Little Yellow School Bus

As I have my pumpkin spice coffee with my pumpkin harvest crisp yogurt for breakfast (yup...I'm totally ONE OF THOOOOSE), I wanted to share another fun little card I created using the Simon Says Stamp Back to School stamp set. You could easily change this sentiment out to be a cute teacher thank you or even an encouraging lunch box note for your kiddo!

I colored the image using Copics and and Spectrum Noir markers. I added the little smoke puffs and the road lines by hand. P.S. That was scary. HA! The windows of the bus are coated with glossy accents to add just a little bit of shine!

Another Fabulous Year of Being Awesome

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

It's time for another fun Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! This week it is BACK TO SCHOOL time! The Design team is using My Favorite Things products this week. If you have them, we would LOVE to see you rock them, but if you don't, that's cool, you don't have to use them to participate in the challenge.

Fabulous Year of Being Awesome

I used the Blueprints 17 die for my card and all I can say about that is that I am in love with it!!! I will be honest, that was a bit of a splurge for me, but it was SO worth it! The die set included the frame, the banner pieces, and the embossed rectangle that I cut from wood. There are a bunch more dies in the set, too! Definitely one of my new favorite things in my stash! The sentiment comes from a birthday set from Altenew, but I thought it worked brilliantly for Back to School!

Fabulous Year (detail)

Now it's your turn! Create something awesome with the Back to School theme in mind and link it up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!

Don't forget to check out the Kid's Challenge, too! It is open through the month of August so there is still time!

I am also linking my card up to the Trendy Triangles Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Have a Happy!

Back to School!

It's that time of year and we are having some fun creating CAS back to school projects over at the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge this week!  I decided to play with some fun primary colors to create a great thank you card for a teacher!

Mmmmm!  I am so loving those ink colors!  Good old primaries.  They make me happy.  I trimmed the rectangle panel and temporarily adhered my stencil to the cardstock, then I inked the three colors onto the cardstock.  I used Momento inks with Tsukineko ink daubers.  I die cut the sentiment from black cardstock and then simply adhered it over the raised panel.  Nice and easy, but so striking!

And now it's YOUR turn!  Simply create a CAS creation based on the Back to School theme and link it up to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge blog for your chance to win a great prize from Ellen Hutson!

In the meantime, I'm going to go hug some primary colors.  'Cause I love 'em and stuff.  Just sayin'.

Have a Happy!!!

Setting Sail on a New School Year

I had a pumpkin spice coffee this morning and a PumkinHead beer (It's made by Shipyard and it is the BEST pumpkin beer on the planet...go find some.  For reals.)  the other day.  As much as I hate to admit it, fall is creepy it's way in slowly, but surely!  Fortunately, it is supposed to be in the upper 80's around here today, so that helps me out a bit.  HA!  Don't get me wrong, I love fall...it's just that nasty thing-which-should-not-be-named that comes after it that I so dread.  But, alas.  *sigh*

With fall, however, also comes the excitement of back to school for many students and teachers!  The Hubbums still has a bit before he starts, but I know many schools have gone back already!  The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is all about BACK TO SCHOOL this week!  Super fun!

Let's Set Sail on a Great School Year!

I couldn't pass up this opportunity to use one of my FAVORITE techniques!  The chalkboard technique!  The inside of my card reads, "On a GREAT School Year!"  It's a perfect card to tuck into a lunch box, give to a teacher, or even to the office staff or admin!  The design team is using Maya Road products this week and I am in LOVE with that striped fabric tape that I used to create that fun little flag!  LOVE IT.  For reals, dude.

Let's Set Sail

And, of course, Simon Says Stamp is offering one lucky participant in this week's challenge a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  For reals, you guys.  That's good stuff.  Just sayin'.

You have until 9am Eastern Time 28 August  2013 to participate.  We ask that you do not backlink - we like to inspire you to create something NEW!  YAY!  Also, you can enter up to FIVE times!  Woot!  That kinda rocks.  Just sayin'.  Be sure to add links back to the challenge blog to be eligible for the prize.

If you would like to check out the awesome goodies I used to create this fun card, they are all available at Simon Says Stamp and can be found in the links below!  (Sometimes they take a minute to load, but it makes it super easy to find 'em.  Just sayin'.)
