Go and Do

First, let me take a moment to say GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!! Whew! That was a crazy game. And an awesome game. Just awesome!

Okay, now let's chat about the card I am excited to share with you today! I picked up a simple background inking technique from Day 6 of Clean and Simple 4 over at Online Card Classes that I just loved and wanted to try out right away. Tasnim showcased it using one ink color, but I wanted to use a variety to create a unique background, so I pulled out my Hero Arts Soft Vanilla, Simon Says Stamp Slate, and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue and I got started!

Go and Do

I used a strip of post-it tape to mask as I inked and I just love how these colors worked so beautifully together! I then pulled out the Neat & Tangled Oragami Map stamp and the coordinating die for the focal point. I stamped the map on vellum and heat embossed and then die cut the entire thing and adhered it with Kool Tac Clear Foam Tape so the adhesive would raise the map, but not be visible. I seriously love that stuff, you guys. For reals.

I trimmed a strip of cardstock the length of the card and heat embossed the sentiment on it before adhering it to the card. A few sequins finish it off with just a bit of sparkle.

You guys, I can't even pretend that I don't love this card. Because I do. Lots. For reals, though.

That's all for today! We are getting another foot of snow today, so... yeah. *sigh* HA! BUT, at least the PATRIOTS WON!!!!! YAY!!!!!

Have a Happy!

You & Me

Tall cards are a challenge to photograph.  That is the lesson I have taken from creating this card.  HA!  HOWEVER, I did have a lot of fun creating it and I am excited to share it with you!  This is my first 'official' post as a member of the Crafter's Companion Design Team!  Woot!  Woot!

The Crafter's Companion Challenge this month is all about HEARTS!  Yup!  Seems like a good time of year for that, doesn't it?  Tee-hee!  I received this amazing heart rainfall die for Christmas and I HAD to use it for this fun hearts challenge!

You & Me

And I felt like it NEEDED a tall card.  At least this time around.  So, thusly, a tall card was bon!  I used VersaMagic inks around the edges to create a cloudy look before stamping my sentiment from the Sentimentals - Imagine set to look like the sun and adhering it along with the die.    I love the glitter paper hearts!  They make me happy!

How About a Little Bit of Ink?

It is Wednesday and that means it is time for a new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!  This week, the design team is using some super fun goodies from Tim Holtz/Ranger!  As for the challenge, well, it's ANYTHING GOES time!  Make something fabulous over the holiday weekend and link it up!

Vintage Santa Christmas

I challenged myself to go a bit outside of my usual box for this one.  Since we were encouraged to use Tim Holtz products, I checked out my stash and pulled out a GORGEOUS stamp I've had around for a bit and then decided that inking was simply in order.  I mean, who can be inspired by Tim Holtz and NOT lay on the ink?!  LOL!  I 'colored' my image with distress inks!  SO FUN!  Of course, his beard is shimmering with Wink of Stella clear because I pretty much am having an affair with that thing.  Just sayin'.  I accented his hat with a bit of enamel accents, too!  SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Merry Christmas Santa

I also added some of that fabulous film strip ribbon from Tim Holtz.  I LOVE that stuff!  I don't use it often, but it is just SO much fun!!!  Plus... it totally comes in an little adorable tin and I love that.  Good stuff, folks.  Good stuff, I tell ya!  You can find links to ALL of the super fun goodies I used on this card below.

And, as per usual, the absolutely fabulously generous Heidi is offering one lucky participant (chosen at random) a $50 Gift Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store!  Happy Happy to YOU!!!!!

Have A Happy!!!

Ummm... yes, that wood journaling card from Studio Calico IS awesome and yes I DID cover it entirely in rich, glorious, Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz ink. Yes. It's awesome. That bears repeating.
