You Are Sweet!

Hello, friends! I am sorry I wasn't able to post on Friday. I actually was attending CKC Manchester and having TONS of fun taking classes and shopping for yummy paper crafting goodies! While I was there, I picked up a couple of super fun stamp sets from The Stamps of Life and I was excited to play with them, so, well, you will see them a couple of times this week. LOL! Today's card was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, Pretty Little Petit Fours! Ummm... I LOVE petit fours!!!! What could possibly be more wonderful that tiny little works of art made of CAKE! I mean, for reals. Totally my thing. Just sayin'.


I actually had a couple of ideas for this one, so I may end up creating another card since there is a bit of extra time for this one, but we shall see. I loved the warm white and the pink shapes, so I chose an earthy white flecked cardstock and Angel pink ink for my card. I went with circles in place of the squares and spaced them out a bit. I then decided to add stars to my circle in a manner similar to the flower placement on the petit fours.


I pulled the silver from the serving utensil in the photo and used that with my natural white and pink. I think it is kind of a sweet color combination.

B Strong

This sentiment is a pretty popular one around here as of late. The Hubbums and I were quite lucky to be at the Red Sox game yesterday where we had our B Strong posters and were there to see the tributes and special opening pitches and Ortiz get up and tell it like it is not even considering the fines he might have to pay for doing so. We were there when Neil Diamond stepped out onto the field to sing Sweet Caroline with us. And it rocked. It completely and totally ROCKED! We are actually heading out to tonight's game, too! SO FUN!!! With all of this Boston Strong sentiment going on around us, I couldn't help but to be a little inspired by it to make a card... so...I combined that idea with this fun inspiration photo from Moxie Fab World for the Tuesday Trigger!

Kind of a fun card, eh? For some reason my lights are giving it a slightly more yellow hue than it actually has.  The cardstock is Pool from Hero Arts and is a bit bluer than it appears in the photo... more like the inspiration picture. The stamps are from the adorable Circle Friends set from Simon Says Stamp. It's a happy card. I like happy cards. Just sayin'.

So... that's what I have for today! As for me... I am off to another awesome Red Sox game! Woot! Wooooooot!!!!! Love that dirty water!!!!!!!

Hello! {Tuesday Trigger: Magical Magnolias}

Hello, happy people! I decided to play along with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger - Magical Magnolias challenge! This one seemed like a perfect fit for a couple of things I've been working on lately - using softer colors a bit more and adding more floral images to my cards. I don't own a ton of floral stamps, but I have a few and I am working on getting a few new ones here and there.


SO PRETTY!!! I pulled out this Narcissus stamp set from Stampendous! as it seemed a perfect fit for the inspiration photo. I then used my VersaMagic inks to watercolor the image on a canvas-board paper (SUPER THICK STUFF!). I really like how it turned out!


I stamped and watercolored the image and then mounted it onto a kraft base. I added a strip of brown suede trim along the side to give the design a bit of contrast and then used a dark brown VersaFine ink for the sentiment. Due to the heavy texture of this paper, the VersaFine works really well because it can get a bit deeper into texture than some other inks.

Love Wins - Moxie Fab World Set the Table Tuesday Trigger

When I saw the aged, mixed metals showcased in this week's Set The Table Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World I HAD to jump on this one!  It is just so inspiring!

I just love the gold and silver and the tarnish on all of it! The softness of the metals really struck me, as metallic designs are often bold and strong, but this one is softer and more subtle. I decided to fly with that idea for my card.


I stamped the feathers from the Frame and Feathers set from Hero Arts in three different colors to give them depth and interest. I then accented each image with a gold pen from Faber Castel. I used that same gold pen to outline the feather panel..I then used silver and white gel pens to add a tarnished look to that border. I love how that turned out! It's a bit greener in the photo than in real life...it looks so much like tarnished metal in real life and I love that! I double stamped the sentiment in two colors to maintain that weathered feel and tied some twine around the card to complete the softness.
