Long Live the Queen (That would be the Mixed Media piece...I'm not claiming to be the queen of messy desks, although, some may give me that title. Just say'n.)

***This is the second of two posts for today so don't forget to check out the Pixie Dust Studio Sneak Peek below! It's wicked crazy cuteness com'n at ya! Just say'n.***

(Please read the following in your best possible Game Show announcer voice. K? K. Thanks. Just say'n.)
Hey, folks! Guess what?!

Yessireee...that's right! You have once again fallen onto Just Jingle for the ever popular WHAT'S ON YOUR WORKSPACE WEDNESDAY post!!! (*cheers* *dings* *more cheers* *still more cheers* *okay enough, already with the cheers!*....)

And today, we have something NEW AND EXCITING for Yoooouuuu!!!! Yes, that's right, folks. Today we have Jingle's MESSY desk!!!! (*crowd goes wild*)

(*crowd quickly realizes that there is nothing new, nor exciting about that and goes dead silent*) (*chirp) (*chirp)

HA! Okay, you can stop using your Game Show announcer voice now, but I DO have a fun messy desk to share with you today, I PROMISE! It's not JUST piles of stuff! HA!

WOYWW 3Aug2011

I took the shot today at a slightly different angle because I have lots of fun projects on there, but I don't want to show them off TOO much yet because I am excited to share them when they are finished!!! I had a highly productive weekend. Got a ton of stuff done and I've been sharing some and still have more to share over the next few days. I did get my zombie dolls done, but I can't share them quite yet because one was for a swap so I want her to receive it before I post them.

This is a mixed media piece I created, though, that I really wanted to show you! It is called Long Live the Queen.

Long Live the Queen

I used the new Digital Collage Sheet, Victorian Dollie from Retro Cafe Art for the center image. The Crown is the Classic Brass Crown charm from RCA, as well. I covered the chipboard background with a vintage book page and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. The edges are inked with distress ink for even more color. I then added the vintage lace trim and the frilly blue trim and covered the edges with glass glitter.

The image itself is covered with a one step crackle glaze and then inked to age it.

A bit of wire attached at the bottom secures a chandelier dangle bead.

I had a lot of fun with this piece! I hope you like it!

OH...and it *looks* like I might hit 100,000 views today here on Just Jingle and it just so happens that this is my anniversary month, too, so you can expect to see a giveaway popping up around here pretty soon! If you get a chance head on over to my Facebook Page and vote for what you would like to see in a giveaway! I have a poll set up over there! Thanks!

  2. You crack me up, lil' girl! I just love you! LOL! But I BETTER not find myself talking like a game show host all day. BWAHAHAHAHA! Seriously, this is one of my fave cards to date! It amazes me, all these millions of techniques you incorporate! I keep a little list of the various products you mention so I can go check them out later when I have a few minutes! Awesome art!!!

  4. Really, I think I am the queen! I don't even know how I can make such a mess. I don't cook that way, not even at Thanksgiving! Lovely project, just love the bee!

  9. I LOVE this beauty. You sure put a lot of thought, energy, and techniques into the Queen. Love it.

Sorry about last week. I was unable to click on your name. Something happened and it was over one of the postings on Julia's sidebar. At least that is not the case this week.

  11. Hi again, thanks for replying to my question about the size of your mixed media piece. And as for metric - I'm assuming that you're on the other side of the pond and under the delusion that we don't use inches any more, lol. I suppose that's the case where children are concerned, but believe me when I tell you that imperial measurements are still alive and well over here, and DS1 who is 21 doesn't really do metric! :D
