I am absolutely LOVING my December Simon Says Stamp card kit! I made this card just for fun and I absolutely love it! I combined the card kit with the super cute Layered Tree dies and stamps for this fun holiday card! I just love making Christmas cards! I really and truly do!!!
I used papers from the kit, including that awesome woodgrain cardstock! I LOVE that stuff!!! For reals, you guys. For. Reals. I used just a little bit of wood veneer for the tree trunk. I just though it was a fun way to fancy up the tree a bit. My Wink of Stella did all of the work to add glisten and shine! YAY!

I've always been a big 4th of July fan. It's just a super fun holiday filled with warm weather, fun stuff, and good food! LOVE IT! I had so much fun creating this patriotic card!
The patterned papers on this are from Fancy Pants and the chipboard hearts and sequins are Simon Says Stamp. A bit of ribbon finished it off nicely! Ummm... I LOVE these papers!!!! Love them. And they are brilliantly PERFECT for this stamp! LOVE. IT. ALL! For reals. No.. like seriously. Totally for reals. Not just a little. Just sayin'.

Hello, friends! It is the beginning of what looks like it is going to be QUITE a snowy day here in Massachusetts...I'm actually curious to see just how much snow this one brings... they were saying 2 1/2 feet in our area...I'm thinking it may be hard to find my Mini later on... HA! Despite the snow, I have a super fun project to share with you as part of the May Arts Ribbonista Valentine's Blog Hop!
I have created some fun Valentine's pencils that are great for classroom treats to share with you today!
To create these, I first used Sally the Cricut to die cut the scalloped hearts from DCWV Glitter paper, and then cut the center hearts from white cardstock. I then stamped the dinosaurs (Paper Smooches cutness!) onto patterned paper and fussy cut them..because of the simple shapes, the dinosaurs were really easy to cut! I added some wiggle eyes to each dinosaur to make them just a bit more fun and then hand drew a line around each heart after adhering the patterned paper.
I then tied solid wrinkled ribbon and grosgrain ribbon around each pencil, in a bow, to finish them off...this was the PERFECT touch for these fun pencils! I love it!
This is such a fun project and a great alternative to more SUGAR! LOL! (Although, who am I kidding.. you all know I'm a BIG fan of sugar! HA!) I hope you give it a try!

So, today is Friday. Friday is a good thing. Friday means that tomorrow is Saturday and I don't have to go to work. That makes me happy. It really and truly does.
Today is also the LAST day that you can enter my giveaway! So, I HIGHLY recommend that you go check THAT out because it pretty much ROCKS! It will close at midnight tonight and I will choose a winner no later than Monday, but possibly earlier, so keep your eyes PEELED like a banana!
I have to tell you, Valentine's Day is not a big one in our house. It never has been, really. Let's face it. Hallmark got us on this one. The decided to toss out a lot of bright and shiny red and pink and fluffy stuff and tell everyone that we should have a day of LUUUUV! (I'm not quite sure how to do the proper pronunciation key for that word, but I'm hoping you are getting the idea...) So, seriously, folks....is this REALLY a necessary holiday? I would put for that it is, indeed, not. Now, that being said....I do love me some cherry gummy hearts and WalMart only has them for Valentine's Day, so I'm not going to start a boycott campaign or anything! My point is more that we don't do silly cards and I CERTAINLY don't expect (or even want) over-priced roses that magically get more "valuable" simply because of the date. I do, however, LOVE the color RED! And, I must admit, I'm a pretty big fan of Pink, too! So, that means that I have a certain color-based appreciation for this time of year. The colors make me happy!!! AND...who doesn't love a good heart now and then?
So, I do create Valentine's cards...which I haven't done quite yet this year, but I will get there! I promise! And I also create some other fun valentinesey type projects, as well. (OMG! "Valentinesey" is actually NOT throwing the spell checker! Sometimes it simply amazes me what passes for a word in the English language! At least the American version! Yikes!....but I digress...)
I made this fun little "LOVE" banner, since it seems that banners and such are all the rage and I didn't feel like being left off that little train.....
Umm...I kinda love it. I used Chatterbox ArtsyLicious papers to cover the heavy chipboard letters and then I set eyelets (remember those things!) in each letter. The ribbon was the fun part! I didn't want it to look "strung" but I did want the ribbon to be the connecting factor, so I folded the ribbon and pushed a loop through from the back to the front of each eyelet. Then I cut the loop and tied a cute little knot on the front to fasten it. I love the way it looks and I love that I didn't have to have that "over/under" kind of thing going on!

Okay....so that's my fun little banner! You should totally make one! It didn't take very long and I LOVE it!!! (Hee-hee....love....yeah, anyway....moving on....)
ALSO, I just knew that I was supposed to go ahead and embrace the creative force of the season when I scooped out a small bowl of ice cream the other night. I used one of my favorite Crate and Barrell bowls that my wonderful little sister gave to us. It's red. I sprinkled it with wonderful Rainbow sprinkles and drizzled a bit of caramel on top and sat down to enjoy my evening snack. Well, after a couple of bites I looked down and I saw it!!! My ice cream had scooped out in a perfect little heart shape!!! How cute is THAT? It made me happy. Really, sometimes it doesn't take much! Anyway, I was really glad that I hadn't taken any bites from that scoop because I grabbed my camera just show I could show you!
I LOVE THAT!!! It still makes me happy. Heart shaped ice cream. By accident. It wouldn't have been as great if it was on purpose. Just say'n.
So, alas we come to the end of my happy little LLUUUUUV post.
Today you get a quick overview of my Thanksgiving day. Really, it was a wonderful holiday and great to see family again! Here are some of the highlights of the day.
Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
Instead of the classic desserts I decided to bring pumpkin cupcakes as my contribution. They were SO yummy! And they came out perfect! I would love to tell you that they take great skill and amazing background knowledge to make, but really, I cheated, as I always do! LOL! One can of pumpkin and one box of your favorite spice cake mix. Seriously, folks! That's all! Then pour into your cupcake papers and bake at the usual 350 for about 20 minutes! I used a basic cream cheese frosting and sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar for an extra kick! That was yummy!
And the cornbake!!! We LOVE this stuff in our house! Sean makes it and he does a great job with it. It's amazing just how difficult this can actually be! One year his cousin tried to make it and it was more of a corn BRICK and every single time his mother tries to make it there is LITERALLY an explosion in the oven. I have no idea how they do it, but Sean makes it perfect EVERY time! It is SO SO SO good! I really don't know why we don't eat it more often! He even made this one a low-fat version just for me and it tasted exactly the same! It was wonderful!
This is my cousin (the adorable little 3 year old girl) and my other cousin's son (the super-cute 2 year old boy). They decided that the best way to spend Thanksgiving would be to crawl into the dog kennel and play. For a really long time. LOL! I sat there and took SO many pictures! They were totally cracking us up!
And....as this was going on we just sat and watched as you see Sean doing here. It was too cute! LOL!
So, overall, it was a wonderful day! We really enjoyed it!
I don't usually do a lot of family stuff on my blog, but I got some great photos this past weekend, so I may share our Christmas tree hunting experience with you, too, if you don't mind!
And...finally, I just want to show you this video. It is so dead on and I love that!
