It's Mardi Gras Time at Gingersnap Creations! {aka: The card that nearly killed me.)

If you are here to check out my Butterfly Post click here or scroll to the post below!

The Gingersnappers are celebrating Mardi Gras and it's all about the party! You know you want to make a mask, so come join in the fun!!!

Mardi Gras

Here is the fun little card I created for the challenge. Well, it would appear to be a fun little card, however, I have to say, it nearly killed me. No. For reals, people. You see those perfect Mardis Gras feathers? You know...the ones with purple, green, and gold coloring that simply HAD to be used. Well, as it turns out, they are real and I am horribly allergic to them. Contact with them set my allergies into full force and then that led straight into the cold that I've had for over a week now. Yup. This card nearly killed me. Just say'n. HA!!! I honestly find the entire thing, rather amusing. I really do.

I suppose that is what I get for buying random bags of real feathers from sweet little old ladies at yard sales. Just say'n.

Those fabulous mask stamps? Yup. Those are totally Scrolls Work stamps. I love that stamp!

Also, I want to say a BIG Happy Birthday to my fabulous little Sister, Sarah!!!!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Theodora - Earth Mother of the Butterflies

So, what could be better than a Butterfly Blog Party? Well, how about a Butterfly Blog Party hosted by the amazingly talented and inspiring Eva? Yes, folks that is EXACTLY what you have stumbled upon on this fine Sunday and I have a treat to share with you!

I would like to introduce you to Theodora. Theodora is the Earth Mother of the Butterflies. She talks with nature and listens even more. She is aware and attentive. She is quiet. She is gentle.

Theodora

Theodora is a theatre doll with a simple box for her base displayed in the gorgeous 100 Proof Press circus tent image. Her torso is paper and covered with beautiful butterflies and glass glitter. Her face is a paper clay mold that I painted with acrylics (and a little tiny brush!).

Theodora (upper)

I was so very excited when Eva invited me to take part in her fabulous Butterfly party because this project has been sitting half done for WEEKS! When Eva mentioned butterflies it was like a stream of inspiration hit and Theodora finally spoke to me and came out of that beautiful inspiration! I really love it when projects come out of pure inspiration! I am so happy with her.

Theodora (shadow box)

I hope you are inspired by this gentle soul born out of pure inspiration! And I hope you enjoy the other fabulous projects joining Eva's Butterfly Party!

She Would Have To Settle For Being A Beauty Queen...

Over at Gingersnap Creations we are celebrating the world of work! And how can we possible do that without OFFICE SUPPLIES!!! Yup. I love 'em. You love 'em. We all pretty much love 'em. (***Even if you don't just pretend you do and go with it K? K. Thanks. Just say'n.)

And what better use for office supplies than CREATING!!!! Yup. That's pretty much what they are for in my mind.

She Would Have To Settle on Being a Beauty Queen...

This sweet little thing simply wasn't cut out to be a typest. So, she decided she would just have to settle on being a beauty queen, instead. *sigh* The sacrifices we women must make in our lives.

HA!!!!

Typest (close)

As you can see I pulled out some super fun supplies for this little piece. A lovely library pocket serves as the base combined with typewriter font stamps and stickers, alphabet measuring tape, ledger paper (my fave!!!), and a super cute binder clip of happy-making!!!! Oh...and a bit of string. Because string is just fun and useful and stuff. Just say'n.

So...are you ready to join the challenge? What can you create using office supply themed projects! Check out what the always amazing Gingers created and then link up your project over on the challenge post!

Leave a comment letting me know what you think!!!

***Note: Well, obviously, this statement is more than true! I totally mispelled Typist and will be correcting that later. Or maybe I won't. We shall see. Ooopsies!!!! These things happen. Just say'n.***

Urban Cowboy - Samantha Walker Blog Hop

Today is Samantha Walker Designs Blog Hop DAY!!!! YAY!!!! If you have come here from Samantha's blog you have just begun the fun! If you happen to come to visit me, first of all, THANKS! LOVE THAT! Second of all, feel free to jump back to Samantha's blog to start the hop and check out the awesome Cowboy Collection Product you can win by hopping with us today!!!
Oh...and big news... I decided to go all out and do a real live scrapbook layout for this one! *shock* I KNOW, right? Right. K.

So...here's the story that goes with today. I have a miserable, miserable, miserable cold and I left work early on Monday to come home. I had planned on working on my layout and getting it ready for this very post on Monday night, but instead I had soup, Nyquil, and went to bed at 8:30. Just say'n. Sooooo...that's fine...Tuesday night is a bit last minute, seeing as the post is scheduled to go up at midnight, but I can handle a bit of pressure. No worries.

Here is the conversation from Monday night:

Hubbums: Kerry is thinking about getting a new camera and I told her about yours. Can I bring it in to school tomorrow to show her?

Wifee: Sure! That will be fine.

****fast forward to Tuesday evening at home****

Hubbums: Kerry was all excited about your camera! She loves it!

Wifee: That's because it is an awesome camera. I love it, too!

Hubbums: I let her keep borrow it overnight so she can take some shots to try it out.

Wifee: Oh.

Yup. My super sweet Hubbums sort of didn't know I had photos to take and post tonight, so...I have no camera. Yes, for those following my blog I just got this camera for my birthday while we were in Denver, but I kinda sorta gave my old one away already, thus...no backup camera. I have a Droid. Just say'n.

Sooooo....now that we got that out....I will share my photos of my layout and update them as soon as I get my Nikon back in my hands. In the meantime, Nikon should thank me and The Hubbums, as we are obviously selling your cameras quite effectively! Just say'n.

Urban Cowboy

*This photo has now been replaced. Thanks for your patience!*

Urban Cowboy is created with the Cowboy Collection by Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations. In other words, it's created with super cuteness!!! The papers, stickers, and rubons are all from that collection making it super quick and easy to create this way fun layout!

Urban Cowboy title

I stamped the image from Encompassed Grace (Samantha Walker for Unity)on a sheet of Creative Imaginations Real Wood - Birch. I then overlaid the rubon from the Cowboy Collection and added Making Memories letter stickers for the title blog.

Urban Cowboy photo block

I added a bit of twine, some brads, and a strip of leather to finish the layout off!

The next stop on the hop is the absolutely AMAZING Guiseppa! Seriously...this chick ROCKS!

To see the full hop list check out Samantha's blog!

Here is the card I created using this week's sketch:
