I've Gone BATTY! - WOYWW/Moxie Fab World Vertical Sketch Challenge

Yes, my dear friends, we have a LOT going on today! It's Wednesday and that means you get to mock me for the mess on my desk...errr....I mean, you get to see my workspace. HA! BUT, I am also super excited to have a WAY fun card to share with you today!



Yes, my dear friends, I have gone batty! HAHAHA!!!! Seriously. I crack myself up sometimes. I really do. K. Moving forward... HAHAHA!!!! No, really...



Ack!!! The BATS are HANGING upside DOWN!!!! Yay! I love that. You know...'cause they do that when they sleep and stuff. Just say'n.

I created this card based on the fabulous Vertical Sketch Challenge at Moxie Fab World! I LOVE this sketch! It's wicked fun!

And, if you recall, earlier in the week I mentioned that I had a HIGHLY productive creative weekend. Yeah. Well, you see, I can't show you most of what I made, in all honesty, but I CAN show you the results! You see, I had actually cleaned up my desk quite nicely. That may have led to the productivity, to be honest, I don't know, but what I CAN tell you is that the productivity led to THIS:



*Sigh* I promise it was clear for at least an hour or so. I promise! HA! Actually, those who follow me know that this certainly isn't as bad as usual. I have LOTS of room to work on there right now. Which makes me wish I could spend the day doing just that! HA! Alas, that day will come, that day will come, my friends.

It's TUESDAY! And we have some inspriation for YOU!

Yes, the Skipping Stones Design Stamp Tramps have done it again! Amy Sheffer has provided our beautiful sketches for September and the team has done some GORGEOUS work!



I created my card using a BUNCH of rolled ribbon flowers created with a wonderful olive wrinkle ribbon from May Arts. I actually did these flowers at a crop as a make and take so I had a whole bunch of samples from the demonstrations, so I wanted to find a fun way to use them. The sketch for today was perfect!



I used the beautiful butterfly and sentiment from the Victorian Summer set. I just love it!



I am entering this card in the Woodware ANYTHING GOES challenge!

Wanna know what else I love? I love that today is Tuesday and not Monday! *sigh* Four day work weeks are SO much cooler than five day work weeks. Just say'n. Today is also The Hubbums' first day of school with his new students at his new school! Very exciting stuff! I'm praying that it goes well for him today! He is such a wonderful teacher! He really is.

An adorable Tricycle Pendant and a Winner!

Happy Labor Day, everyone! I do so hope you are enjoying the time off and relaxing a bit! I know I have been! Lots of creating this weekend! Lots!!!

I also have a super fun 100 Proof Press project to share with you today! I pulled out the super cute tricycle image again, because, well, because I love it that's WHY! Just say'n.



I stamped the image and embossed it with distress embossing powder on a woodgrain background and then I used various inks to distress it and move the color around a bit. I sandwiched the image between two pieces of glass and wrapped it with wire and copper tape to complete the pendant. It is just too fun! This would be a beautiful gift topper, a necklace, an ornament, or who KNOWS what else! And it was super easy to create, too!



That beautiful long silk ribbon is from May Arts. I love it!

Well, it appears that felt truly IS Fabulous in the Moxie Fab World!

I have to be honest. I was going to skip this challenge. I wasn't much interested in felt. BUT...then I realized that it isn't much of a challenge if it is something I would do normally anyway, THUS, I gave it a shot and I LOVE IT!!!! Here is my submission to the Moxie Fab World Fabulous Felt Challenge....drumroll, PLEASE......



I KNOW, right???? For reals, you guys! So fun! The banner is actually one I cut up from a Martha Stewart felt banner and then I added just a *tad* bit of October Afternoon paper with a Skipping Stones sentiment on it! YAY!



The bright and cheerful colors make me IMMENSELY happy! Just say'n.

How is your weekend going? Mine is going SUPER CRAZY CRAFTY!!! I can't even count how many projects I've done at this point and I am LOVING it!!! I hope yours is awesome and stuff. Just say'n.

I have GREAT news!

Yes, my friends, I have exciting news to share with you on this fine September Friday! I am excited to tell you that I will be joining the Skipping Stones Design team for another term! Yup! I'm stick'n around! And I can't tell you how thrilled I am! You know how much I love Skipping Stones, and I am also excited to share that I will be the assistant DT coordinator, as well, so I'm super stoked about that!!!



BUT! I'm not alone on this team, oh, no sirreee, BOB! You see, we have one stinking INCREDIBLE team this term and I can't WAIT to work with these fabulous designers!

OH!!!! My CARD! You want to know more about my card! K. I can do that for you. Well, it was created using the fabulous Uplifting set from Skipping Stones. The ribbon and some of the lace is May Arts. I hand dyed the turquoise ribbon to make it the perfect color! I used some fabulous stickers from Pink Paislee, wonderful vintage buttons, some Melissa Francis paper, and a wonderfully fun Martha punch. I sorta went to town on this one. Just say'n.

The color inspiration came from the WONDERFUL challenge over at CR84FN Color Challenge for this week! I love it!

School is Cool with the Pixies!

Well, today was supposed to be The Hubbums' first day with students, but instead, it is their first snow day. HA! No...we didn't get snow in August, although, it wouldn't surprise me. Irene knocked out power all over the state and the high school in his district is still without power (as are my parents, actually), so they had to postpone the first day. They already had tomorrow off and Monday is Labor Day, so they will *hopefully* be starting school on Tuesday. Yikes! It's all a bit crazy!

BUT...the Pixie Dust Studio is BACK TO SCHOOL with this week's School is Cool Challenge! The Pixies have come up with some great inspiration for you this week! I chose to use the absolutely adorable Magnum Opus image for my fun back to school card!



I colored the image with Tombow markers and used a combination of Crate Paper and Cosmo Cricket patterned papers. A bit of May Arts burlap string and twill were perfect accents!
