Happy Valentine's Day, Cowboy!

Ummm...so yup. It's totally 7 below zero in my happy little city right now. Yup. 7. degrees. BELOW. freaking. zero. That's not warm. Just say'n.

Seven. Below. Yes, I'm aware that I am dwelling, but SERIOUSLY, folks??? Don't you think that's a weeee bit ridiculous. 'Cause I do. For reals.

Anyway, this fun little Valentine that I created is sure to make us all feel warmer! Okay...so that doesn't make any sense, but still, I want to share it, so I'm gonna, K? K. Thanks.

Cowboy Valentine

Yup. It's a Valentine card for a guy. Who knew? HA! The papers, border stickers, and that awesome epoxy sticker are all from the Cowboy line by Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations! I LOVE this line! so cute and the colors are just perfect! I added some alpha stickers (Making Memories) for the sentiment and popped on some brads (Making Memories) in the corners to finish it out.

I don't know if it is because this is just a way fun card or because I totally have a thing for cowboys, but either way, I love it. Just say'n.

My Upcycled Fabric Wreath

I mean, really? What else was I going to do with a couple of old pillows and a wire hanger? For reals?

Upcycled Fabric Wreath

Let me tell you how this fun little wreath came to be.

My dog got sick because she chewed a plastic soda bottle. My OTHER dog's bed, therefore, had to be washed. The cover comes right off for washing, however, the inside needed washing, too, and, well, it came out kind of lumpy and a lot less FLUFFY. (Be sure to read the word FLUFFY as though you are Agnes from Despicable Me ever. single. time. It will just make your day more fun. Trust me on this one.) SOOOOO....The Hubbums decided to upcycle some old pillows that were in the trunk in the basement and so he promptly unstuffed them and used the batting to make a new inside for Maggie's bed. And NOW it is SO FLUFFY!!!!! WELLLLLLL....that left a couple of empty pillows....hmmmm...not sure they could really be called pillows anymore, but you know. WELL, I couldn't just let THOSE go in the trash, now could I? Nope. Nosirreeebob.

Thus...

IMAG0088

...the fabric wreath. I promptly plopped myself on the couch with a pair of pinking sheers and the pillow casings and cut lots and lots and lots and lots of small strips from the fabric.

Then, I grabbed a white wire coat hanger and tied lots and lots and lots and lots of small strips of cut fabric onto the hanger after shaping it into a lovely wreath shape. *Be sure to bend a hook or loop into the top for hanging!*

THEN...I added a sparkly red ribbon because I happen to like red Lots and lots and lots AND because I figure Valentine's day is coming AND I can always change the ribbon for the seasons AND 'cause I like it THAT'S WHY!!!!

And now I have a fabulous, simple, wonderful upcycled fabric wreath. And I love it. Lots.

And lots and lots.

Just say'n.

Lots of Projects! {WOYWW}

Here we are at yet another fabulous What's On Your Workspace Wednesday with our friends over at The Stamping Ground! *said in my best cheesy on-site game show host voice, mind you.*

Yes, my dear friends, it is that lovely time again when we gather together to play WHAT IS ON YOUR WORKSPACE????

Hmmmm....and what do you suspect to be on my desk on this fine Wednesday? Oh, yes, my friends, THE USUAL!!!!

WOYWW 19Jan11

HA! That being pretty much everything. Just say'n. Let's just say it has got a LOT of use this week! I mean a LOT! And I have plans to make it work even more, so THERE! You can see a rather large project on top there. That was inspired by a delightful little girl who happens to be the daughter of a delightful friend of mine. The Hubbums said he wants to make a frame for it so we can put it up in the house, so it is waiting for that stage in it's life.

You can also see a fabulous arrow ready for an upcoming project that I saw an another blog. Will share...will share. Just say'n.

AND...you can see a fabulous bin of gummy hearts. I LOOOOOOOVVVVVE gummy hearts. For reals. Love 'em.

DSCN7385

And then there are these beauties just waiting to be worked on some more. Well, at least they WILL be beauties. Don't tell them what they look like right now...I generally keep mirrors away from them at this stage as it can be a bit frightening to the poor girls! I mean REALLY!

So, that, my dear friends, is what is on my workspace right now. What's on yours?

I'm Blue Da Ba Di Da Ba Die... {Wordless Wednesday}
