What's on Your Workspace Wednesday!

Okay, so here's the deal.... my awesome friend Carla decided to give away a bunch of her scrappy/crafty stuff and GUESS WHAT!!!!???  I got some really great stuff and I am SO excited to play with it all!

The adjuster went out to take a look at my car yesterday.  She said she would call as soon as she had a number and she hasn't called yet.  That's a little nervous making, but...honestly, it will be what it will be.  This is why we have insurance.

Also, I am very excited to tell you that I am now a part of the permanent Scrolls Work design team!!!!  I love working with Scrolls Work and I am absolutely THRILLED to be a part of this amazing team!!!!

My New Purse {Wordless Wednesday}

Woodgrain on Wood? Why not?

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday!!! And it is a new month with a new sketch designer, too, and let me tell you we have a month of FANTASTIC sketches provided by the fabulous Laurie Schmidlin! We also have two AMAZING guest artists this month, Mona Pendleton and my wonderful friend, Diana Fisher!!!! YAY!!!

For today's card I decided to go with a little woodgrain on wood action. Yup. I totally used the Grunge set to stamp woodgrain onto Creative Imaginations Real Wood sheets. You know you're jealous. Just say'n. HA!!!!






I created a small tag from the real wood and stamped the sentiment from Heartsong onto it.






And, of course, buttons and bows! You know how I DO SO LOVE buttons and bows!!!!






The papers are Basic Grey and the Buttons are from Foofala. Those adorable pearls on the side? Those are Kaiser Crafts, the stamps, of course, are Skipping Stones, and the ink is Close To My Heart (Brownbag). That little leather piece on the tag is ... ummmm... from my stash?

Journey = Life, Destination: Unknown

This is a page I did over the weekend based on the current sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

Destination: Unknown


This photo of me is from last summer and is taken on the tracks while we waited for the train one day. As I was looking at it over the weekend it brought to mind a gentle reminder that life is, indeed, a journey. However, despite a constant need to continue on this journey, our destination is truly yet unknown.



We don't know what may come ahead of us. We don't know what our life on this Earth will bring. But what I do know is that I want to live each and every one of those moments for a reason. I want to embrace them. Each one. I want to be present in each moment that is given to me.



How exciting is it that we have this life to embrace? Think of all the fun we can have in discovery along the path!!! Just think of all that may be! Isn't it amazing?



Today, I challenge you to make someone smile. Just one person. Do something that makes them smile. You will feel the rewards and you will feel that moment. You will be able to truly experience that moment. You will be present.



And then...don't forget to smile for yourself. You are beautiful.

Thank you all for the very kind comments yesterday! They helped make it all a bit easier. I'm still a little 'off' from the whole incident, but, I'm okay, otherwise. As for the car, well, it had to be towed and I won't know the extent of the damage until the middle of next week.
