These are GREAT quality glasses. I always order the anti-glare coating, but other than that, I generally keep my lenses pretty basic. You do have several options to upgrade them, if you so choose. One thing I have noticed about Firmoo glasses is that the fit. I don't know how, I don't know why, but when these come in the mail, they fit well and I love that!

Diamond Candles Review and Giveaway

Happy Weekend, folks!  I am excited to share a fun product with you today!  I was recently given the opportunity to try out Diamond Candles and they are just so much FUN!  The concept is simple, Diamond Candles creates quality, all natural soy candles for the home with a fun surprise imbedded in the wax of each one.  Yup!  It's like Cracker Jacks for grown ups!  They include a ring in every candle!  The rings can have a value of anywhere from $10 - $5000!  While it is possible to get a high value ring from the candles, I think it's more about the fun of burning your candle to get your surprise!



I chose the Misty Dawn scent and I was pleasantly surprised by the aroma.  It isn't overbearing at all, but rather a nice, subtle background scent that leaves a room smelling wonderful!  I tend to be picky about my candles and I was a bit concerned it would be insipid or just plain icky, but I was so happy to find that I really liked the fragrance.  The soy candle burns a bit faster than a traditional wax candle, however, I've found that to be the case with any soy candle and expected it to be the case.



Finding your ring is nice and easy!  No guess work at all!  They have it in a small plastic bag wrapped in a gold foil wrap and marked with a gold seal on the side of the candle.  It was nice being able to see where I needed to burn the candle to before pulling the ring out with tweezers...I'm not the most patient of people, so I was excited it was towards the top and easy to get to!  LOL!  I did it, though!  I burned it down before pulling it out.. no digging here!  LOL!  (It's the little things I get proud about.  HA!)



This is the ring that I pulled out of my candle.  It's kind of pretty, actually!  It isn't one of any great value or anything, but like I said, I think for me, it's more about the fun!  I was always the kid who LOVED digging the cereal prize out of the bottom of the box!  LOL!  I was happy that it was a pretty ring, though... a simple style with subtle stone colors.  I like it!

I'm HOOKED on 3M Hooks! {A Fun Contest, Too!}

Recently I was offered the opportunity to try out a few of 3M Command Brand's latest products. I was excited at the opportunity, as we already use 3M Command products in our home and I LOVE how well they work! They sent me a box with several different products in them and I want to share how I used some of those in my studio... and in my home!

First of all, you have seen my cards. While yes, I have a Clean and Simple style, that somehow does not lend to being clean WHILE I work. HA! Nope. Not even a little bit. Due to my amazing ability to make a mess, I often wear an apron while I am creating. I have several that I keep hung in my studio on a couple of awesome 3M Command hooks. They easily hold 3 or so aprons each and they look great, too! I love that I don't have to worry about them falling off the wall, but when we move (we are apartment people...I always have to keep the next move in mind) they will come off cleanly without a trace of damage to the wall. LOVE THAT! For reals, though.


As you can see, I also keep my photo box backdrops hanging on one and somehow my CK Convention thingy (yup...totally the technical term) landed there, too. They can totally handle the weight and I LOVE THAT!!!!


The next place you will find 3M Command hooks in my studio I am super excited about! I just recently put these up with the new hooks that came in the package and I couldn't be happier with this fun way to display my cards! I tied some twine to each hook and now I can easily switch out which cards hang and always have some of my recent favorites on display! I so love that! I think it might be fun to do this with the Clear Window Hooks, too (so they are more subtle) and cover an entire wall with cards displayed this way. You could also totally use this method for photos by simply mounting photos on folded card fronts! LOVE. IT.


Isn't that just fun? I totally have the wall vision now. I'm going to have to do it. Oooooh, how I love a great idea!!!!


Okay, so... this last one isn't in my studio, but I HAD to share it because it makes me way happier than any little plastic hook ever should, but, alas, this girl LOVES a quality solution to a problem! The shower. Yup. 3M totally has a new line of bath products and that means that they have developed hooks that can handle the wetness and humidity of the bathroom...even IN the shower itself!


YAY!!! Prior to this we were using a suction cup style thing to hold up shower essentials. I hated that thing, but it was what was available. Why did I hate it? Oh, you know... because it would randomly come CRASHING DOWN FROM THE WALL somewhere between 2 and 3am. I have no idea why it never fell during an actual shower or even when nobody was home... but it was REALLY good at scaring the crud out of us in the middle of the night. HA! The 3M command hooks can not ONLY be trusted to stay put and not come crashing down, but they look WAY nicer than that did, too. I also feel like they are a cleaner way to store my essentials in the shower. I love that they have brought out this line. Genius, I tell you! GENIUS!

Let's Talk Washi Tape (Modes4U Review)

Washi Tape. I love the stuff. I absolutely LOVE IT!!! I am super excited to share with you a great place to get washi tape! Modes4u offers a great variety of tapes - both washi style and deco tapes, too! They also have a TON of adorable Kawaii products, in general. Seriously. I love it. Just sayin'. I was recently given the opportunity to review some tapes from Modes4u and I was THRILLED with what arrived!


These are the tapes that arrived. I LOVE THEM! They ship from Hong Kong, too, and I'm not going to lie...it was pretty cool to get a package from Hong Kong post! Just sayin'. As you know, I like to use Japanese washi tape on my cards. Here is one I created using a few different tapes!


For this card I used the new Paper Smooches Chilly Chums stamp set! I used the tapes to ground the image, but I also used some on my little stamped snow cone and the adorable little bowtie to add fun accents to the image! What's particularly great about Japanese Wash Tape is that you get a TON of it in a roll and you can use it in so many ways!


One thing I really like about the tapes available at Modes4u is that they are genuine JAPANESE washi tape. They are the perfect paper type, they tear beautifully, they are thin and you can create wonderful layers with them. They are the REAL DEAL, folks!

How Hard Can a Person REALLY Laugh???

I think that is the question that the writers of this musical were trying to answer! Oh, my goodness! I went to the Trinity Rep last night with my Mom and my sister to see Menopause The Musical. We laughed and laughed and then...when we caught our breath...we laughed some more. Four women, all with completely different backgrounds and totally different current lives, come together in one place where you can always find an abundance of middle aged women - Bloomingdales. They become quick friends as they instantly find that the common bond between them is that they are all CRAZY! Okay... so that might be from the perspective of someone who has yet to go through this stage of life of which these women speak.... LOL! But, in all seriousness, the musical was fantastic. The cast was wonderful and each actress filled her role so amazingly well. The songs, all re-written favorites from the 60's or so, are wonderful and hilarious all at the same time! Nothing but fun! Fredena Williams was amazing in the role of the Professional Woman. Her voice alone captures you, but her sassy tone and style illuminate the stage! Cherie Price, as the Soap Star, was adorable and brought spunk to an already fun role. Carolynne Warren was a riot playing the role of the Iowa Housewife! You could just see so many people that you know in her vibrant character! Barbara Pinolini, Earth Mother, reminded the audience of the generation from which (most of them) came and she did it with great fervor! Overall, they gave an amazing performance and kept the entire audience in stitches the entire show! It was a blast and a great way to spend a night with my Mom and my little sister, whom deserves all the credit because it was all her idea in the first place!
