A Shimmery Valentine on a Monday Morning

Well, it is Monday and it is currently about 16 degrees (F) outside. Ummm...that's nuts. And sadly, I know that isn't the lowest we will see for the winter. Someone remind me why I live here, again? Hmmmm...

Well, I did finally get around to visiting my local Big Lots yesterday. I know...fancy shopping, eh? HA! Well, the thing of it is, they often have supplies for great prices and I picked up a few little things that I'm super excited about including some GREAT grey yarn that will be PERFECT for hair for my dolls, some Basic Grey stickers and embellishments (they had paper and stamps, too, but I decided not to get them), and a couple of Creative Imaginaations embellishments, too. I was excited! All for about $5. YAY!

Oh...and I dyed my hair blue.

Yes. For reals.

No. Not all of it.

We just put in some streaks. I. LOVE. IT. For reals, you guys, I can't even tell you!!!! NO. Really. Love it. Photos will come sometime when it isn't 5 something in the morning. Just Say'n.

Blue.

In my hair. For reals. SO EXCITED!!!!!

So, yeah. Well, here is the card I wanted to share with you today. I pulled my inspiration from the Moxie Fab Metallics Color Challenge. The colors are Gold Leaf Metallic, Satin Wedding White, and Pinkini (Bazzill names).

And here is my card using those gorgeous colors! I love the softness of it. I just wish you could see the shimmer really well, because it is STUNNING in real life. That paper is a shimmer, giving a true gold and satin look. Beautiful.

Love

The stamp is a tiny little sneak peek of a soon-to-be-released Skipping Stones Design set. I love it! The perfect font for this card! Stamped in Clearsnap gold ink. The ribbon is Close To My Heart and the brad is from Making Memories. That adorable tiny tag is Jolee's By You (EK Success).

So, it is a shimmery happy Valentine! And a simple one, at that, but you know...sometimes I think you gotta let the paper shine! I mean, really, if it is already willing to do the work, let's let it do it. Just Say'n!

I hope you have a fabulous Monday! I hope some of you get to spend the day off due to the holiday today. The Hubbums' gets to stay home, but, alas, I am off to work. At least it will be somewhat interesting as I'm showing up with blue hair! HA! Have a super fabulous day!!!

My Love Has Wings

So, I pretty much had a great day yesterday. I got to spend time with The Hubbums and spend tons of time creating! It was super productive, too! My favorite kind of creative time!!! This is one of the cards that I created!

My Love Has Wings

My Love Has Wings

I stamped a Skipping Stones stamp on the acrylic wings with Staz On and layered the fun little stuffed felt heart over that with stacked vintage buttons tied together with a pale blue thread. I love the color combination!

My Love Has Wings (close)

I was inspired by a couple of fantastic challenges that really gave me some great ideas to bring the design together! Jules, over at Gingersnap Creations challenged us to stamp on acrylic for the Once In a Blue Moon Challenge. I SO often forget I even HAVE acrylic in my stash! It was a great reminder to pull it out and make it fabulous!

And then...you guys know how much I love the Design Dollies! WELL, they had a really great color combo challenge showing off kraft, white, red, and blue! What a great combination!

My Love Has Wings (flat)

This card is, admittedly, SUPER bulky, due to the acrylic and the stuffed heart, but that makes it even more FUN if you ask me!!!

I can't wait to share some of the other projects I have going with you!!! Many are in progress and some you will see later this week. FUN STUFF, folks! Just say'n!

Have a happy Sunday!

Happy Brrrthday!

I decided to create a card tonight just for fun! I love doing stuff just for fun! I played with some Studio Calico paper that I just got, along with a fun Skipping Stones Design stamp set and my Tombow markers! YAY for happy things!

Happy Brrrrthday on White

So...funny little thing. I took three shots like this. One with the orange paper as the background, one with the brownish paper as the background and this one. I decided to showcase it using this one. HA! You can see the other two if you click on the photo and check out my Flickr stream. Oh, the joys of being indecisive! Just Say'n!

Happy Brrrthday Flat

I used several layers to give the card dimension. I love doing that! I created the fun banner at the top (totally inspired by the Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday), by punching lots of small circles and then putting just a dab of Tombow Mono Liquid on each dot and then I placed the string onto the dots. I love the look and totally need to keep this in mind for future designs! Such a fun little thing to add to a card or layout!

Moxie Fab Trigger

I also am entering this one in the Polar Animals challenge over at Gingersnap Creations! I love this adorable penguin!!!!

I hope you have a super fabulous weekend!!! It's late and I'm kinda tired, but I just had to share this fun and cheery card!

Jingle Out!

HA! CRACKS. ME. THE. HECK. UP.

every time.

every. single. time.

Just a Cute Little Pin Cushion

We had a SNOW DAY yesterday! This was the view from my studio window:

Snow Day!

Yup. A bunch. About a foot or so.

Snow on the deck

So, because The Hubbums is a teacher, he had the day off (actually, he has today off, too) and I called in yesterday because I couldn't get in if I had wanted to, so we got a nice day in the middle of the week together. It was fun! Now back to work today for me, but such is life, I suppose.

I also have a cute little pin cushion to share with you today. This is a super simple little project, but I love making them and they are just so darned adorable I can't help myself! HA!

Pin Cushion

I used Samantha Walker fabrics from Riley Blake. I love the fun pattern and the FABULOUS bright pinkness of it all!

Pin Cushion

It's just fun! I embellished it with some embroidery floss and a vintage white button. I love vintage buttons. They make me happy. Just say'n.

Project #2: Gorgeous Valentine Card

You see, you don't have to use Valentine themed products to create fabulous Valentines! This card is made with papers from the Sweet Tooth Collection by Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations! I also used one of Samantha's fabulous holey cardstocks! LOVE!!!

Love You

And finally, my personal favorite.....a new ART DOLL!!!! She is a fabric and paper clay doll. Her body is made with three patterns of Samantha Walker for Riley Blake fabrics and I love them all!!! Her head, shoulders, and legs are sculpted from paper clay and her arms are stitched from fabric, stuffed and sewn on. She is adorned with ribbon, lace, and flowers. I must say, this pretty girl was SO cooperative when we did our photo shoot. She sat and posed SOOO beautifully. I was proud of her. Her name is Evanthe and she would be happy to go pick some flowers from the field with you! She is really a very sweet girl. Mild mannered, yet fun.
