A Triple Predicament and The Ruffle Headband that solved it

Well, you see, here's the thing.  This week has been a bit busy, to be quite honest.  I've had quite a bit of creating to do along with holiday stuff and other stuff, and, well, STUFF!  Lots of STUFF!  HA!  And....I did make a SUPER cute card the other night, but I realized that I can't share that one with you yet, so hmmm...that led to predicament numero uno:  Nothing to post today.

WELLLLL....we had a bit of time between an appointment yesterday and the holiday concert at the school last night so we stopped to grab a bite and decided to wander the Gap for a bit.  That was silly.  I don't 'wander' at the Gap, you see.  I buy stuff at the Gap.  Particularly when everything in the store is buy one get one 60% off.  SO.....that led to the purchase of a super cute grey knit top and an even CUTER olive cardigan.  (P.S.  I {heart} cardigans.  Just say'n.)  (Oh!  And I {heart} the Gap, too.  Just say'n.).  WEll....THAT led to dilemma number TWO! - New cardigan without a single coordinating hair accessory.  *sigh*

And...the final snare in my trifecta was that little problem that we had just come home from the concert at around 9:15pm.  I fed the dogs, took them out and it was now around 9:30 pm.  Oh...and I had just opened my awesome mail that included an envie stuffed with BRAND NEW Riley Blake fabrics from Samantha Walker.

Hmmmmmm......so.....9:30 at night....I have to get up at 5.  I want to wear new stuff....I need a coordinating hair accessory.....I have brand new fabric.....

Yup!  That's when it happened!

Ruffle Headband
My new ruffle headband was born!  Yay!  I pulled out a super cute strip of the fabric from the envelope that happened to already be cut in the perfect size/shape for the project I had in mind....(okay...so maybe that's HOW the project came to mind, but you know...just say'n and all....).  I stitched (using a long running stitch) the fabric in a tube inside out over a stretchy headband I had on hand, scrunched it all together and pulled it right side in (this was a bit of a pain, to be honest, but I don't like showing seams!), and then gathered my stitches and finished off the ends for a 15 minute headband!  Yup!  15 minutes!

Ruffle Headband
Yes, folks, all three of my predicaments were resolved in a matter of 15 minutes.  And CUTENESS was had by one and all.  For reals.  I love this thing!  And I am happily wearing my new cute top, my new cute cardi, AND my new cute headband....with some cute jeans and my Toms.  Just say'n.

Me Wearing Ruffle Headband
Oh, and yes, I did fix that lapel so I won't go to work looking ridiculous.  Well, no more than usual, anyway!  HA!

Have a super happy Friday!!!!!!

Jingle Out.

HAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!  *love.*

  6. Very cute! When I was in high school, I made little gathered tank tops out of like, a half yard of fabric. They were cute and kept me really cool (I worked in a pizza place at night). Everyone I knew wanted me to make them one! You know that's what's going to happen with your cute headband!

  9. Oh my gosh! You are too cute and clever. Love it! It's funny how that white strip ended up in your envelope in the first place. I had all my sample stacks on the table and a few scraps to the side. I packed some extra orange fabric for you just in case you wanted to do an art doll dress...then saw the white in my scrap pile, and thought it could work with that fabric as a ruffle or something on a doll dress...I have to tell you...it is so cute in your hair. I love what you did with it! And I'm laughing because it was almost put into my scraps box. Glad I sent it...now I want to make one. ;o)
