I have seen so many amazing 'scene' style patterned papers that have all these cool colors and images over the background and they have just been really jumping out at me. I decided that I wanted to try to create something similar using inks and stamps, so I grabbed a few of my Scrolls Work stamps and set to it!
Yup. I'm pretty much in love with it. First of all, that tree stamp is one of my favorites! It is just too cool! I began by cutting a white circle from cardstock and I stamped the background with a marble background stamp and then, over that, I stamped the tree.
After that I pretty much just went nuts on the thing. No...like, for reals. I colored the image with Prismacolor markers and then went to TOWN with Tim Holtz Distress inks (Ranger) to create the layered colors you see in the background. I then added a subtle outline of the same tree stamp to give a subtle forest background effect.
Then, I mounted the image circle on a really cool Cosmo Cricket background paper. I love it! The ribbon adds just a simple finishing touch! Well, that and the fabulous little ghostie! I {heart} him. Although, it made me a little sad when I showed the card to The Hubbums and he said, "That's neat! Does it glow?"
I want it to glow now. *hmph!* Just say'n.
So, that's my wicked cool card of the day! I hope you love it, 'cause I kinda do!!!
On another note...tea makes me happy. Specifically, Lady Grey. Just say'n.
