Just a Cute Little Pin Cushion

We had a SNOW DAY yesterday! This was the view from my studio window:

Snow Day!

Yup. A bunch. About a foot or so.

Snow on the deck

So, because The Hubbums is a teacher, he had the day off (actually, he has today off, too) and I called in yesterday because I couldn't get in if I had wanted to, so we got a nice day in the middle of the week together. It was fun! Now back to work today for me, but such is life, I suppose.

I also have a cute little pin cushion to share with you today. This is a super simple little project, but I love making them and they are just so darned adorable I can't help myself! HA!

Pin Cushion

I used Samantha Walker fabrics from Riley Blake. I love the fun pattern and the FABULOUS bright pinkness of it all!

Pin Cushion

It's just fun! I embellished it with some embroidery floss and a vintage white button. I love vintage buttons. They make me happy. Just say'n.

LOL! Houston pretty much shuts down if there is one SNOWFLAKE or one patch of ice! For real! Our city just isn't equipped for (or used to) real cold! I LOVE the cold, and that snow resembles gorgeous meringue! YUMMMMMMY! And the pincushion looks HAPPY! ALL your creations look that way to me. I mean, I can SEE the joy you have MAKING things in the finished creations! Have fun with your sweety today! HUGS!!!!

I half expected a pic of either you or hubbums standing in the snow as your "pin cushion!" LOL Seriously.

That is really beautiful! And it look so easy to make too. I am in desperate need of a new pincushion (and pins too--darned bent ones). I'm attempting a baby quilt and I'm sure I'll have some pretty scraps that could be used to make this.

Love that pin cushion! We got lots (for us) of snow here this week too. 11" total. It shut everything down from Monday-Wednesday. Even Wal-Mart was closed on Monday!

P.S. That cupcake pin looks familiar! :)
