A Cure For The Monday Blues ... On Tuesday

Have you seen the Cure for Monday Blues Challenge over at Fill Your Paper with The Breathings of Your {Heart}? Every Monday a new inspiration photo is offered as inspiration and every Monday I see it and want to create something! They are awesome inspiration photos! For some reason, likely due to the fact that I see them on Monday and Monday is, well, Monday, I never get around to actually creating something, so this time I DID IT! I got some new Winnie & Walter stamps in the mail and when I saw them, that photo came to mind and I HAD to combine the two!

Two words folks. Two words: Mint and Gold.

Yup. I was pretty much in love. So in love, in fact, that I actually created not one, but TWO cards based on this inspiration photo using the V for Chevron and The Big, The Bold, You sets from Winnie and Walter.

I stamped the solid chevron and the open chevron alternately with mint ink. I then went back in with the open chevron and gold ink to add a touch of gold. The sentiment is stamped in black with a few metallic gold dots to finish off the look.

Using the same basic supplies, I came up with a second card in the same color scheme. I was going to choose my favorite to post, but that simply wasn't happening. I kind of loved them both. THUS, a two card post on this fine Tuesday morning. Suffer me if you will.

For this card I chose an even simpler design. I stuck with simply a single solid chevron and, rather than stamping the gold, I used my gold Wink of Stella brush to add a slightly heavier gold line around the chevron. I stamped the sentiment directly over it and added a single, wood star as an accent. This card makes me happy.

Happy Friday!!! It's time for a brand new challenge from CAS-ual Fridays and I LOVE this one!!! We are pulling out the chevrons and the sequins... ALL AT ONCE! WOOT! WOOT! Seriously. Totally fun, dude.

I am a fan of both of these fabulous trends, although, I must admit to being a bit picky about the chevron side of things. A couple of years ago I wrote a big 'ole blog post about it and everything! LOL! Chevrons are not zig zags. Zig zags are not chevrons. I'll leave it at that! *wink*

Super fun cards, however, created with super fun stamp sets... now those are nothing bug, well, SUPER FUN! Seriously, though, I had way too much fun making this card. This stamp set just cracks me up! I love it. For reals, I do.
