Spooks and Such...or just yummy-ness...either one works for me!

I'd like to welcome you to my lovely place for some Halloween Fun! You see, I am a terrible hostess...I really am. I mean, what kind of hostess FORGETS all about the party just because she is so busy it feels like she may be going BATTY!

shot_1287194241156

But, alas...all is well...you see, when Halloween comes, all one REALLY needs is TREATS! Wouldn't you agree? Why, yes, YES you WOULD agree! Some come on in and grab some treats!

shot_1287194293882

Perhaps a nip of chocolate?

IMAG0008

Or perhaps a bit MORE than a nip? Hee-hee!

Or, if not chocolate, perhaps you are more like me and enjoy your sugar STRAIGHT UP!

Just Say'n.

Whatever you choose, be sure to fill your little pumpkin to the brim! It's a party, afterall!

And, of course, we simply cannot forget the friends that will gather with us! Both old and new - to enjoy all of this fun and festivity!

DSCN6875

These two are always looking for some haunted fun!

And it looks like they may have found some!

shot_1287194368231

Because there are some haunts around here for certain!

shot_1287194340842

Yes, they are haunts, but the sweetest haunts really...I mean, yes, Scytale has a habit of stealing faces and all, but OTHER THAN THAT he is a perfectly friendly little demon. Just say'n.

But, perhaps, you simply came to relax...if so, then go ahead and sit right here by the fire...

shot_1286323306081

....let me pour you some hot cider...and you can relax by the candle light...

DSCN6877

Yes....go ahead and sit in your high backed chair....relax....drift off....on this midnight dreary...ponder weak and weary over many a quaint volume of forgotten lore...nearly napping...

...that is...until you hear the gentle tapping. Rapping Rapping Rapping. On this chamber door.

....and that candle light o'er you streaming throws a shadow on the floor;
And your soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

Just say'n. ;-)

AND...not only is this set wicked crazy cute....

BUT WAIT....

THERE'S MORE!

Yes, my friends, for every Cancer Schmancer set sold in the month of October Skipping Stones Design is going to donate $4.00 to the Komen Foundation! Ummm..fabulous? Why, yes, it is. Thanks for asking. (For those of you outside of the US, the Komen foundation is a Breast Cancer support foundation to raise funds and awareness to limit and hopefully cute Breast Cancer.)

And, just in case you haven't had quite enough fun yet! (Oh, you KNOW I always have more fun up my sleeve!) Here is the card that I created using this fabulous set!!!

SSD #46

FOR REALS!?! Aren't those colors together just fabulous? Oh...wait...did I just say that about my own card...hmmm....sorry. Humility and all...yadda yadda.....BUT REALLY, though, I love them! The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, the stamps are, ummm...SKIPPING STONES, the ink is CTMH, and the markers are Tombow! FABULOUSNESS!!!

BUT...Seriously...did you even THINK this could get any better?  My BlogSpark,  Pink Together and General Mills have come together yet again to raise awareness for this very same cause! AND, they have kindly sent me an awesome package of goodies AND I get to give away the very same package to one of you, also provided by General Mills and MyBlogSpark!!!

Pink Together is an absolutely fabulous community where survivors can share their stores!  They connect through Facebook, Youtube, and more!  AND...to encourage personal connections in the online community, General Mills will donate $1 (up to $20,000) to Komen for each inspirational story submitted, encouraging comment posted, or virtual flower of support sent on PinkTogether.com, and for each shared message of hope posted on Pink Together’s Facebook fan page during the month of October (up to $5,000). This $25,000 is in addition to the $2 million donation General Mills has committed to Komen to advance breast cancer research and support education and community outreach projects. (Portion in italics is taken directly from MyBlogSpark).

So...wanna know what you can win?

Yup! It's super fab! And you totally want it to show your support! (Or share with friend or family member who has survived!!!)

My Messy Worskpace {WOYWW}

***Please take a moment to check out THIS post and nominate me HERE! Thank you SO much to all who already have!!!***

At least this time there is a good reason for the mess! I played with that Rigid Wrap that I told you guys about! It is SO freaking cool! I haven't finished the piece yet. You definitely need to let it dry overnight - at least in climates like mine. (Everything dries faster in Colorado. *sigh* I miss that. LOL!)

WOYWW 13 Oct 2010

Yup! That's a mini plastic pumpkin covered in Rigid Wrap and I even sculpted the face a bit with the stuff, too! WICKED CRAZY FUN! I am so not kidding, you guys. This is going to be a staple in my craft room from now on. Yeah, it's messy. Like, really messy. But it is fairly easy to clean up AND it is so much fun I can't stand it! I am going to sand this a bit to smooth it and then paint it and maybe apply some other techniques as well. Not sure yet, we shall see where my creative spirit leads!

WOYWW 13 oct 2010

In addition to that you may have noticed the colored stamped images sitting there, as well. The Hubbums was working on a sample project for an assignment he plans to give his students and he needed my PrismaColor pencils for it. WELL! I couldn't just sit there and let him have all the coloring fun, now COULD I! Nope. I couldn't. Just say'n.

WOYWW 13 oct 2010 stamped images

SO, I pulled out some stamped images that either had been sent to me by others or that I had from previous projects and I colored them! FUN!!!

So, that's what's on my workspace right now! To see more check out The Stamping Ground!

The Haunted Tree

*A HUGE Thanks to all who have nominated me over at Cosmo Cricket! If you haven't, please do!!! I would love your help! See the post below this for details!*

I have seen so many amazing 'scene' style patterned papers that have all these cool colors and images over the background and they have just been really jumping out at me. I decided that I wanted to try to create something similar using inks and stamps, so I grabbed a few of my Scrolls Work stamps and set to it!

Haunted Tree

Yup. I'm pretty much in love with it. First of all, that tree stamp is one of my favorites! It is just too cool! I began by cutting a white circle from cardstock and I stamped the background with a marble background stamp and then, over that, I stamped the tree.

Haunted Tree Close

After that I pretty much just went nuts on the thing. No...like, for reals. I colored the image with Prismacolor markers and then went to TOWN with Tim Holtz Distress inks (Ranger) to create the layered colors you see in the background. I then added a subtle outline of the same tree stamp to give a subtle forest background effect.

Haunted Tree Ribbon

Then, I mounted the image circle on a really cool Cosmo Cricket background paper. I love it! The ribbon adds just a simple finishing touch! Well, that and the fabulous little ghostie! I {heart} him. Although, it made me a little sad when I showed the card to The Hubbums and he said, "That's neat! Does it glow?"

I want it to glow now. *hmph!* Just say'n.

Haunted Tree flat

So, that's my wicked cool card of the day! I hope you love it, 'cause I kinda do!!!

On another note...tea makes me happy. Specifically, Lady Grey. Just say'n.

I Need Your Help!

I don't do this very often, but I would really LOVE it if you guys were willing to help me out with this. Cosmo Cricket is running a really AWESOME contest on their blog in conjunction with the reveal of their amazing new line, Circa 1934!

Yup. It's as good as it looks! SOOOO....they are going to give one person the chance to be an Honorary Design Team member for the month of November. Ummm...yes. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that!!!!!! (No, for reals, people, you have no idea! Just say'n.)

So, if you are willing, please head on over to the Cosmo Cricket blog and nominate me! All you have to do is leave my name in the comments! Jingle should work! Thanks in advance! I know you guys are awesome and stuff!
