A Bit o' Bleach

I am up over on the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps blog today and I wanted to share a little more about my card here.  I used a super fun technique on this card and I really love the way it turned out!

For You Mum

I used the flower from the Christmas Carols set along with bleach to stamp the background on the red cardstock.  To do this, I take out a plastic container and pour a bit of bleach into it.  Then I fold several paper towels and let them soak up the bleach entirely.  This becomes my stamp pad.  Be careful not to use towels with too much of a texture pattern, as this can be transferred to your design.  Then I simply use my 'bleach ink pad' as I would a normal one... press the stamp in and then onto the paper.  You can use a heat gun to speed up the drying process, or simply wait a few moments for the bleach to do it's thing.  Just keep in mind that your images won't be entirely predictable - this is one of those techniques where you have to let the art do it's own thing for a bit!

You can find the links to all of the products I used for this card, except for the bleach and towels, in the links below.  :)

Have a Happy!!!

  1. Ooooooo, I like it! Bleach is fun--You never know what's going to happen, unless it's me and it's the part about getting your sleeve all crapped up...

  2. Very cool card! I've always wanted to try this, but bleach scares me - because I'm a klutz and I would for sure get it on something I wasn't supposed to, but this really looks wonderful!
