A Colorful Birthday

Crafter's Companion has a brand new Stamp It! Austarlia release coming today and it is AWESOME!  So many gorgeous designs!  I was pretty excited to play with them!  I pulled out two stamps from the Once In a Lifetime set.  I love this camera stamp and this amazing background!!!  LOVE them!



I used distress inks to color the background.  LOVE THE COLOR!  It's bright and happy!  YAY!!!  I fussy cut around the camera to make an accent out of it and then used a simple sentiment sticker.  A bit of polka dotted paper behind the image panel grounds it on the dark card base.

Only An Instant

So...today's project is a bit outside of the box...okay...well, actually, it IS a box. But it's a bit different from what you normally see around here. It's a mini album! In a box. Yeah... I know... but just watch... I think you will like it! YAY!


If you happen to follow me on Instagram, then you know that I love it. I take instagrams of stuff just to see what it looks like photographed. Literally. So... I thought I'd create a fun little album with some of those shots and a few words on each one.


I created a paper pieced version of the Instagram logo using cardstock and colored pencils. Instead of the 'Insta', I took some creative liberty and made it 'Ingle' instead. *wink* *wink* See what I did there?

HA! I totally just said that. Whew! K... Moving on...


Inside I have the photos connected with two long strips of ribbon to allow them to fold Jacob's ladder style inside the box. There are loops at the top and bottom so it's easy to get them in and out. On the back of each, is typewritten journaling.

This was WAY fun to make! I think the most fun was a toss up between finding/taking cool shots for it and recreating the logo - I love how the colored pencils worked so nicely to create the lens look! LOVE IT!!!!

Lights, Camera... SMILE!!!

It is time for a brand new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog and it is ANYTHING GOES week! AND...because it's an Anything Goes week, I decided to also play along with the Camera Craze Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! It's gonna be a wild ride today, folks! Nothing but crazy around here! HA! No... but for reals...


The Simon Says Challenge Design Team is using Tim Holtz products on our project today. Yes... I could have gone simple and just used ink, but I decided to challenge myself to go a bit outside of my box and came up with this!


Instead of going with just a traditional camera, I sort of took a different take and went with well...camera GUTS! It's the inside that counts, right? HAHAHA! Seriously, you guys, sometimes I crack myself up. ANYWAY... that was the inspiration behind this fun card!
