Wanna Be A Cowgirl? I'm guesting over at Samantha Walker Designs today!

As some of you know, I got the AMAZING Grand Calibur for my birthday back in February.  Well....I am excited today to have a simple tutorial on how to use it with the fabulous Samantha Walker Spellbinder's dies!

Wanna Be a Cowgirl

I created this super fun card with ALL Samantha Walker goodies!  I KNOW!  Fun stuff!  You can see the full tutorial over on Samantha's fabulous blog!  I can't wait to read your comments over there!

Well, I did it. I made a layout. Actually, two. {WOYWW}

Yup. I did one. The one you see here. And then...I went and did another one. CRAZINESS, I TELL YOU! The thing is, since I haven't been scrapbooking, I've fallen into that horrid habit of never actually printing photos (they are all on my computer), so I've used super old prints for these. I need to sit down and upload a bunch to Walgreens so I can get more recent prints. BUT, alas, at least I have a couple of layouts to share! The one I am sharing today was done for the May Arts/Creative Imaginations collaboration and you can see the entire process over on the May Arts blog! There is a great chance to win, too!

With This Ring

If I'm being honest with you, I don't really know if I like it or not. If someone ELSE created it, I would like it. I just don't know if it is really me or not, you know? I do think it suits the style of the papers that I was sent, so that's good. Does that ever happen to you, though? You feel like you would like it if someone else made it, but just not sure if you like it because YOU made it. That probably doesn't make any sense. My crazy is showing isn't it? HA! The thing of it is, I really like the clean and simply look, but for some reason, on scrapbook pages, I have a hard time getting it to work. I end up with stuff like this, instead, because I feel like I can actually achieve the look this way. Okay. Now I'm REALLY not making sense. *sigh* Well, hopefully at least one of you understands! HA! If you would like to see my process, though, check it out over on the May Arts blog. It was kind of fun documenting it!

Now...as for my desk...well, you know how it is....

WOYWW 4.11.2012

Let's see, right now it looks as though the Eyelet Outlet and Scrapbook Circle kinda threw up on my desk. HA! I started to work on a set of projects for Eyelet Outlet and found myself utterly uninspired, I just got the May Scrapbook Circle kit in hand, so that is hiding under a few things there... and... that's about the story of it. I think I will work on the Eyelet Outlet stuff tonight and maybe do a little Alice playing with some Stampendous! goodies tonight, too. That sounds like fun, actually. Let's make it a date! K? K. Thanks. Bye.

Happy

Did you have a good Easter and/or Passover celebration? I hope so. We had a lovely day with family yesterday and there were, of course, jelly beans involved, so it was happy. Happy is good. Just say'n.

Happy

This is a card I created with the Scrapbook Circle Daydreamer kit. I love that I was able to easily combine so many manufacturers all with this one, pretty little card! Those Heidi Swapp Banners are just TOO.MUCH.FUN! And, as you are likely aware, I {heart} the Amy Tangerine lines from American Crafts! LOVE.THEM.FOR.REALS. For. Reals, you guys. Love them.

happy (detail)

The polka dot paper is from Jillibean Soup, the hearts and the flower are from Amy Tangerine papers and the banner is Heidi Swapp Color Magic goodness! The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous!

To be honest with you...I'm a bit out of steam at the moment. I have a bazillion and one commitments this month, and, well, I'm feeling it this time around. It's one of those times when I look around and realize that maybe I am as crazy as everyone says I am! HA! But, alas, I do love it all, and I know I can do it, so...I put one foot in front of the other and make the most of every moment. So, my wish for you today, is to make the most of each moment you have today...you just might need them! :-)

Thinking of You - Stampendous! Challenge Saturday!

Yes, that's right! We have another FABULOUS new challenge for you this month over at Stampendous! We are ALL about recycling this month! Use what you have and make it AWESOME! Don't throw away that packaging - you can use it! How about that fabric you hemmed off those pants...sounds good to me! Or, perhaps that paper bag you came home from the store carrying...yup...that would work, too! You name it! Recycle, reuse, repurpose!!!

I decided to use this chance to repurpose to also play along with the Moxie Fab World DIY Embellishment Challenge! I made a flag for my sentiment on this fun card!

Thinking of You

I began by stamping the Jumbo Cling Dahlia stamp on my craft panel with Distress Ink. I let that dry COMPLETELY and then stamped the Lone Bird image with embossing ink and embossed it with gold detail enamel.

TOY Detail 1

After embossing the bird, I sprinkled some Aged Silver and some Detail Gold enamel on the card randomly and then used the heat gun underneath the cardstock to melt it so it wouldn't go flying everywhere. That's a good tip. You don't want embossing powder flying everywhere. Just say'n.

TOY detail 3

For the flag, I pulled out a lollipop stick, of all things, and coated it with VersaMark ink and then with the gold embossing enamel. I carefully heated it to melt the powder to create my own gold flagpole! SO FUN! I then tied a bit of ribbon around the flat and adhered it to a cardstock flag that I cut, distressed, inked, and bent to look like it is waving. I stamped and embossed the sentiment from the Happy Messages set onto the flag and adhered it to the card in that wavy form! *LOVE!*

So...that's how I made my own embellishment for this fun card! We would LOVE to have you join in our recycle, reuse, repurpose challenge! You can link up on any of the links along the way, as they are all the same so your card will appear on all of them once you link to one. For more info on the challenge, check out the Stampendous! Blog! Now check out what the design team has done for this week! They kinda rock. For reals. Just say'n.

Don't forget - we want YOU to play along with is!  You have until Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:59 PM EST to add your direct link to our collection at the end of this post (or on the Stampendous blog).  You do not have to use Stampendous products, but we sure love it when you do!  As an extra incentive for playing along, one lucky crafter (drawn at random) will receive this fabulous Mother's Love Perfectly Clear Stamp Set.  Available in stores now, it will be on the website for purchase soon!

Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you have a chance to play along with us (you an enter as many times as you'd like!) this month...Happy Crafting!

Cupcake for YOU!

Yup! That's what I have for you today! A Cupcake. For you. Just say'n. I created this card using one of the adorable new release sets from Precious Remembrance Shop! I just love this super cute cupcake and seriously? Could that sentiment be any better? Nope. It couldn't. Just say'n.

Cupcake for You

I used paper scraps from my Scrapbook Circle Daydreamer kit for this card, as well. The papers are just awesome! The embossing enamel is from Stampendous! I let it stray a bit to keep the look playful and a bit messy. It's kind of fun that way!

I am also linking this up to the Moxie Fab World Paper Scraps Challenge! Those little bits can do WONDERS! Love that!

This is my second of two posts for today so I hope you will check out my other post, as well! Head on over to the Precious Remembrance blog to see more details on my card and see what others have created with the fun new sets!
