.



4. Using a cylinder as a guide, gently curve the metal into shape. You can adjust it to the proper side after doing this, but you want to use a cylinder to get it started to avoid kinks.



5. Put the cuff on to check for size and make any adjustments that may be needed.



And that's it! Nice and easy and a great fun way to let people know that you are an addict. I mean, that you are GREEN! Yeah...that's it....greeeen.....
